Chapter 54. The house of the in-laws

Ainisha followed in her husband's footsteps to the doorstep. Haikal rang the bell while smiling at Ainisha. Not long after, Marni opens the door and is shocked to see her employer's son coming with his wife.

"Welcome, Mr. Haikal and Ms. Ainisha. Please enter. Bibik will soon call mom and dad," said bik Marni while bowing slowly.

"Thank you, Bik. Did you come home?" ask Haikal.

"It just so happens that you came home early today. Go ahead, Miss Ainisha," replied Bik Marni.

"Thank you, Bik," replied Ainisha rather nervously at her in-laws' house.

Though he should have been ready, because he would have stayed long enough in his father-in-law's house. Haikal began to realize, if the wife felt uncomfortable in her parents' house.

"Anisha, patience, huh? Later, we will have our own house as before. Even though I can't promise, if we will have a luxurious house again" Haikal said, holding Ainisha's hand.

Ainisha simply nodded slowly and tried to smile so that her husband would not feel anxious. Not long after, Mrs Kartika and Mr. Hartawan came to see them. They look very happy to see the arrival of their favorite children, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.

Bu Kartika immediately carried Haidar and invited him to play. Meanwhile, Mr. Hartawan, Haikal and Ainisha were sitting relaxed in the living room while talking casually. When Pak Hartawan and Haikal began to enter the business and company domain, Ainisha immediately resigned himself on the grounds of wanting to play with Bu Kartika and Haidar. Ainisha was not very curious about the affairs of her in-laws.

Since that day, Haikal began working in his father's company and began to be introduced to clients and other business relations as a potential replacement for Mr. Hartawan. Haikal is busy and rarely gets together with Ainisha and Haidar. He often went home at night straight to sleep because of fatigue.

Ainisha realized that her husband must need a break because he was often overtime, to follow up on his new proposal that had been approved. Ainisha began to lose the figure of Haikal who used to be very attentive to him. Especially now that he lives in the house of in-laws who are not as free as in his own space.

Whom do you complain to? If her husband is more concerned with her work than her. Bu Kartika is actually very good to him and Haidar. However, after the arrival of Tere, a cousin of Haikal who came from abroad, Ainisha's life became difficult.

One day, Ainisha hears a conversation between Tere and Bu Kartika. Tere told Bu Kartika that what happened to Haikal was because of Ainisha. Tere also said that since Haikal married Haikal, Haikal's company went bankrupt. Even more painful, Tere called Ainisha a pesky woman and should be kept away from Haikal's life.

Ainisha hoped that her mother-in-law would not be affected by Tere's words, but in reality she became rather cold to him. Ainisha was sad, but she could only keep quiet. He was afraid that all this would only lead to a fight.

That day, Ms. Kartika passed Ainisha in her room while putting Haidar to sleep.

"Ainisha, I want to talk," asked Bu Kartika while sitting on the edge of the bed.

Ainisha then sat down beside her mother-in-law. Ainisha's mind began to grow confused because she was sure that her mother-in-law had been eaten by Tere's words. But, of course Ainisha hoped that what she feared would never happen.

"Anisha, I know you love Haikal very much and Haikal loves you very much. When Haikal goes bankrupt, you must be very sad, right? Just like the mother who was also sad to see my only son had to have bad luck. Don't you realize, that all this happened after she married you, Ainisha?" said Bu Kartika while looking intently at Ainisha.

"I mean mom, what? Ainisha did not understand at all what mother said," asked Ainisha trying as if she did not understand.

"Mother, Ainisha loved Haikal very much, Ainisha could not have left her. Anyway mas Alright will also not be willing to part with me and Haidar," replied Ainisha while shedding tears.

"Anisha, you are an understanding woman. Do you have a heart, if my husband's company goes bankrupt because you are still Haikal's wife. Mother is not willing. Ainisha divorced Haikal!" kitah Bu Kartika is upset.

"No, mother. Ainisha did not want to," replied Ainisha pleading.

Suddenly, Mrs Kartika stood up and approached the sleeping Haidar. Ainisha panicked. Ainisha's scared, if ma'am. Kartika did something to Haidar. However, Ainisha can breathe a sigh of relief, when memet Bu Kartika just stroked Haidar's head.

After stroking Haidar's head, Bu Kartika suddenly gathered in front of Ainisha. This made Ainisha confused and awkward.

Ainisha took a step back, then she sat down on the floor. The water is not unstoppable anymore to see Bu Kartika.

"Mother, don't do this. Rise up, ma'am" said Ainisha, holding her in-laws' shoulders.

"Anisha, please, have mercy on me. Promise to leave Haikal. You know how a mother wants the best for her child. You must be worried about Haidar too. So did I. I won't stand until you promise to leave Haikal" Ms. Kartika said in tears.

Ainisha's heart was shredded and salted. Very painful and very sick.

"Mother, Ainisha still will not go, except for Haikal who kicked me out of his side" said Ainisha, which made Kartika's mother more upset.

Bu Kartika then stood up and looked at Ainisha who looked down lethargic.

"Well, if that's your decision. I will make Haikal expel you from his life. Remember that, Ainisha," said Ms. Kartika threatening Ainisha.

The never-before-igning gender between son-in-law and in-laws began to be sown. Ainisha felt very depressed. He had no idea who he was going to complain to. Ainisha intended to talk about what happened to Haikal.

As usual, Haikal came home late at night. Ainisha ventured to talk to Haikal about her mother's desire to separate them.

Haikal smiled at Ainisha's complaint and even thought Ainisha was making things up. Haikal did not believe what Ainisha said about her mother. It used to be that her mother didn't like Ainisha, but now, her mother thought that Ainisha and her son were very much.

Seeing Haikal's reaction, Ainisha felt very disappointed. If her husband no longer believes her, then to whom she should speak. But Ainisha, did not want to give up just like that. He wanted to stay in this house, until they could buy a new house for them.

Ainisha did not know, what would happen to her, in the future.
