Became A Blind Villain
Edmund's Decision.

Edmund woke up again and found himself in a simple room made of wood, someone seemed to be doing something next to his bed, seen the man was arranging things in the closet.

The man had long hair tied to his chest and as the man turned around, he saw Edmund had regained his senses and could not help but smile.

"You sleep like a dead buffalo." These were the first words Ramus said to Edmund that made Edmund's face dark.

Edmund tried to move and unlike before he was so painstaking to sit down, now he could do it more easily.

"How long have I been unconscious?" ask Edmund.

"Three days."

Edmund's eyes widened, "Three days?"

Ramus nodded. "Yes, that's why I said you slept like a dead buffalo ... Hey hey, what are you doing?"

Ramus asked as soon as he saw Edmund trying to get off his bed.

Holding his bandaged stomach, Edmund looked at Ramus and said, "I have to go home, my parents must be very worried about me."

He had been gone for days without any news, how could they not worry? Edmund had to hurry back home and see his parents.

Goddamnit! The bad girl ... Huh! Edmund again cursed inwardly, what he expected of the wicked girl, that morning when he woke up he asked for three wishes, he said, the girl said she would agree to his request and Edmund asked to go home. However, the evil girl acted as if she was an angel by saying that she needed to rest even longer because she had just given her the medicine. The wicked girl said that she would tell people to drive her home in the afternoon.

At that time Edmund thought that the evil girl might have changed. However, the truth was that he had told his father to hold him for three days!

Ramus who saw him rushed to stop him.

"Let me go." Edmund says.

Ramus raised his eyebrows and said, "Three requests, are you not going to take them."

Edmund stopped and turned to look at Ramus.

Ramus throws a pouch and Edmund catches it. It was heavy and clattering, as Edmund opened it, it was filled with gold coins and gemstones.

His eyes widened and Edmund's hand holding the pouch almost shook and dropped the treasure that he could only imagine. Edmund immediately held tightly to the bag as if he had not done so, his treasure would have vanished into delusion. 

Edmund then looked at Ramus, still with a shocked face.

"Lady Ashlyn fulfilled your three requests. Become Lady Ashlyn's personal servant, letting you join the knight Daren Lynx and a bag of gold coins and gemstones. Three requests, Lady Ashlyn responded."

Upon hearing this, Edmund gulps his saliva and momentarily thinks that Ashlyn might not be that bad. But Ramus then said.

"But to become a knight is not as easy as swinging a twig. You're probably gonna die with a lot of training and Lady Ashlyn doesn't care. Duke Damien has reminded Lady Ashlyn, but Lady Ashlyn says life or death is your choice and Lady Ashlyn doesn't care, duke Damien therefore agrees to Lady Ashlyn's request to make you a member of the Daren Lynx knights. However, you should always remember, you are a normal human being, what you would accept to be a knight would probably drive you crazy. So, you better give up and save your life before it's too late."

Listening to all those words, Edmund squeezed the golden bag in his hand.

What's he thinking? For a moment this golden bag almost blinded his eyes. Of course, Ashlyn, that evil girl will never change. Even if the evil girl agreed to her three wishes, she still had a petty mind and when she asked to join Daren Lynx's army, she was left alone, the girl probably laughed happily behind her calm face.

The wicked girl knew that to become a knight was not easy, much less that she was just someone from a low caste, a poor ordinary human being, which even the palace alone refused him to join the royal army.

The girl must have calculated that she might die if she joined the Daren Lynx army, even if she would die before she received the title of knight, the girl had already calculated it, that's why he said he didn't care.

Squeezing the golden bag in his hand, Edmund stared intently at Ramus and said, "I will not retreat, this is the path I take."

Ramus simply smiled and shook his head at Edmund's decision.

He was not being bad at this person because this woman was the owner of the house whose family had rented to stay all this time.

"Fuckin' kid doesn't know it's lucky, you grew up well but you can't help your family at all! If you knew you were poor, you should have worked harder to make money, but all you did was wander around indistinctly, making your parents stop worrying about a child like you. Edmund was scolded, there were some words that he could understand, but there were some that he did not understand and when he realized it, Edmund's face immediately turned deathly pale.

"What happened to my parents? Tell me what happened to them? Where's them?"

Edmund asked as if he was a lunatic as he shook the landlady.

The woman shook Edmund's hand. "Now you're just asking about them. They're dead, two strangers came looking for you three days ago and when they didn't find you, they killed your parents!"

When he heard this, Edmund's eyes opened wide.

Seeing Edmund's shock the woman increasingly wanted to curse. "Tell me, what sins do your parents have that make you have a child like you. Trouble bearer! I don't want to see your face again, get out of here and never come back!"

The woman kicked him out and Edmund soon came to his senses from his shock. "Liar! You just want to kick us out because we can't pay the rent."

Edmund then took out his gold bag and took out a handful of gold coins and gemstones, handing it to the landlady who was immediately shocked upon seeing him.

"I paid for it, I paid for it." Edmund said, "Now tell me that my parents are fine and tell me where they are. Where did you throw them out, tell me!" Edmund snaps.

The hand of the landlady trembled as she held the pile of gold coins and glittering gemstones in her hand. His heart was very happy, but then his face turned dark and pale, the happiness was gone swept away by fear and anger.

The landlady then threw all the gold and gemstones into Edmund's face.

The landlady roared and was about to walk away, but Edmund held her back. His deep eyes looked at the woman and frightened her.

"Tell me where my parents are!"

The woman trembled but her little heart still held a hint of courage. "You think where else can people like you go when they die. The kingdom will burn their bodies with another pile of corpses like firewood, there is no land left to bury the poor, you will end up in ashes and be thrown into the ocean!"

Edmund's eyes widened and the corners of his eyes reddened, his face strained and the veins on his forehead bulged out, his teeth chattered and the hand holding the shoulder began to grip tightly as if he wanted to tear the landlady's shoulder.

The woman was in pain and tried to break away, when she managed to break away, she immediately left Edmund alone.

While Ashlyn was sitting leisurely sipping tea, the days passed and her training went smoothly, she was already progressing, but there was one thing that plagued her mind.

However, Ashlyn instead laughed before letting out a long sigh. "Cowardly, so he's just a big mouth, when all the money I gave him runs out, he won't have anything else."

Hearing that, Ramus and Vincent including Carolin could not help but think that this evil Ashlyn did indeed want to see Ashlan die while undergoing strenuous training! That's why he looks disappointed and wonders if Ashlan didn't come.

While Edmund had finished off all the gold and gemstones Ashlyn had given him, he threw them into the sea and said it was all for his parents. For days, he lived by the beach like a man who didn't want to live anymore.

Ignoring the wounds on his body as well as the cold coastal wind at night and ignoring the hot sun during the day, Edmund stayed on the beach for days until Annabel came to see him.

Annabel finds out about what happened when she went to the supermarket and decides to visit Edmund's house because she hasn't seen Edmund every time she goes to the supermarket.

Usually Edmund will greet him near the fountain pool in the middle of the supermarket. The young man had helped her a lot, Annabel could not forget her kindness and she had not been to see Edmund's parents for a long time either. So he went there and found out the bad news.

Annabel could only widen her eyes and close her mouth when she heard that and asked where Edmund was to the landlady.

The landlady did not tell him clearly, but Annabel could guess that the boy must have been on the beach. "Why is the world so unfair?" Edmund asked.

Annabel shook her head and rubbed Edmund's back.

"It's okay, it's okay, Edmund. Everything's gonna be fine. Everything that happens always has a good side in it, this world may not be fair to you Edmund, but believe me, you good people and good people always get good things."

Edmund swallowed his saliva and his tears had dried up, how could this girl always think positively?

The world is not fair to him.

Why did he have to be born poor, why did this world have to take away his parents, why did this world make him suffer, why did this world make her experience all this and why couldn't she be with this girl? So how is the world fair to him?

The world is not fair to him!

"Annabel, the world is not fair to me."

Annabel let go of her embrace and shook her head. "No Edmund, someday this world will look fair to you, don't be sad, everything will be fine."

Edmund watched Annabel. See how the girl grieves for him as he slumped, only this girl would cry for him and give him a warm hug. Just this girl.

"Annabel, you're the only person in the world who would want to be by my side, accept me for who I am, grieve and cry for me, you don't even feel disgusted at me when others look down on me. You're the only one Annabel."

Annabel shook her head again. "No, Edmund. I'm sure you'll find your happiness someday and meet good people in the future. Edmund stared at the gentle smile on Annabel's face and his desire to love this person grew deeper and deeper to the point of wanting it.

Annabel looked at Edmund who looked calmer and wiped away his tears.

Upon hearing that, Edmund could not help but smile.
