“How is the girl doing?”
“Not yet awake because it still lost a lot of blood Sir.”
“Report the situation to me directly, place two guards in front of his room. He's our key witness, we don't want to risk losing him.”
“Good, Sir.”
I heard faintly the conversation from the outside still with my eyes closed, my consciousness trying to knock to the surface but my physique was powerless. Darkness seems easier to reach than light. I was dragged back to the pull of my fatigue again.
Time disorientation, feeling tired. I don't know how long it's been like I've been running around in thick fog barefoot. The grass under my feet was wet muddy, the hospital pajamas I wore were dirty, the interstices began to itch.
“Meha... Meha...!” Again I listened to Nina's screaming voice, for that I ran, looking for the source of her voice.
The only light source in the distance was like a lighthouse that was my escape destination. Through the mist.
“Meha... Meha... Don't!” this time Nina's screams changed.
“NINA...! You where?! Wait for me!”
“Me... Meha... WAKEUP!” Nina's scream suddenly appeared before me with bulging eyes, making me shocked and waking up on my warm hospital bed.
“SHUT... A SHOCK! BRUGH!” The silence was split apart by an odd sound from outside the room.
“Czech!” someone opened the door of my room and walked carefully without making a sound. My instincts tell me that this guy's intentions aren't good. I carefully dribbled the infusion rope with my right hand and grasped it tightly. Still with half-covered eyes.
The alien silhouette approached, pointing its silenced pistol at my temple.
Die. The corner doesn't fit me for an impromptu attack. Now or no chance at all.
A split second later, the momentum of the gun spewed out its ammunition, my left hand already grasping its barrel, pointing its angle past my head.
“SHUT!” Ammunition is muffled foam visitor chair.
Before my killer could react, I had wrapped the infusion hose around his neck tightly from behind locking his motionless body with my two free legs, his hands flailing and grabbing my hair.
“AAARGH!!” I shouted as my scalp was hot as if it was about to come off, my pull on the infusion tube around his neck getting stronger.
I did not care about the pain in my head, because if I let my guard down a little then the situation will quickly turn around not supporting me.
Realizing that his position was unfavorable, the hand that had taken my hair was used to elbow my hips firmly, I shouted without a sound. But still remembered not to let go of my grip on the infusion hose.
Desperate, the assailant now used both hands to loosen the snare of the infusion on his neck in a panic.
1... 2... 3... 4.. seconds later when the oxygen intake in the head of the attacker completely lost and I no longer feel the resistance from his body.
I pushed the assailant's body rough from the top of my body until he fell on the floor. I took off the infusion tube that was still stuck from my hand. Likewise with some patches that stick to my chest and forehead.
Just glanced at the wall clock and the atmosphere outside that was still dark. Waste no time, snatched the coat worn by the assailant and rushed out of the room. I saw two guards dressed in police clothes in front of my room dead, as well as three nurses at the front counter, my killer was no joke.
Sneaking through the hospital security room lying on his chair with a leaky temple. Look at the CCTV monitor screen to make sure there are no follow-up attacks.
Through the emergency stairs, I escaped from the hospital barefoot.
DONG DONG DONG DONG
The sound of the cathedral bells in the distance rang 6 times.
Just as I was coming downstairs, the dawn breaking from the eastern horizon, I turned away from the big road, entering the narrow passages somewhere. My momentary decision was to dodge at random. I don't know who else is after my life.
Arriving at the intersection, I found that I was in a quiet suburban residential neighborhood. Why did they bring me here? Far from the city? By putting my jacket together I was accelerating. When suddenly a van stopped right beside me, the tires were squeaking loudly, not yet had I acted, he said, two pairs of hands smothered my mouth and curled my body into a van that was immediately closed and speeding away.
“Hmmmph!” revolted.
“Shut! Ouch!” scream in pain the man who smothered my mouth when his finger was bitten by me.
“Daniel?! What the fuck?!”
“Let me explain, in the meantime we will take you to a safe place. Please, trust us.”
“Your request is excessive considering how you took me.” Sinis I glanced at my captors who kept holding my body tight.
“Forced Meha, this is the only way for you to come with us in no time.”
“What do you want! Put me down now!” I rebelled with all my might.
“Meha! Meha! Calm down. We're planning on taking you somewhere safe. Trust.”
“What plan?! I will rebel if you force your will, reflecting from experience, I have learned to no longer easily trust people.”
“OK, okay. Listen, we're taking you to my acquaintance's TV station. What you're dismantling is Meha's national scandal. Many important people will be dragged. If this information is not thrown to the public, I fear it will sink and you will be silenced forcibly.”
“Friends! There's a black car following us! Hold on! I'll raise the speed!” shouted the driver who was a woman, without waiting for our approval he immediately hit the gas splitting the streets deserted that morning.
The day had just begun as newly-wake people watched two cars with city numbers driving recklessly. Swears were heard along the way.
“Rene! They're already on the side!”
“Tsk! Irritatingly. Dude, get ready for a clash!” Rene slammed the steering wheel to the left. Our bodies crammed into each other in the passenger seat due to the violent impact earlier.
The stalker car was off the pedestrian but was quickly controlled and this time was aiming for our car at high speed!
“They pulled out a gun!” shouted the man on my left and followed him out of his gun as well.
“Gosh. Don't again!” I cringed tiredly to the side.
Shooting is inevitable. Friend Daniel was shot and killed, I ducked deeper into the passenger seat.
DOR'S!
The shot again from the side hit Rene's neck.
“And-Dani... el.” Rene was not helped.
“Tidaaak! Rene!!” Daniel roared sadly but took over the wheel with his free hand.
The car slowed down right on the edge of the bridge, the stalker car hit our car until it hit the barrier. The car we were riding plunged freely into the calm water.
“Sorry, Meha..”
That's the only word that came out of Daniel when our eyes came together before the violent collision with the water, before long the car was filled with water. Daniel's neck was drooping awkwardly, I guess due to the impact with the airbag that ballooned suddenly, his eyes on me were lifeless.
My heart screams to lose my friends one by one. But now that I have to save myself, the water is almost full. With one deep breath I dived looking for a way out.
The door can't be opened, it's locked automatically. The only way out was through an open window and blocked by Daniel's dead body, I got rid of the body quickly before I ran out of air.
The car had sunk to the bottom and dragged by the current, I came out of the direction of the current to avoid myself from being trapped in the car body again. My chest was already so tight that I asked for air.
With the rest of my energy I swam to the surface. A flash of memory jolted to remember about the light from the lighthouse in my dream last night.
It feels like I'm still a little bit older, but my lungs aren't strong. As I was about to give up following the flow, a hand grabbed me up.
I was pulled up onto a lifeboat and sprawled in its hull coughing for air as a face appeared above me with a false grin.
“Well, hello Meha.”
