Became A Blind Villain

Became A Blind Villain
The Regrets of Duke Damien 2

Ayana, ah not now her name is Ashlyn.

Ashlyn sat quietly in her room for some time, at least she had to show the world that she was Ashlyn who was on the brink of blindness.

It was easy, Ashlyn only needed to shut herself up for three days and three nights and refused to eat, showing her grief and despair in front of everyone just like Ayana did back then.

However, to do so is really not easy. Ashlyn even thought how she could resist hunger for the next three days, she would starve to death if she really did!

His stomach rang again, for some time and all he could do was lie on his bed and roll around holding his hunger.

But as to why she had to endure hunger, Ashlyn had suffered so much that she was blinded and rejected outright by loved ones. Ashlyn's heart must have suffered so much that Ayana didn't want to torture Ashlyn's body anymore, if she was hungry she would eat, if she was thirsty then she would drink.

Yeah, like that. Life is to be enjoyed, why it must be made difficult.

Meanwhile Duke Damien sat in his study while reading some reports he received from his subordinates who served in the Wallor mountains. There was a barrier that made it difficult for his troops to move and waited for Duke Damien to come to help.

Duke is desperate to go and do his job, but his family's current condition requires him more as the head of the family. He had devoted so much to the empire and had sacrificed his family which resulted in this chaos.

Because of this, the Duke is aware that he can no longer turn a blind eye to his family's condition and will no longer easily trust others if he does not see it for himself.

All right, my ass!

Duke Damien was so angry that he wanted to split a mountain and burn a forest! As he hears all the stories coming out of the mouth of Bin the butler who has worked on his family for years even since Duke Damien's father was alive.

Bin is the only person he can trust and the story he tells makes him want to come to Arabella and demand answers about the truth of the story.

The power and the possessions that the Duke possessed had blinded Arabella. Bin recounts Arabella and Ashlyn's relationship, like water and oil, is unmatched and always opposite. They don't care about each other and ignore each other.

Early in their marriage, Arabella treated Ashlyn well and attentively, but ever since the boy turned down her kindness with a dislike look, Arabella started to walk away from him and stopped trying. Even Arabella just let Ashlyn go to the servants for granted while giving Annabel all the best attention and affection.

The duke did not expect that Arabella would become this kind of woman after marrying him. In the past, when Damien first met Arabella, he was really touched at how beautiful she was and her gentle attitude towards others. Even seeing how Arabella loved her daughter so much made her wish that Ashlyn could also get Arabella's affection.

However, who would have thought that Ashlyn had never even received that affection at all. It is fitting that their attitude when at the dining table seems foreign. However, Duke Damien could not notice it because he was rarely at home and when he came home, he only wanted to rest so as not to notice small things like this.

"Then, tell me what about all the gifts I send every year?" Duke Damien asked as he thought about how many precious stones he sent home each year.

Bin politely replied, "Everything falls into the responsibility of Duchess Arabella, Her Royal Highness the Duke."

Damien squeezed his hand. "What about Ashlyn?"

Bin still replied calmly and politely. "Miss Ashlyn only got a few, but when she saw that the items given to Miss Annabel were better than hers, Miss Ashlyn never wanted to receive any more presents."

"Didn't he get mad at Annabel and Arabella back then?"

"No, Mister. Miss Ashlyn did not show her anger, she simply did not want to accept any more gifts from then on."

"And all the gifts were given to Annabel?"

"Yes, sir."

Damien's brows furrowed, listening to Bin's story, Damien could have thought that his daughter's nature was a little similar to her, when she was angry about something that he thought was trivial he was more than happy to be quiet and not to bother about it. He thinks it's a waste of time if he's angry for the little things.

Wait a minute ... Duke Damien thought of something and thought maybe this was what made Ashlyn hate him and thought it never existed for Ashlyn, never paid attention to her because she sent out items that were of lower quality than Annabel's gifts.

Her innocent daughter may have thought that she paid more attention to her new wife and child than to herself and Ashlyn ended up thinking that she was never in Duke Damien's eyes, therefore he did not bother to get angry and argue with Arabella and Annabel.

However, for the Crown Prince's case why Ashlyn was so defending and fighting to get it to do despicable things to hurt Annabel.

Ah, if remembered again it seems that night Ashlyn said that Annabel had taken everything from her. So, maybe Ashlyn's patience has finally run out and exploded to this extent.

"Is that right, Ashlyn saved the Crown Prince?"

"That's right, sir. Miss Ashlyn brought the Crown Prince from Merlyn beach and Miss Annabel was the one who took care of the Crown Prince until he recovered."

Duke Damien tapped his long index finger on the table as if he was thinking of something.

"Ashlyn still likes to go to the beach?"

"Yes, Sir. Almost every week he's going to the beach."

Hearing that Duke Damien sighed, a glimpse of Ashlyn's shadow as a child appeared in his mind. The boy looked very happy when he first saw the beach and refused to go home when it was getting dark, he said he wanted to stay on the beach because he really liked the beach, the blue sea white sand and the wind that hit his face, the boy was very unwilling to leave it all behind.

The boy still loves the beach. Duke Damien closed his eyes for a moment to rest.

What should he do for his family?

Ashlyn is his only daughter and Arabella is the woman he loves. How does he have to deal with this?

After thinking of this Duke Damien reopened his eyes and walked out of his study and headed towards Ashlyn's room, but he found no one there and a servant told him that Ashlyn had gone to get some fresh air.

"Has he eaten?" Damien asked the waiter who told him.

The waiter carefully nodded his head. "Yes, Sir. Miss had already finished her meal before deciding to take a walk in the park."

Hearing that, Damien felt his heart quite relieved. When Ashlyn refuses to eat, she fears the boy will fall ill and his condition worsens.

"How was Ashlyn's mood when she ate and went to the park? Who's accompanying him?"

"Miss Ashlyn ate quietly and showed no expression. He went with some waitresses and Vian."

"Didn't he look sad?"

"No, Mister. Actually we barely know what Miss Ashlyn is thinking, her face is flat and does not show any expression."

Hearing this Duke Damien simply waved his hand. "Continue your observation and report Ashlyn's progress to me impeccably."

The waiter bowed respectfully, "Okay, sir. According to your orders."

After saying that, the servant resigned while Duke Damien stared at the tiny girl standing in the vastness of the rose field. The girl was a quiet place and enjoyed the atmosphere there, her eyes were closed, her gray hair looked like silver glittering when doused in the sunshine.

Her face was slightly brighter with a red hue on both her cheeks and her previously pale lips now looked pink like a glittering peach.

Seeing this appearance, Duke Damien completely remembered that figure ... Mother Ashlyn. The nameless woman who had gone missing was nowhere.
