Chapter 19: Not going far.
The space in each house now only left a shadow of the memory of a friend.
"He hasn't returned yet" Dashie said.
Closing the door of the house from the outside locks then leaves.
Go walking on the side of the road below among the white paper flowers that fall on the ground blown by the wind along with the smooth coming of the wind.
Dashie was sad because for one week he had not met his best friend who had gone somewhere else there was no message he received nor did he say where to go.
Suddenly just disappeared.
Now he's in front of the store with a new employee who he doesn't know.
Beside the street light pole on the right waiting for who, he also did not know.
"Where else are you going?" ask someone from the phone.
Hasn't ended the conversation from inside the phone that he put in his left jacket pocket.
Waiting for the bus that is eight minutes away will arrive at the bus stop as usual around the front of the alley to the house.
Ved has also been searching for a week where Callie has not been found from reporting the loss of a person to the police to disseminating non-digital information to digitally.
The same thing was done by Jarrel.
He was looking up at the very bright sky partially covering his face evading the warm sunlight of the same place when he found Callie for the first time with the same black umbrella when he was last meet the girl.
People came and went past the place where Jarrel stood staring at the clear sky as time passed.
Hope again.
"Can I not be that scared anymore" Jarrel said.
"Someone is not the same as the one who left me, right?" ask Jarrel.
"Give me confidence so I don't fall back in that sad place again" Jarrel said.
Callie carries one orange ice cream side by side with her lover who is now out of nowhere without a trace they are also looking as if they do not give the opportunity to come in their lives again.
"You seem to like playing hide-and-seek" Jarrel said.
Look at a flower shop.
He recalled also in this place seeing Callie with her lover staring in front of the glass window smiling happily.
He still remembered that day Callie's charming big smile to Veer there had been no sign of sadness shown from this girl's face.
Passing through the flower shop and continue walking again through another shop store then he recalled Callie was embracing Veer's left arm staring at each other.
Jarrel followed the memories of where they went next.
There he also remembers Veer hugging Callie lovingly and affectionately in a vast area open to the public with green grassy land and chasing each other with the atmosphere of autumn among people who also come to just see the foliage fall from the top of the trees around the vast green grassy land.
He considers them a pair of happy couples without a problem until one day Jarrel discovers a fact that the face of a good girl is changed instantly with wounds from various parts of the face of the hand and the rest of his limbs ran with all his might dodging from someone without caring about anything else he cared about just how he could survive and successfully leave from the pursuit of the man he used to be his lover who has now changed all his physical form into a different face but with the same nature and character and has not changed.
It's sad that he's not back yet or worse that he may not be back.
Stop staring at the vast green grassy land under the shady trees.
"I just want to say good morning again" Jarrel said.
"Good day, Callie" Jarrel said.
"I am sorry" said Jarrel.
Sitting on the green grass.
Ask Callie.
"You're going back, Callie?" ask Jarrel.
"I am sorry" said Jarrel.
"I should have waited for you to get inside the house" Jarrel said.
Meanwhile, Dashie has just come to the student information section where Callie attended college with the shocking news she just got from the campus.
Dashie sat on the chair of a campus park holding back tears from falling after receiving the news.
"What happened to you?" ask Dashie.
"Why does it all sound mysterious to me?" ask Dashie.
The palm of the right hand removes the tears that have just fallen on the left cheek.
"What a sadness that makes you not want to share your story with me" Dashie said.
Look up to the sky so that not many more tears fall because of this sadness.
He had not attended college for nearly two years and only entered at the beginning of the first semester after which no news was received by the campus where Callie was studying.
Something that is impossible this kind of thing can happen to Callie with high spirit in achieving education also with the ability that he has which is also minimal obstacles for a Callie from a background that is not owned by his friend.
"just fine. He couldn't get in touch all this time" Dashie said.
"Although I don't know what about your problem but I'm really sorry" Dashie said.
"You must be very sad and need someone else to help you" Dashie said.
"And I live in my own world" Dashie said.
I heard a scream from somewhere.
At first I didn't really believe there was a shout out again in the campus environment that was on holiday this semester.
Curious then look to the right and to the left.
He has not found what he is looking for.
The voice disappeared again.
Dashie sat there leaning against the long chair of the garden.
Momentary break.
Open the phone and read the message and reply to it.
Quiet again.
The voice came again and the girl grew curious looking to the right and to the left and then looking at the back.
Nothing strange at all.
Still curious.
"Why did the suata come again?" ask Dashie.
Hearing that voice getting closer was heard.
"My stomach voice?" ask Dashie.
Acknowledging.
"It turns out I'm hungry" Dashie said.
It was already one o'clock in the afternoon he was looking for where Callie was going around town and since breakfast had only drunk two boxes of unsweetened milk before leaving home to make the trip he thought was not over.
To yourself.
"She said I should wait here" Dashie said.
Call Ved's cell phone number.
Waiting for the phone to connect.
The phone number sounded active and Dashie was still waiting for Ved to answer the call from her.
Phone connected.
"Ved?" ask Dashie.
"Yes" said Ved.
Explain.
"I'm going straight home" Dashie said.
Dashie was already standing up from her seat now about to leave Callie's campus soon.
Prevent Dashie from going from his location position ready to go.
"You're at Callie's college, right?" ask Ved.
"Yes. Why?" ask Dashie.
"I'll be here soon. Wait" said Ved.
Spontaneous.
"I'm going to find a bus. Don't pick me up" Dashie said.
Strong rejection that is not accepted.
"I've taken a direction towards where you are" Ved said.
"That sounds troublesome" Dashie said.
Reply with great joy.
"No. Not at all" Ved said.
Forcing to wait.
"Wait for me" said Ved.
Waiting for Ved to come in the campus garden.
Thinking why the CCTVs around the house could not display moving images of where Callie went.
"All the CCTVs also use pretty good technology but why ." Dashie said.
Waiting.
The sound of screaming from inside the stomach had not stopped.
He's getting upset.
"Eat or not" Dashie said.
Determinedly.
"Strengthen yourself" said Dashie.
Ten minutes later.
Ved came to say hello.
"Hey" said Ved.
Bringing lunch no, he didn't bring lunch.
Being in front of many shops and restaurants and cafes with Asian flavors are available in front of them.
"Select which one?" ask Ved.
Answering honestly.
"I'm on a diet" Dashie said.
Offering to eat where.
Glancing with complete confidence.
"I'll eat and you'll watch" Ved said.
"Yes" replied Dashie.
Ved was in front of a tavern ordering a lunch menu.
While drinking avocado juice that he had bought and then he practiced making a CV from the cellphone to keep watch maybe he had to find a job again.
Ten minutes later someone tapped on the window glass from the right side of the first row seat next to the driver's seat.
Ved had already told earlier that there would come someone who replaced him driving.
Opening the window glass.
Greet.
"Hello. Dashie" said Dashie's friend.
Dashie opened the car door out of the car carrying a cup of avocado juice for her middle school friend.
Thanking.
"Thank you!" said friend Dashie.
Enthusiastic.
"Dora!" dashie.
"Yes. Why?" ask Nora.
Praise again since long ago when we were in school together.
Looked in admiration.
"This angel" Dashie said.
Smiling happily after being praised then immediately in plain fashion and not shaken.
Ved came up with a healthy lunch and snack for Dashie.
The weather was very clear today and we got in the car for lunch together.
He distributed the food he had bought to his two friends.
Ved is in the second row seat enjoying lunch.
Nora seduces Dashie who is struggling to diet today.
"Your stomach is already that slim and you still want to diet" Nora said.
Self-confident.
"Of course" said Dashie.
Trying to join in the conversation between the two girls in front of him.
Eating soy sauce meat.
"Do I have to diet too?" ask Ved.
Compact answer and talk quite cheerfully.
"No!" said the two girls in front of him.
Ved drinks mineral water from inside the bottle.
After drinking mineral water, then immediately defend yourself.
"It looks like I'm the villain here" Ved said.
The two of them did not care about Ved's comments about them and then after feeling cheated Ved resumed lunch in his own style.
"I forgot they hadn't seen each other in a long time" Ved said.
Nora's return trip takes over the wheel of the car.
Calm.
Nora will raise the AC temperature to be cooler in the car.
While looking towards the GPS attached in front to the right of Nora was driving a sentence out of Ved's mouth, and she said "Dashie will get cold if the AC temperature gets colder".
Nora's nosy smile came back to color the atmosphere.
"Lwuuuuhhhh. In a moment" said Nora.
Being Miss of peace.
"He was always nice not just with me" Nora said.
"Again a hundred percent" Nora said.
Ved busied himself again with the tablet in his hand.
Set music with passion.
Sing along following the lyrics of a song played from Dashie's phone.
Talking about the two of them.
"I heard you worked as a sales promotion girl" Dashie said.
"Said Ved?" ask Nora.
Go straight to the story.
"Today's my last day at work" Nora said.
"I just got accepted as a freshman" Nora said.
Intrigued and listened seriously to the explanation of this friend.
"Congratulations!" dashie.
"Thank you" answered Nora.
Story again.
"I'll be working at Ved's workshop from tomorrow" Nora said.
"We'll always meet" Dashie said.
"certain. I heard from Ved, you work in the service field next to his place of business" said Nora.
"Yes" said Dashie.
"I took a job offer from Ved because it's pretty close to our college place" Nora said.
Guessing.
"Reallys. Means we're going to one campus" Dashie said.
Nora nodded gracefully to Dashie.
The trip takes a few hours to get home.
There are a lot of activities done by these three young people.
Ved ate seaweed-flavored cassava chips.
Dashie feeds Nora with baked chicken-flavored potato chips.
Dashie ate yogurt with fruit that was bought by Ved at the same time when buying lunch in a minimarket.
Thirty minutes passed and his friend next to him slept on the right as Nora drove.
Ved is busy with work.
Five minutes later Dashie woke up after ten minutes and Ved was fast asleep in the back seat.
Opening the window glass a little wind in cooled the heart.
Dashie looked out at the car that was walking through the farm and green plantation with the traditional house that was still maintained by the locals.
The journey that lasted about three hours had them through arriving in front of Jarrel's house then the car parked in front of the aromatherapy candle shop all down out of the car still looks nothing makes Nora suspects that something has happened.
Nora with the green backpack went to separate herself to go somewhere again for a private affair.
A very good time for Nora, the bus arrived at the bus stop when he arrived at the place and he immediately waved goodbye to his two school friends with the same reply both friends to Nora waved farewell to Nora.
Dashie came back with that feeling of walking towards the direction home.
Ved was on the right side of this girl wiping her tears.
Staring Ved.
"He didn't go far, did he?" ask Dashie.
