Being a Dad to My Niece

Being a Dad to My Niece
Chapter 58. Arga's Regret

Chapter 58.

"Who's calling?"

"Eyang Sari's. Isn't that Kak Arga's grandmother, is it?" Gunawan asked back.

"Hm." Arga just retaliates like that. He was lazy to talk about his grandmother.

"Then, there was a woman named Goddess here. He said that from tomorrow he would work here to help Mr. Barata" Gunawan said.

'The goddess? I thought he was just on vacation here. Didn't he work on the eyang kakung plantation as a financial holder?' inner Arga.

The Barata family owns some of the rice fields. They also received the produce from the citizens who wanted to sell it to him. Later, it will be distributed to several markets in sub-districts, districts, cities or provinces.

In contrast to Bagas whose agricultural sales have been to several major cities in Java, there are even those who cross the island. The area of land that hectares and many types of plants grown by it are also very much. However, marketing competition with Barata has never been frayed. They already have customers or places to sell each.

Small farmers who often struggle to sell out of crops prefer to sell to Barata. In addition to the price adjusted according to the agreement, the money will also be directly received. They feel equally benefited.

Actually Barata is more the recipient of grain from the harvest of farmers. He also taught farmers how to count so that they would not be cheated by a croupier or middleman. How much capital they use, how long they take in the process of planting it until harvest. He did not want to take much advantage by utilizing those farmers. Hence many people prefer to sell their produce to Barata.

Arga opened some bookkeeping on the table that was often used by the father. He saw the efforts of his parents were still stable from a few years ago. Although there are so many buying and selling activities in a day.

"It is fitting that they often refuse my monthly grant money," Arga murmured at the sight of Barata cooperative's bookkeeping opinion.

All of Barata's land used to belong to Ayu's parents. Then, he bought everything and the money was distributed to all Ayu's brothers. The man was born from a family that knows how to manage the produce of the earth, so he applied his knowledge here and succeeded. In fact he can also buy some fields of rice fields sold by the locals.

The livelihoods of most of the villagers are farmers and sellers. Few were civil servants or factory workers. Hence Sakti wants to advance the standard of living of residents in his village. He rejected all requests of some companies that wanted him to work for their company.

"It's a shame that Sakti can't run his dream," Arga muttered when he saw a photo of Sakti giving counseling to villagers how to manage the earth's products.

'If I marry Marsha again. Should I just stay here, huh?' inner Arga.

"Isssssh, it feels like to quickly get married again," said Arga with a sweet smile on his face.

Arga's young soul is back. Just remembering Marsha, she was glad she wasn't curled up. Especially if you can actually have the woman completely.

Magrib Arga has just returned to his parents' home. He intended to go straight into his room, but Sari confronted him.

"What would you do if you went home?" ask Sari.

"I mean Eyang?" Arga asked back with eyes squinting.

"Go from early in the morning and come home almost at night. What are you doing out there with that cheap lady?" Sari spoke with sarcasm and it made Arga's emotions again disturbed.

Ayu who saw that instantly pulled Arga's hand to get away from her grandmother. The woman knew that the boy did not like anyone to demonize Marsha.

This day the old woman was angry all the time. He who felt very disappointed by Marsha. So everyone got hit. Moreover, the son-in-law continues to get scolding and innuendo.

"You don't get easily provoked by emotions like eye-to-eye speech. Hopefully the anger is only a moment and tomorrow it is back as usual again," said Ayu and Arga nodded even though his heart was still upset.

At dinner everyone gathers. Arga had refused because he did not want to have another debate with his grandmother. However, Ayu again persuaded him not to get angry as eyed.

"How is the Goddess's cooking? It's delicious, isn't it?" sari asked with a big smile on her already wrinkled face.

The woman who was named immediately felt embarrassed to mix happily because she got compliments. He also stole a look at Arga who seemed not to respond to Sari's chat.

"Eh." Assented by Ayu also Barata with a nod.

The two of them did not want to provoke Sari's emotions. After all he was an old man that they should be happy about and make him comfortable living there.

Sari's eyes squinted when she saw Arga eating only rice. That's also very little.

"Goddess, get me some lodeh and fried chicken for Arga!" sari's orders.

Then, swiftly Dewi immediately stood up and took a vegetable spoon. The woman was about to pour her homemade vegetables onto Arga's plate.

"Tid—"

Arga did not finish his speech when he felt a kick on his leg under the dining table. He also looked towards his mother. The woman gave the code do not fight.

"Enough. I'm not eating meat" said Arga when the Goddess was about to put chicken thighs onto the plate.

Barata all day had to nag his mother because she had married Arga to Marsha who was pregnant at that time. Even though he had explained the events of that time, still the mother did not want to accept an explanation from him. The man also defended Sari's allegations against Marsha.

"That will not allow you to go back to the woman" Sari said as she watched Arga stand up from the chair.

"I don't need Eyang's permission to marry Marsha. All I need is permission from Bagas' father," Arga replied and left the dining room.

The goddess who saw that then rubbed Sari's back and tried to calm her emotions. He knew very well how to get the old woman's heart. Living decades together with him certainly knows how his character and character.

"Eyang, don't be so angry. I will get sick again. Not that tomorrow wants to play with Alva. If it hurts how to play," said Dewi.

Sari nodded as well. He felt a longing for the little boy. Some days stay here, he already knows that Barata or Ayu often bring Alva play here.

"really. Barata don't forget to bring Alva here!" sari's orders to her son.
