Chapter 9. The Unexpected Guest

Andri stopped his kiss, then slightly raised his body with both hands still gripping Yuan's wrist. He smiled slanted. Shortly after, Andri's laughter exploded.

"Didn't you tease your sister-in-law? I am paralyzed! But I can still warm you up in bed! But ...." Andri sat down and linked his fingers.

"Looking at your behavior in the garden earlier made me sick! It seems you are also reluctant for me to touch! You must also actually be disgusted to have a lame husband like me? You're only after the inheritance that will be given after I die, aren't you?"

Hearing all the accusations made by Andri made Yuan's heart as if squeezed. The woman got up from the bed, then twisted the body so that she and Andri faced each other.

Yuan's jaw hardened with wet eyes preparing to shed tears. Either getting the power from nowhere, Yuan directly landed a punch to Andri's cheek. Andri was silent.

Andri did not expect Yuan to get that angry with his words. But what does it matter? For Andri, Yuan is still a woman who only wants treasure like other women who try to get close.

"Thank you for the accusations you've given me, Mom! But remember one thing ...." Yuan's voice trembled as he was about to say his promise.

"I'll make sure you regret what you said just now! I will remain in this family, until you realize that I want to marry you for being sincere! It was forced at first, but when I saw you in person .. My heart kept pounding!" Yuan had already subconsciously expressed his feelings to Andri.

"Simply shine your tongue! You think I'm gonna believe all your bullshit?" Andri smiled sinisterly while narrowing her eyes.

"Whatever Mas Andri! You always look down on me! But, I will prove that what you think of me is all wrong! When that happens, may I still be patient and not just leave you!"

Yuan immediately stood up from the bed, then walked towards the bathroom. He locked the small, damp room. Not forgetting she also turned on the shower so that her broken cries were not heard by Andri.

Tangis Yuan really sounded bitter. The woman's tears were now mixed with the brunt of the cold water that flushed her body. Yuan vented all his sadness that night as well.

From that day on, the cold war between Yuan and Andri was getting worse. There was no conversation between the two. Yuan simply prepared Andri's needs in silence then left to avoid chatting with the husband.

That afternoon Yuan and Drini chatted lightly in the garden. They sit casually accompanied by warm tea and some traditional snacks typical of Surabaya. Sometimes the two throw jokes at each other.

Drini also shared stories about her household story which also started from an arranged marriage. Yuan listened to all of Drini's old stories enthusiastically. However, the chatter of the two had to stop when Sumi suddenly approached them with a panicked face.

"Mom, excuse me. .. somebody's been there." Sumi looked scared when conveying a message from the guest.

"Who?" drini asked casually while smiling gently.

"It ... anu ... his name is Mbak Mutiara from Pidie, Aceh."

Hearing that name, suddenly made Drini stare. Yuan who did not know anything could only gawk at Drini's change in expression. He did not want to ask the in-laws about the woman named Pearl.

"Yes, Mom." Sumi said goodbye and went back into the house.

Yuan observed Drini's puzzled facial expression. Even the in-laws started to sweat coldly. The tip of Drini's lips was seen trembling when he was about to talk again with Yuan.

"A little while, huh, Yuan? I met our distant guests first. You wait here, yeah?"

Yuan did not answer in the least. The woman just nodded while smiling gently. Drini walked quickly to the door.

Yuan observed Drini's back growing farther away and disappeared behind the door. There was no suspicion about the arrival of the woman. Yuan tried to think positively.

It is possible that the woman named Pearl was their distant brother who did not meet for a long time or something. Yuan eventually chose to enjoy the twilight alone in the backyard garden. He continued to be there until I heard the sound of a call to worship.

"The mosquitoes are coming!" yuan said while patting his arm that was infested by mosquitoes.

Yuan finally decided to go into the house. As she stepped into the room, Drini, Andri, and the young woman were sitting together in the living room. Andri sat on his wheelchair next to the woman.

"Yuan, come here, son!" call Drini while waving your hand.

Yuan walked towards the in-law, then sat down beside him. After that, Drini revealed an awkward smile. He glanced at Pearl at a glance, then looked back at the son-in-law as he took her hand.

"Did you introduce, he's Pearl. Pearl, this is Yuan."

Drini introduced the two women to each other. Yuan raised his arm and thrust his palm at Muriara. However, Pearl just stared at Tabgan Yuan while smiling cynically.

Finally Yuan pulled back his arm. Yuan's soft smile suddenly disappeared. Drini who realized the attitude of dislike Pearl to Yuan was, finally mediated by re-opening the chat.

"While time Pearl will stay with us until the problem is over" said Drini.

Yuan turned his gaze again towards the Pearl. He again threw a gentle smile, but again Pearl threw a sharp glare at Yuan. The woman did not seem to like Yuan.

Finally Yuan swallowed back his smile and nodded slowly. Curiosity must have enveloped Yuan's heart. However, he felt he had no right to ask and know all.

Yuan was sure, one day the origin of the Pearl would definitely be revealed without him having to ask here and there. That night after dinner, Yuan chose to go into the room first instead of Andri.

"Not usually Mas Andri feel at home outside the room. Who is this woman named Pearl?" Yuan stared at the ceiling of his room while lying on the sofa.
