(NOT) Your Ordinary Lab Girl
Sera Ramirez's

I staggered towards the exit, frantically pushing the button down. The elevator door opened immediately, I rushed in, saw Remi who was following me and came in. Immediately I pressed the close button and pointed the elevator back to the basement.

“Why? You surprised me Meha. Who do you know that is? Because of the shape of his legs, I can make sure it does not belong to men.”

“Alice, that's Alice. Alice Garcia.”

“Who?”

“Dia ... Research student in labku.”

“Oh Meha, this situation is getting worse for you.”

My fingers are shaking, what is this? Why are the two people I know tew4s in such a terrible and unnatural state?

“Remi, what should we do?”

“Report it to the police?”

I looked at Remi in disbelief, how could the idea have popped into his head. Does he not remember my position at the tip of the horn?

“Look Meha, our fingerprints are stuck everywhere, it will be more suspicious if we choose silence. This elevator has even recorded our faces!”

Ding! The elevator door was open, but not on the floor we went to, but on the 2nd floor? That's what's written on the plaque that's right in front of the elevator. No one entered, Remi even held the door so as not to close immediately. After a minute that felt odd, Remi dazed to see the person doing the prank, but the left and right hallways were empty.

I pushed the elevator again and this time the elevator door opened right on the floor we were on. “Alright, we call the police,” I continue our chat earlier.

“Meha, shouldn't you stay with me for a while? Me, don't want to happen bad things to you.”

“Should?” I agreed, but remembered my relationship with Mrs Leah who did not get along. Not to mention Remi's forbidden relationship with her stepmother in the library at that time. I don't seem ready to pile on any more problems. “Mm, Remi. I appreciate your offer, but there's something else I have to do.”

“What is important compared to your safety?”

“We don't even know if this killer is after me, either. My life must go on Remi, I can't be spoiled just because of fear.”

“Meha, you're so stubborn. At least wait until a week, until the detectives get a clue to the perpetrators of this murder!”

“Sorry Remi, I can take care of myself, thanks for worrying.”

Remi's hands clenched, I saw a huge disappointment in his eyes. “I'll call the police, wait here.” That's how Remi cut off our chat.

Shortly after, police sirens were heard and the basement was crowded with police officers. I waited quietly in Remi's car, watching the bustle outside.

“.... Meha, Meha! Hows it? Don't tell me you're envious of not being with us at the salon!” I was pensive, a flash of events a week ago when they showed off the nail polish playing back as if I really was still there.

“Beauty kaan?” Showing off Nina played her fingers in front of me while twitching flirtatiously.

They laughed happily, my tears flowing looking at them. I am not an approachable person, not because I belittle people. But I just protected my heart from the pain of being left behind. I never realized that their presence in my lab for a few months was so valuable.

“Hey, why are you crying, Meha?” Nina was surprised to see me suddenly tear up. Alice even hugged my shoulder, and their attention made me cry even more.

Only Sera looked at me with a cold look, without sympathy. Sera's face suddenly stiffened, her teeth clapping and shivering, as if she was in a very cold place, ice flowers even stuck to her hair and fine hairs all over her body. “Sera, why you?”

“Me ... Meha, help me! PLEASE!”

“Aaargh!!” Shouting hysterically.

An officer knocked on my car's glass door, woke me up from a very bad dream. I watched my whole clean body not covered in blood. The knocking officer was the old officer who was following me. He pointed a flashlight at my face, making me close my eyes because of the glare.

“Nona Meha, come out.”

“Ya Sir, please lower your flashlight,”

“Sorry.” The officer then extinguished the flashlight and I also complied to get out.

He pointed me towards the back of the car that said “Specifically Prisoner” and opened the door with a key, inside sitting Remi with a huffed face. My forehead frowning, what the fuck?

The officer told me to go in with a little taper, I again complied. Remi who was angry with a weak smile greeted me.

Bam! Chequek! The voice of the officer closed the door loudly and locked it.

“Why do they treat us like that?” now I understand the source of Remi's anger.

“Meha, I'm suddenly sorry I was willing to report to them if they ended up treating us like a patient. Sorry.”

“Well, if I was here myself then I would be upset. But since it's Re-mi too, then I can't protest. Calm down, what you said was true, so I agree.”

“Meha, can you reconnect with the events around you? There may have been a missed lead.”

Hearing Remi's words reminded me of my strange dream. Alice and Nina died exactly as they did in real life, yet why was Sera there? And that condition? I told Remi the dream.

“Hopefully it's just a dream that doesn't mean anything, Meha. So, where's David?” Remi diverted the conversation.

“Yes, I'm curious too. Judging from the smell of Alice's decayed body, it is likely that she died more than three days. The party, took place on the weekend, a week ago.”

“Did Nina say anything?”

“Urrgh ..” I closed my face trying to recall the series of events a week back.

“Since David's party, Nina didn't come home until 3 days ago when we had that fight. What I remember, he repeatedly dodged when I asked him about his bruised eyes. And now I realize, he never confirmed if it was David's treatment. She was kind of freaked out when I asked her, I thought it was because of the shock from her problem with David. Oh, now I feel more guilty.”

“Then?”

“Then I left cursing David. Nina cried telling me to stay, but I was too upset. What kind of friend am I.”

“Meha, you don't know.”

“Yes. You're right, I didn't know this was gonna happen. But, if only I could go back that time and hug Nina, maybe she'd still be there.”

Remi didn't argue and let me reflect on my own self-harm. The radio on the driver's side said an emergency message.

[Mth ... Attention to the entire task force, Miss Sera Ramirez disappeared from view. Once again reported to the entire task force, Miss Sera Ramirez disappeared from the scene around the Elephas Campus Dormitory. For officers close to the location to report. Replace.]

I looked at Remi with a horrified face. I remember back to my dream.
