Chapter 10 Half of My Life is Lost

"Sister, let me drive" said Alarick, taking over the steering wheel. He knew Almero was still in shock because of Marion's sudden departure.

Almero just kept quiet with a blank look. But he followed Alarick's words.

Without wasting any time, Alarick drove his car out of the Adhiyaksa Group office building. He occasionally glanced at Almero from the rearview mirror. Her brother did not speak at all, but the look on his face looked so pale, a sign that he was experiencing deep sorrow.

"Sister, break your heart. We'll be in the hospital soon" Alarick said, trying to comfort Almero.

About twenty minutes later, they arrived at Permata Hospital. Almero immediately ran to the mortuary, but he did not find Marion's parents there.

"Suster, where's the patient named Marion who just died in an accident?" alarick asked to help his brother.

"Try asking the receptionist, sir," replied the Sister.

Almero, still confused, decides to contact Mr. Peter.

"Hello, Om, I've arrived at the hospital. Where's Om and Aunt now? I'm in the morgue" asked Almero in a raucous voice. He forced himself to speak even though his chest cavity was painful.

"We're in front of the operating room on the fourth floor, Al."

"operation room? Who's in surgery, Om?" almero was surprised.

"Doctor's having a heart transplant, Al. As per Marion's last message, the doctor transferred her heart to the body of a heart failure patient."

Tub struck by lightning, Almero gripped her phone until her knuckle turned white. He immediately turned off the call and sat limp in the chair.

"Sir, what's wrong?" ask Alarick worriedly.

"I-I don't believe this. Marion.he really donated his heart" Almero stammered. The next second Almero stood up while holding onto Alarick's shoulder.

"Rick, I can't allow this! I don't want Marion's body parts given to anyone else. I'm not willing," said Almero raising his tone.

"Calm down, brother. Isn't this Marion's own wish? Brother must sincerely accept his decision."

"No, I have to go to the fourth floor right now to prevent it."

Almero walked quickly to the elevator followed by Alarick. While waiting for the elevator door to open, Almero looked very agitated. As soon as the clanking of the elevator sounded, Almero rushed straight out. After looking left and right, he managed to find the whereabouts of his future father-in-law.

From where she stood, Almero saw her. Indira was crying in the arms of Mr. Peter. Not far from them, there were men and women who were also waiting in front of the operating room with anxious faces. It is certain that they are a family of patients who received Marion's heart.

Almero hurried over to Marion's parents. Alarick calls Cleantha, Raja, and Ivyna to inform them of Marion's departure.

Seeing his brother lose control, Alarick turns off his phone and runs to resuscitate Almero.

"Can't! I don't want the heart of the woman I love to be given to someone else."

Almero continued to struggle until Alarick was overwhelmed. The commotion only stopped when two hospital staff helped Alarick take Almero away from the operating room.

The Diva and the God Lord were just stunned to witness all of those events. Their attention was torn between thinking about Aura's condition and the unpleasant events that had just happened before their eyes.

"God brother, who was that young man? Why is he trying to stop Aura's operation?" tanya Diva is concerned.

"I don't know either. From the yelling, I think she's Marion's boyfriend. He objected if Marion's heart was given to Aura, " explained Lord God. He knew Marion's name because he had met Mr. Peter and Mrs. Indira.

"If Aura had known this, she would have been very sad, Sister."

"We should keep it a secret from Aura. Don't let him get depressed after surgery."

While outside, Almero was still trying to rebel. With great difficulty, Alarick is assisted by a nurse and security manages to get Almero into the car. He immediately started the car engine before Almero went on a rampage again.

"Sister, we better get home. Brother should rest and calm down."

"Why don't you let me stop that madness, Rick? Marion's body would be dissected at will by them," asked Almero with flushed eyes.

"Because the operation was performed at Marion's request. If you really love Marion, you should respect her decision" Alarick said.

Alarick's words made Almero speechless. Marion's departure has cost her half her life. Marion is all love for her, like the breath that moves her whole life. Now that Marion is gone, her heart feels empty, very empty.

Alarick was very concerned to see Almero's condition was so hit. He raised the speed of his car so that they would soon arrive at the Adhiyaksa residence. He knew Almero needed the support of his entire family, in order for him to get through this difficult time.

As soon as he entered the gate of his house, Alarick saw that both his parents and Ivyna were waiting for their arrival.

"Almero, are you okay, honey?" cleantha hugged Almero.

"Clea, Ivy, just take Almero to his room. Me and Alarick are going to the hospital to help Mr. Peter with Marion's funeral" the king said.

"Yes, Dad."

Ivyna and Cleantha took Almero by the hand and led her to the second floor.

Almero was still frozen, not a word coming out of her lips.

"Mom, I'll get Almero dinner. He must have eaten nothing" Ivyna said after helping Cleantha lay Almero down.

"Thank you, Ivy." Ivyna closed the door to her sister's room and went downstairs.

After Ivyna left, Cleantha stroked Almero's hair. He really could not bear to see his eldest son suffer like this.

"Al, rest first. Mommy will accompany you."

Looking at his mother's shady face, Almero suddenly woke up. He hugged Cleantha tightly while shedding his sorrow.

"Mom, what was it like to be this sick when Daddy Alvian left Mommy for good?" tanya Almero was unable to hold back her tears.
