The huge bell that was on the tower near the adventurer guild, rang five times.
In a spacious room, hundreds of people gathered with faces full of sadness. Amidst the crowd, a coffin became the center of everyone's attention.
Zazki, the gold-ranked adventurer, the hero who had always protected the city of Lorisa, today rested for good.
An old man, in very covered clothes, led the course of the death ceremony. His face was filled with sadness, and even clearly he was holding back his tears from coming out during the ceremony.
He recounts all the services that Zazki had done for the city of Lorisa and as a living person we should always remember him. With that in mind, we should try harder to protect the city we live in.
In the end, he prayed for Zazki to rest in peace.
I who had been holding back my tears from coming out, finally failed. My tears are pouring from the end of my eyes. Although I can say our meeting was very short, I already felt quite close to him.
He is a responsible and reliable young man. Even he can be a good listener, we often tell a lot of things.
Next to me, Nazdia held my hand tightly. He was still quite calm even though he looked quite sad.
Meanwhile, Anifsa tries to calm down Lizfa and Linda who are crying in silence. He rubbed their shoulders slowly. Even though I I know he's the saddest person right now.
Zazki's funeral is over. After looking at Zazki's coffin for the last time, we walked towards the exit.
We have not yet decided what activities to do today.
However, by the time we had just walked out the door, a female adventurer guild officer was already waiting for us.
"I'm sorry to interrupt" he said slowly, bowing his head. "But there's an emergency, someone's been waiting for Mr. Rizkal."
I turned my face away, then saw the nods of Nazdia and Anifsa.
"All right, take us there."
"Good, sir."
The five of us followed behind the woman, we entered the main building of the adventurer guild and went up to the second floor and entered the special room used when there was an emergency.
But before entering the room, I placed Lizfa and Linda at one of the tables and ordered some drinks and snacks.
By the time the three of us walked into that special room, someone I knew was already waiting for us.
She immediately hugged Nazdia as we arrived inside the room.
"Nazdia.;" he said with a big smile on his face, but a few seconds later it turned into a worried face.
Desfi, the name of a girl waiting for us. The last time we met was about 5 years ago when Nazdia and I were in Banderang. Banderang is one of the cities in the eastern city of Lorisa. The city was also the beginning of our journey as adventurers.
Desfi let go of her embrace and then looked at me.
“Rizkal, long time no see.”
I nodded, he looks still exhausted after a long journey. “What happened?”
Desfi smiled wryly. “How about we sit down first.”
The four of us sat down. While the women are coming with us, permission to come out. Inside the room, Benito and the guild leader were seen waiting for us, their faces looking solemn. Although I was pretty sure to see the two of them at the ceremony earlier, but it seems like they both left in the middle of the ceremony.
“Now, it is likely that the city of Banderang is being attacked by monsters,” explained Pisirio, the name of the head of the adventurer union, after we sat nearby. Pisirio is a man who is quite old, looks like his hair has begun to whiten partially.
Desfi nodded in agreement. “Today, some scouts assigned to monitor the situation around the city, saw a large gorilla with a height of about 5 meters, wearing armor and carrying weapons, they were walking towards the city of Banderang.”
The huge gorilla was one of the most difficult monsters to deal with. Besides they can use weapons, they also have a little bit of intelligence like humans. Although it can be said that large gorillas rarely attack humans.
“They know how much is it?” ask Anifsa curiously.
“Around 100 tails,” replied Desfi quietly, as if she did not want to believe his words.
Hearing a large gorilla gather and attack a city alone has made anyone surprised, plus their number is around 100. Unbelievable.
But considering the behavior of the monsters lately is indeed being unnatural, like the big lizard we fought yesterday. Events like this will happen sooner or later.
However, in retrospect, to defeat a single large gorilla required at least one gold-ranked adventurer, or five silver-ranked adventurers to gather and cooperate. If a copper-ranked adventurer needs 10 or more people with roles that must be complete. If ordinary citizens of course there was no possibility of winning. Then for the city guards, led by the mayor under royal orders, to have a copper rating, to a silver and gold rank, it usually had a higher rank.
It can all happen if the gorilla is only one tail. Of course it is different if the large gorillas number 100.
“If not wrong, in the city of Banderang there are golden-ranked adventurers, right?” I asked Desfi, recalling information from Rizkal's memory.
Desfi nodded. “The last time I left, there was only one golden-ranked adventurer. He is a Rasniar with two swords of his fire and ice.”
Although there was a golden rank, but if he had to face 100 large gorillas, he could not possibly survive. His only hope was to summon other adventurers from other cities.
“Actually my friend in the adventurer guild of Banderang city already told it a few weeks ago, but I did not expect them to attack so quickly,” explained Pisirio, his face looks worried.
Without help, we can be sure the city of Banderang will be an abandoned city. While moving in large quantities is very risky at night. Most likely they survived as they could.
“What will we do?” ask Pisirio. Sending out all the gold-ranked adventurers would naturally make the city of Lorisa lose its power. Although I'm sure, the monsters around this shouldn't be left for now.
Pisirio exhaled slowly. “If you are willing, you can help the city of Banderang.”
“We are ready,” I replied quickly, then turned my eyes on Anifsa, after all today is the funeral of her best friend. “Anifsa how? If you still want to be here, you don't need to join.”
“I'm coming,” he replied without hesitation.
“Alright,” I said then thought of something. “Journey by horse, takes about 5 hours, what do you think, Desfi?”
“I hope they can still survive.”
“Alright, I will prepare the three best horses,” said Benito stood up. “Desfi how? I think you better rest here.”
“I'm coming.” His face still looked exhausted, yet he seemed to ignore it. “Although I can't do much, but at least I want to protect my hometown.”
Anifsa was a silver-ranked adventurer with a sword and a small shield in both hands. Though the last time we met she was still a spoiled noble princess. Now he looks very changed.
“Alright, I will prepare 4 best horses.”
After Benito came out of the room, we also had to prepare some things.
“Then, Mr. Pisirio, we get ready first.”
Pisirio. “Please be careful, we don't want to lose other gold-ranked adventurers.”
“We understand, we will be careful.” We slowly stood up, then I remembered something. “As long as we go, please take care of Lizfa and Linda.”
“No need to worry, adventurous union always keep well both sister Zazki.”
I smile. “Alright, we permission go.”
After saying goodbye to Lizfa and Linda, we immediately took and put on our equipment in full. Then head to the stables. There Benito had prepared four horses that were big and looked strong.
Not far from the four horses that had been prepared, Desfi walked towards the horse that was standing alone, then rubbed it slowly. It seemed like the horse had brought Desfi here, and now it still looked exhausted.
Nazdia and Anifsa immediately climbed onto the horse's back.
While I, for a moment, looked at the horse before me. This was my first time riding a horse. In my original world, it is very rare for people to ride horses directly, more often made a horse carriage in a tourist spot.
I breathe out slowly, convincing myself. With all of Rizkal's memories, I can definitely do it.
After making sure my three friends were on horseback, we said goodbye to Benito.
“Be careful,” cried Benito as the horse we rode began to walk away.
