Chapters. 36 - Horn Beetle

To make sure that what was happening inside his dream did not really happen, Xiao Ruo immediately ran towards Xiao Qing Xuan's room which was in the main building. The distance that was far enough made Xiao Ruo take a long time to get there. Then, after he reached the front of a house in front of the tabebuya flower garden, Xiao Ruo immediately slammed the door and went inside. However, shortly after he noticed the contents, he did not also notice the existence of Xiao Qing Xuan whereas, at this time of day had been very night and the moon was right above their heads.

Not wanting to waste his time by going to an empty place, he ran back to look for the whereabouts of Xiao Qing Xuan unknown to him. The residence was so vast that, it made Xiao Ruo difficult when searching for it. Moreover, there was not a single servant that was passing around the residence so, Xiao Ruo had to look for him himself.

Then, shortly after he continued to run and arrived in front of a lotus lake. He saw a young man who was bowing among the tall grass. He seemed to be looking for something in there. He continued to dig the ground until, in the end, he lifted a horn beetle in his hand.

”Zhi Shuang! I found one!” exclaiming the young man who invited the attention of a boy who appeared from within the grass. The boy looked very happy and immediately ran over to the young man.

As if he was very familiar with this voice, Xiao Ruo exclaimed, ”Adik Xuan!” he said that managed to make the young man look at him.

Then, shortly after, the young man's face was finally seen and it was Xiao Qing Xuan who was helping Zhi Shuang pick up the horn beetle around the lake.

”Ah! Brother Ruo! Come and help me here!” xiao Qing Xuan exclaimed as he waved his hands high.

Xiao Ruo immediately ran over to him. At the moment, he felt that everything seemed fine. He was just too worried about it when, there was not a single bad thing happening here.

”Why is sister Xuan here? You're not sleeping?” xiao Ruo asked as he looked at Xiao Qing Xuan who was still wearing her nightgown that was just a sheet without wearing a robe to warm herself up.

While giving the beetle to Zhi Shuang, Xiao Qing Xuan replied, ”I came to help him. Zhi Shuang said, mister panda has eye pain. So, she came to me in the middle of the night to help her find the horn beetle.”

Xiao Ruo immediately stared towards Zhi Shuang coldly.

Zhi Shuang's eyes immediately glazed over in fear when he saw it. He immediately went to take cover behind Xiao Qing Xuan's back and was reluctant to stare at Xiao Ruo who looked angry at him.

”Don't scare her too much. His strength had not recovered at all. If Brother Ruo is furious about hitting him, you can do it when he has regained his strength. For now, you can only treat her like a child.” Xiao Qing Xuan explained.

Xiao Ruo sighed and said, ”At least don't have nights like this! It's too dangerous if you hang around here! There are many enemies and magical beasts that always attack at night!”

Xiao Qing Xuan turned her head however, she still stared at Xiao Ruo as she said, ”You how else? Zhi Shuang keeps forcing me and I can't do anything other than obey his words.”

Xiao Ruo started to look at the two in annoyance. Then, not long after, he pulled Xiao Qing Xuan's hand and headed somewhere.

”Heh? Ruo sister is taking me where?” xiao Qing Xuan asked who looked astonished upon seeing him.

Xiao Ruo immediately replied, ”Certainly return to your room!”

”How about Zhi Shuang? Don't leave a child alone in the middle of the night!” continued Xiao Qing Xuan who instantly got an answer, ”... Just leave him! Besides, it's hundreds of years old! Shortly after, he will definitely be back!”

As the two left, Zhi Shuang would only watch them from behind while holding a bottle filled with horn beetles. Most of these beetles were discovered by Xiao Qing Xuan temporarily, he could only stand still while watching them from a distance.

Shortly after he felt alone and was still where he stood, someone came and patted him on the shoulder from behind. He felt very surprised and immediately turned to look at a tall young man who was there.

Liu Zhang Chen smiled and rubbed his head as he said, ”Day is already very night. You better get some sleep. I will accompany you to the.” room he said as he pulled Zhi Shuang's hand.

Zhi Shuang stepped behind him. He showed the bottle containing his horn beetle to Liu Zhang Chen and said, ”See! Brother Xuan caught this beetle for me! Don't they all look beautiful?” he said while watching himself.

Liu Zhang Chen was silent for a while and asked, ”Have you lied to him so you could play with him?”

Zhi Shuang was instantly shocked when he heard that. He was silent with his guilty-looking face and shortly after, he nodded his head.

Liu Zhang Chen asked back, ”Why do you want to play with him in the middle of the night like this?”

Zhi Shuang looked at him with an innocent looking expression and said, ”... That creepy brother was with her all the time. So, I can't play with him during the day.”

”How about me?” liu Zhang Chen asked back which made it awkward for Zhi Shuang to answer him.

”A-I don't want to trouble big brother Chen! From morning to evening, I always see you busy. So, I chose to play with Mr. Panda. Before that creepy brother came back here, I always played with big brother Xuan. So, right now I'm lying because I want to play with him again.” he said awkwardly while lowering his head. However, Liu Zhang Chen still understood what was explained by him.

He rubbed his head and said, ”... Just tell him you want to play. He definitely won't turn it down.”

In the meantime, on the other side. Xiao Qing Xuan was instantly thrown into her room by the cold-looking Xiao Ruo. He initially felt astonished by the new nature experienced by Xiao Ruo. But when Xiao Ruo said, ”I will be here until you sleep!” it made Xiao Qing Xuan instantly goosebumps and dare not say anything to her.

Xiao Qing Xuan directly put her back on the cot lazily. He turned his head towards the tightly shut door and behind it, had stood Xiao Ruo who was still standing there.

”Haah,... It felt like being watched at all times.” Inner Xiao Qing Xuan who looked annoyed.

”Kak Ruo! Why do you look so cold this time? Did I make a mistake with you?” xiao Qing Xuan asked Xiao Ruo who was behind the door.

A while after, Xiao Ruo did not answer his question either. He was only speechless there even though he actually heard what Xiao Qing Xuan had told him.

Not getting an answer either, Xiao Qing Xuan preferred to pull out her blanket and said, ”It doesn't matter if you don't want to answer it. I'll just sleep!” he said while turning his back to the door.

Just as Xiao Qing Xuan was actually about to fall asleep, from behind the door came Xiao Ruo's voice that replied, ”... Because I had a really bad dream and I was hoping it would never happen. Jiu Meishan will come here to take it from you.”
