Diamond Girl

Diamond Girl
Chapters 10. Because of the lights off

Alya likes her white and blue bedroom, which faces the lake and comes with a large bed that looks comfortable. He was shedding his tired body there. As soon as his head touched the cushioned underneath, his eyes immediately closed and not long after that Alya fell asleep quickly.

Alya woke up in the middle of the night, as soon as she heard the rumbling and flashes of lightning that struck through the window of her room. He rushes to get up to see Arga, and almost falls when the lights in his room suddenly go out.

All the lights in the house went out, as Alya managed to reach the door and open it. Then came the sound of footsteps rushing down the stairs and someone appeared with a large flashlight in hand.

“Alya, are you it?”

The bright light from the flaming flashlight struck towards her, Alya blinked and reflexively protected her face then turned his head quickly as soon as Rivan lowered his flashlight and walked over.

“I want to see the state of Mr. Arga, but all the lights in this house suddenly go out.” Obviously Alya, he tailed behind Rivan as the man opened the door of Arga's room and felt relieved as soon as he saw that he was still sound asleep undisturbed in the slightest by the state of the pitch-black house.

“I will turn on the generator soon. Are you going to go back to your room or stay here?” rivan asked, he flicked the curtains of Arga's room and pointed his flashlight outside. Heavy rain was accompanied by strong winds that moved the cypress trees around the house.

Alya looked up at Arga's bed, he saw her body move and the man woke up feeling that someone was talking nearby.

“I'll stay here,” Alya replied and rushed closer to Arga's bed. “Do you need anything?” alya asked, seeing Arga move her hand trying to get up.

“I just want to sit down,” said Arga, and Alya directly helped her sit leaning on the big pillow behind her back.

“What electricity in this house goes out again?” arga asked Rivan, who was looking for an emergency light and found it next to a closet shelf. He blinked his eyes adjusting to the surrounding light.

“As you can see. When it rains like this, the electricity in this house always goes out.” Sally and Rivan rushed outside. “I'll turn on the generator.”

Alya sat down on the sofa and connected her hands, waiting there until the lights in the house were back on and would return to her room soon. For a while the atmosphere in the room was silent, Arga sat down while closing her eyes and Alya seemed to hold back the drowsiness and occasionally yawned.

“I'm thirsty,” said Arga suddenly, while touching his neck. Alya flinched and immediately stood up, picked up the water bottle on the table and gave it to Arga who immediately frowned.

“Glass?”

“Oh.” Alya pulled back her hand, not giving the water bottle to Arga. “Awhile I'll get.”

“Ck, do you want to see me drink it straight from that bottle?”

Alya did not reply, just remained silent and directly poured water into the glass and gave it to Arga again. The man drank it straight away.

“I'm hungry,” said Arga again, as soon as finished drinking. “I want to eat fresh fruit pieces.”

Replace Alya who cringes. It was impossible to walk into the kitchen in the dark house as it is now, while there was only bread available on the table. Arga refuses when Alya tries to offer. “Wait until the light comes on in a moment, I'll get it for Mr.”

Not sounding authentic, Alya was silent while looking at the wall clock on it. Ten minutes passed, but the lights in the house were not yet on. The rain fell increasingly heavy, the cold began to feel pierced to the bone. Alya sat down while hugging her own body with her two legs tight.

Rivan appeared in the doorway, his clothes wet and he looked messy. “We're out of gas,” he said as he wiped his face. “There should be a notification that the power outage will last until morning. There is a power pole of our region that was struck by lightning, and is currently being repaired.”

That means the lights in the house won't be on until morning, and right now they have to wait another six hours maybe even more. Rivan returns to his room and leaves his flashlight on Alya.

“Alya wait!” exclaiming Arga, he shifted his body and asked Alya back to help him get on his wheelchair. “Let me come with you, you haven't even been in this house one day. Do you know where the kitchen in this house is?”

Alya grimaced, inwardly confirming. He may be confused because he has to look around in a state of power outages like now.

Alya pushed the Arga wheelchair, and the man was the one holding the flashlight. They head for the kitchen and Arga shows the location of the items in his house. Alya opened the refrigerator and took out the fruit that Arga wanted.

“It looks like drinking hot chocolate when cold weather like this is fun, Mr.” Alya said when he found the chocolate powder in the packaging, he had finished cutting the fruit for Arga and the man was now enjoying it.

“As far as you are concerned,” said Arga devouring fast pieces of fruit in front of him. Alya smiled, she started cooking hot chocolate on the stove for herself and Arga.

“Huh, hot!” Arga bit the tip of his tongue while fanning his hands in front of his mouth. He put back the mug of hot chocolate made by Alya onto the table.

Alya laughed to see it, “Yes was just poured, still hot. The steam alone still looks clear.”

Arga grimacing, “It looks good, so I can't wait to drink quickly.”

Alya then helped fan with her hand, while Arga lowered her head and blew it slowly. “It's been cold times, yes.” Arga sipped slowly, then closed his eyes feeling a warm sweet taste of chocolate smearing down his throat. “Hem, delicious.”

Alya laughed again, glad to see Arga liked his drink. Because of the lights off, he had the opportunity to enjoy hot chocolate alone in the kitchen of Arga's house. No conversation just flowed between the two of them, not realizing Rivan was there.

Rivan, who had gone down again to see Arga, immediately went to the kitchen so he did not meet his sister in his room. He was stunned to see Alya and Arga seemed to have a close conversation and laugh together there. He paused his intention and turned back towards his room again.

“Where to, Van?” Widia who appeared in the doorway of her room looked still sleepy, astonished to see Rivan who walked quickly past her.

“Kitchen,” answered Rivan briefly, his steps halted at the stairs as soon as Widia asked about her sister's situation. “Again Alya in the kitchen.”

“Dead the lights like this, why are they in the kitchen?” the sleepiness on Widia's face instantly vanished upon hearing Arga being alone with Alya in the kitchen.

Rivan did not answer, he just put his shoulder around. “Rivan go back to the room first, Ma. Sleepy.”

“Hmm, so curious?” Widia turns around and wakes up Bian who is still sound asleep. She shook her husband's shoulder. “Pa, accompany Mama see Arga same Alya in kitchen, dong.”

Bian blinked, his forehead wrinkled deeply. “Mama can see for yourself there, why ask for the company of all?”

“Ish, Papa don't realize what if it's out of the lights now? Come, ah!”

Inevitably Bian woke up, obeying his wife's wishes. He pulled out the emergency lights that were attached to the wall of his room.

In the kitchen, Alya was squatting to pair socks for Arga, as the man complained that his legs were cold. Arga looked down while holding the flashlight in his lap. Alya raised her face, smilingly telling Arga that the man would definitely not be cold anymore right now while correcting the location of her blanket. Their faces were so close, and from afar Arga looked like she was about to kiss Alya.

Mama who came and saw the faces of the two so close, was shocked half to death. “OMG! What are you doing here?!”
