"Take me off!" The words that first came out of Erin's mouth, after being freed from the duct tape.
Echoes of Erin's voice rang out into the room I was occupying with Tari. Grief, sorrow, fear, helplessness were words that could describe from the intonation of his roar.
Plaaaa.
A hard slap landed right on Erin's cheek. Even I who was just looking from the glass screen could feel how painful the slap was to stroke my own cheek. It hurts.
I saw a faint smile adorning Dance's face. He even took out a cigarette, burned it, sucked it deeply, then exhaled a puff of smoke that was left floating in the air, like while enjoying his favorite TV channel show. Only one difference, the cold soda cans that always perched in his hands were not here.
"Do you want what he is?" ask me on Dance.
"Silent. We're just playing around" replied Tari, holding back a laugh, and then smoking a cigarette clamped between her middle finger and index finger.
Not funny! If Erin finds out that the mastermind of her captivity is my own tant, she will be very wrathful. I who never did anything made him hate me so much. What if he finds out? Not fired again, but will be reported to the authorities.
"What do you want, *******!" Erin put up a fight.
Plaaaaaaakk.
Once again Erin's well-groomed smooth cheeks, should be rewarded with a slap from the burly man. This time harder until the seat that was occupied, fell along with him. A helpless roar made the entire room turn into a slaughterhouse, and Erin was the potential victim to be executed.
My sweat is pouring out great, combined with breath that feels increasingly crowded. I can't even feel my own throat. Dance had indeed gone mad, she carried an insane gene along with her blood. My chest wants to explode.
"Please tell me what you want? You want some money? A fortune? I can give you. My father has a lot. Just tell me how much you're asking for," said Erin Pilu.
I don't feel my tears falling to see it. I owe someone who's been cruel to me all along. I gripped my knee so hard it was painful. Dance is outrageous. If you want to reply, this is not the way.
Suddenly the man on the screen put the phone in his ear. Uh! Someone is trying to communicate with him. I turned towards Tari and found her making a phone call. That must be him, who else?
"Now use that thing," Dari commands, then disconnects.
My tears were pretty heavy, hoping that what I had witnessed was just a dream or a mere fabrication. Quickly I turned back to the screen to find out what 'that thing' meant, and saw the burly man on the screen holding a sharp little knife glittering wickedly.
"What if I ask for your life?" said the man holding Erin's chin that had been soaked by sweat and tears. His voice was heavy and scary, like Hendra, my father.
I looked into the eyes of Dance, as if protesting. They are a cruel family. The murderous blood that once slept was rising up and flowing profusely on his body. He may not be aware of what he's doing right now. You're possessed by the shadow of Mahendra's family curse, Tari. Please, realize.
Dance seemed to understand and shook her head gently. Touching the back of my hand, the edge immediately slapped to make the cigarette stick bounced far in the corner of the room. This time I was against Dance. He looked at me sharply and cynically, like he was posing a threat.
"Just calm. No one has died yet, Jihan," said Tari.
Taakk.
With one hand, the man was able to lift Erin's fallen body along with her chair to sit straight back up, make a jolt sound coming from the legs of the wooden chair that hit the rough floor on which they stand.
"Sweety!" Erin spit on the man's face.
"How dare you, demon!" With emotion, the man clasped Erin's neck making a great jolt between the dirty floor and the chair she was sitting on, then ...
Braaaack ....
He threw Erin along with his chair against the wall. Erin's tiny body curled up in pain on the wooden crack that had been intact, but now scattered on the burly man.
"Ampuuuuuuuuun." A stranglehold of Erin's voice came out from her tiny lips, while touching the back where her left ribs belonged.
My eyes widened, my crying spilled even more. I stood up and tried to find the origin of the roars, but Tari was no less swift to block my body. As a fitness instructor, he won a lot while curling both of my arms from behind.
"Please let her go, Dance. This is not how it works!" I almost exhausted my energy trying to release the stranglehold of Dance, but for free. He didn't even move a little.
"Just shut up and learn what I mean, Jihan! Fighting will not make the situation better" snapped Dari.
Dance removed her grip, then pushed my body back into the chair. It was obvious from his face, that I had already enraged him so much at this moment.
I myself can only cry covering my face with both hands, hoping not to see anything from behind the black and white screen again, but for free. My gaze was immediately diverted back when I heard the sound of Dance.
"Hurry up, now!" Dance call someone. I am sure very well, that just now was the burly man who had slammed Erin's body, to make the chair he was sitting on was smashed into pieces.
As if getting a new energy, I stood up and approached the black and white TV screen that was on, looking for the figure of a burly man, a friend of Dance. Now I was only about 30 cm in front of the tv, staring at the roar of a racing heart, with both hands holding his side.
Damnit damnit! The man was standing there. Raising the collar of Erin's office uniform, to make her legs swing hanging in the air. Erin was not on her feet anymore on the ground at this time. In the man's right hand, he had grasped a small sharp knife, as if he were ready to separate the woman's body with his life.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrggghhhh!" Erin's scream made me realize the direction of her scream.
I flinched and tried to run towards the sound, but Tari pulled my jacket until it fell to the floor. My body is no longer strong. Facing a Dance is like dealing with two people at once. He has incredible energy.
"Tolooooooooong!"
"Eryn! Erin!" My arch echoed bouncing, filling the entire room.
"Aaaaaarrggh. On here. Tolooong!" Erin's howl drove me right into her position.
I pushed the man from behind. The burly man who was unaware of my presence was shocked, and dropped Erin from his grip, but not with the knife he had grasped tightly.
I moved quite agilely avoiding his bulging body and approached Erin. The roar that was within my chest felt somewhat relieved, as it hugged its heavily-merged body. Erin was trying to collect oxygen to replace her power when she lifted up earlier, but the man grabbed my shirt and threw me apart from Erin.
It hurts, when my knee has to fight with the dirty floor in this old building. Slowly but surely, the man came to me. From behind the eye-holes on her mask, she looked at me cynically. He raised the burly arm that was grasping the tiny knife high up, just above my head. Maybe this is the end of my story, I close my eyes, waiting for the end of destiny to meet me now, but suddenly ....
"Stop!" shouted a woman who was wearing a mask on her face. I knew it was Dance. "Let's get out of here" Tari told the burly man.
"But, Ma'am ..."
"Already! Our target is that arrogant woman." Dance pointed towards Erin who was curled up in trembling at the end of the room. "We don't know him. Don't waste your strength just to finish off that skinny woman." Dance looked at me, as if telling me that the thin woman in question was me.
They came out leaving me and Erin in tears. I hugged her very tightly, as if I would never leave her under any circumstances. After the sound of the car getting away, then the sense of relief can be felt.
Erin was still very shocked, even after the departure of the two people earlier. We hugged and cried together, like little boys who were supporting each other when scolded by their father. I gently stroked Erin's disheveled hair, so that she would be calmer.
“Quiet. You're safe with me. Let's go home," take me.
➖➖➖➖➖
“Bravo, bravo!” Dance cheered applauded, as she saw me enter her contract.
I didn't come home last night. My body wants to be broken in it. My energy was drained a lot from the resistance and was crying too much in fear. Not to mention I'm really pissed at him right now.
[ How? Cool is my acting? I told you, no one's gonna die, Jihan. I'm not like them Mahendra. Haha .... ]
If I hadn't read the message from him after leaving me and Erin in that old building, I probably wouldn't have come back to this place by now.
“You?” I showed her face full of anger.
"How does it feel to be a hero, Jihan? Ahhaha ...." Dance laughed out loud as if toying with us.
"You're crazy, Dance!" I said as I threw the helmet into his lap. He laughed even louder, as if he was mocking my actions yesterday.
"That's my plan, Jihan. I knew you wouldn't have the heart and purposely saved that arrogant princess. The proof is, I didn't bring your bike home, did I?" Dance moved to open the fridge and took out two cans of soda one of which was thrown at me. "Lucky you don't have the blood of a brave Mahendra, Jihan. If you do, it could fail my plan to make you a hero. Ckckckk, Jihan ... Jihan .... I should've recorded your face at the time." Dancing laughing satisfied. He celebrated his victory.
"You broke my beloved jacket, Dance," my hard drive remembered the red parachute jacket I liked the most.
"Later to change your butut jacket, cemen!" Dancing leaped cheerfully, sat on the sofa in front of the TV and lit his cigarette.
"Jeansku too. Destroyed by being dragged by your goddamn giant." I pointed at my knee pain wrapped in jeans that were torn because it fell dragged by a burly man. "If I could ask you to change my knee, I'd ask you to replace it, too,"
"Haha .... Sorry, Jihan. That part wasn't in the plan. I didn't know you'd act that hard. All I'm counting on is you barging in there and yelling" explained Tari, exhaling her cigarette smoke. "Here sit." He patted the sofa that was at his side, a sign telling me to sit there.
I'm still upset to remember his completely spontaneous behavior. If indeed he wanted to make Erin kapok with a trick, it should be discussed with me first. He didn't know how I felt at the time.
"Have enough family shows, or are we better off watching them?" I said to stop Tari laughing and make fun of me.
He laughed even louder and punched the remote to turn on the television, looking for a broadcast worth watching. But his finger came to a halt as the broadcast turned into a newscast.
‘Discovered the body of a girl in an Eszed Bank employee uniform with the initials ER, with the crushed head barely recognizable. The alleged murder took place about 19 hours ago. Until now, the identity of the perpetrator is not yet known.’
"Well! It should be like that way to finish people off. Unlike you, Mahendra's family," I explained casually, groping the surface of my soda can to find the opening.
"You mean, Jihan?" Confused dance.
"You just imagine how my mom and dad played with their victims? They are too flashy and emit a lot of noise, it can be crazy to make. I was interested in their last ways, but baby, there's no blood there. Killing without blood is like eating candy without opening the package, Dance. Tasteless." I opened my soda can.
Aghast Dance looked at my face, like she was looking at a ghost. Sweat as big as corn, slowly pouring from the temple. I just returned with the best smile I had.
"W-what are you doing to Erin, Jihan?" Stammered dance.
I could see a puddle of tears in his eyes. Her breathing sounded heavy while covering her tiny lips using her hands. Sometimes he turned his eyes back to the TV screen and looked back at me in horror. He even forgot to smoke a cigarette that had almost angled his fingers.
"Hmmm. Just exactly what I did to Mom and Dad before I reported them to the police. So ... when do we toast, Dance?"
