(NOT) Your Ordinary Lab Girl
Nina Smith's

“Meha, do you like publicity?”

“Nope. Being the center of attention is the antonym of Meha.”

“Then I suggest you wait for us at the back door, I'll pick you up on the emergency stairs, how? If this big boy is normal, let him be the bait for you to keep reporters away. They'll be covering him like piranhas kissing blood.” Ray patted Remi on the shoulder.

“You brought my hat?”

“Of course! Here, catch!”

Remi quickly catches the hat thrown by Ray. “I titip Meha, Ray.”

“Since when did you trust me? You're not afraid this beautiful lady will choose me instead? Isn't that right, miss? My charm is more seductive than this handsome delinquent.”

I smiled at the interaction between the two of them. I just saw Remi being so open and being with Ray. In front of me right now incarnate a Remi who behaves according to his age, even in front of his own papa he does not behave like this, still showing a stoic attitude. My curiosity about the story between Ray and Remi begins.

“Meha... The meha? Are you going to accept the old man's temptation?” Remi was apparently waiting for my response to Ray's temptation, for that one thing he was too serious.

“I mean, of course, why not?” Supporting Ray, I also teased Remi who made her face immediately slip, I laughed at her disappointment that did not bother to be hidden.

“I like him, Remi. If you hurt her, I don't hesitate to punch you in the face.”

“I know.”

I rolled both eyes listening to their conversation about me. Hey, I'm in front of you! Don't tease me constantly, I can fall!

“Come!” Ray's way ahead of us.

“Meha, we meet at Langdon mansion. Take care of yourself.” Remi ordered while putting his hat on my head. I thought that hat was for him.

I just nodded my ass and parted ways while at the exit because of our opposite direction. Ray and Remi walked together, I heard Ray's shock.

“Hey, where's your hat? Ah, apparently for Meha. I didn't know you could be Remi's protective. You're so sweet..” Ray again throws temptation at Remi while scrambling his hair.

“Be quiet, noisy!”

“Ooh, Remi semis..”.

“Shut up or you feed me those piranha-piranhas!”

And their absurd conversation was able to publish my knotty smile, a warm heart in the midst of the tragedy that befell me.

What is it that Mr Langdon asked me to his mansion? Uugh, I'm lazy if I have to deal with J4lang Leah again. He will surely be more arrogant to know my position is being cornered.

How will my life go after this, will I still be the Meha of old again. Ah, what's it like to go back to the dorm, there's no Nina there. Down the threaded emergency staircase and stirring up a squeak in each of her steps I stepped on, my mind drifted to my first encounter with Nina.

Finally I officially came out of the parlor, the head nurse took me off stiffly. I have never been close to him who is cold and unfriendly to his foster children, unless the foster child has succeeded in becoming a person, then he came forward with a terrible smile embedded in his paper-thin lips, proclaiming himself as a person who contributed to the journey of life of the successful child.

It was the last of the 14 foster homes that ever housed me. Not because of my misbehavior, but they moved me to be grouped based on the average age of their little ones.

I was clumsy and shut up, met with Nina who was bright and warm like a sunflower. Our conversation was getting smoother, when he found out that I had been treated in the same parlor with him.

“Hey, have you been to Richmond?” From behind Nina saw the badge I put on my diary that I immediately closed, “Ups sorry, I did not intend to peek, the badge alone that caught my attention.”

“Mm, how do you know?”

“I was there too! Here look,” Nina took something into her big bag and showed the same badge, “I think we've met? But I'd remember you if we were there at the same time. Your face is hard to forget.”

“Yes! You know miss Hanna? Last I heard she was pregnant and fired from the parlor. Who would have thought to try? Though he's the most pretentious person of trouble *3*!”

“Yeah, no, I don't remember who he is because I was there just for a little while. Nothing works.”

“Oh, it’s okay. How many times have you moved? Me 10.”

“M... 14.”

“Wow, cool!”

The first compliment from someone about the large number of my halfway houses made me smile. I never knew moving around a lot of orphanages was something to be proud of. But, do I know what?

“Waw! Your smile is so sweet, let's make friends!” Nina shrugged her hands with her sweet and wide smile.

She was the first girlfriend I ever had, it all flowed naturally until we depended on each other. I watched him find his biological father from a self-contained DNA test kit from home. If I don't want to know who my parents are, then it's different with Nina.

He who was originally so enthusiastic when he found the father, swallowed a bitter pill when he understood the father was a person who fared no better than him, even wanted to mengk*s4nya when he tried to get close. I accompanied his bleakest times.  Spending a few days sitting pensively by the river Themes, I was afraid he was reckless and thought about jumping.

Until, a party invitation from David that unites the two of them like letters and stamps. Even though Nina's time for me has been seized, I don't mind. Because of the bright side, Nina again became a cheerful person as I know her.

My heart aches considering all this, Nina doesn't deserve to die like that. If all this was done, I would have strolled his ashes in the river Themes like his former request was uttered jokingly, oh Nina.

On the last step, I waited for Ray.

Beep it!

The horn from Ray spread my daydream, I buried my face deeper and deeper with the tip of Remi's hat and then ran quickly towards the car whose door was open. Hup! I threw my bok0ng into his soft seat.

Without wasting any time, Ray drove across the streets of London late into the twilight, straight to Langdon's residence. I bit my lip thinking about what to talk about there in the midst of the chaos. While I was so longing to wrestle on my warm dorm bed.

Ray's car pulled over directly inside the Langdon family's garage. Avoiding a reporter's snapshot outside the fence watching us like a predator chasing prey. In their hands they have prepared a camera with a lens that is so long to get good image quality. I've never felt so exposed like this.

“Hey, Meha. We wait for Remi, otherwise Leah will skin you alive inside, wrong or right.”

“Okay.”

“Now I understand why Remi is so infatuated with you Meha, you are indeed different from the girls who have been close to her.”

“What is it, a compliment?”

“Of course, he never did this to them before, clumsy and shy in front of a woman. Haha, I'm glad to have the ingredients to tease her from now on.”

“You two look close.”

Ray's face was suddenly sad as if remembering something, “Well, yeah. He lifted me from the puddle.” I could not ask what he meant when Remi's car arrived beside us.

“Hey, keep that wiry mouth of yours away from Meha.”

Instead of complying, Ray put his hand on my shoulder and led us in together, Remi poked his head in from behind, making him pretend to complain. Their behavior is ridiculous and childish.

“Well, why did you bother bringing a murderer to this house, Remi.”

Leah stared cynically, in her hands never off the champagne glass that was almost finished.
