Father of My Son

Father of My Son
The Beginning of All These Nightmares

The sun began to rise, a tinge of orange dotted the sky. Lily is busy in the kitchen preparing dinner for her and Ayu's family.

Young jackfruit vegetables, fish, tofu, tempeh and fried chicken deftly he prepared. Although not a fancy food, but all that he prepared with all his heart.

Htc .. tok ..tok ...

The sound of knocking on the door stopped Lily's hand that was about to put tempe into the pan.

"Assalamualaikum, Aunt Lily!"

"Wa'alaikumsalam, briefly," Lily said. He immediately turned off the stove and washed his hands.

Lily immediately rushed off to the living room, to open the door. Lily smiled broadly to welcome Ayu and her family.

"Jeez, Rafa. Come on in," Lily said.

"Are they, I wasn't asked to come in?" asked a man who was holding a toddler, he was none other than Ayu's husband, Joko.

"Here you go, stars sleep?"

"Yes, from earlier it was fussy like sleepy," replied Joko while looking at her son's tiny face.

They entered, and sat together on a mat in the living room.

"Sir Rafa has finally come!" adam's cry was pleased

Adam had been sitting there watching television.

"Stt .. don't be hard, sister Star again bobo," said Lily. Adam also understood.

"Finely, the Star was put to sleep in Yu's room, sorry if it was carried so.

"Yes." Yeah." Ayu took the Star from her husband's sling, then she took the two-year-old toddler to Adam's room.

While the three men were busy watching television together, Ayu and Lily were busy finishing cooking in the kitchen.

"Li, I'm really sorry. Maybe if that day I didn't give Adam permission to join Rafa in the sale, maybe none of this would happen.

Sorry too, I didn't see you with Adam in the hospital, sorry Ly .. sorry," Ayu said regretfully.

"Jeez Ayu, what are you talking about? it's all a disaster. Even if that day Adam did not join Rafa, he would also fall or be exposed to other things. Don't blame yourself, we're family." Lily put the newly finished bowl she filled with young jackfruit vegetables.

"You're the only family I have, I owe you a lot." Lily hugged Ayu's body tightly.

"God ... Why talk about debt? What do you owe me? If you consider me family, we don't have the term debt of gratitude."

"You don't have to apologize like this either" Lily whined.

"Udah ...Ah melow. Laper," said Ayu. Lily let go of her embrace, she grinned to show off her teeth.

"Hehehe .. yes, we take it forward yuk."

Evening was ready to be served, they all ate solemnly, enjoying a simple dish that Lily prepared. Sometimes Lily watched Adam who was staring at Rafa who was fed by the father. Not once did Adam ask about his father, after the last time Lily cried for not being able to explain. However, Lily knew in Adam's heart, she missed the figure of a father.

His heart crumpled, looking at Adam's face. Lily realized that no matter how much she tried, she could not fulfill the figure of a father to Adam. Lily rubbed the child's hair gently.

"Adam wants a bribe?"

Adam turned his head, looked at the mother with a big smile, no longer a sad look and longing. She knew how to keep Lily from feeling sad. Adam shook his head.

"Adam is great Mother!" emphatically.

"You're still a kid, not even five years old." Lily pinched Adam's petite nose squash.

Sometimes Lily feels Adam is being too mature for a kid her age.

"It's only two months or less, Mother" said Adam while rubbing his reddened nose.

Ayu smiles seeing that Adam and Lily can be happy, and live their lives as well as they are now. She remembers how her late mother first took Lily home with her. The woman was thin and in a state of great pregnancy, at that time the situation was very bad.

"How's Yu, yummy?" ask Lily suddenly.

Ayu nodded. " What's so good, why?"

"Enak, only less seems to be lacking," Seloroh Joko.

"What is missing?" ask the wife. Lily frowned and waited for Joko's answer.

"Less the signal."

"Good God, you're Mas." Let's nudge her husband's arm.

The atmosphere was so warm and full of laughter, Lily was so grateful to have a family like them. Living in simplicity and loving each other, there was nothing else he wanted. Very far when compared to his old life, with a treasure but no love in it.

After finishing dinner, Ayu and her family resigned.

"Thank you Ly, sometime change eating at my house," said Ayu.

"Ready, original contrived tempe mendoan."

"Whoever, if only pray. Just don't satay goats, expensive."

The two laughed together. After delivering Ayu and her family to the front door. Lily came back in.

"In drinking milk dear, you just wash the dishes for a while yes," said Lily while offering a glass of warm chocolate milk for Adam.

"Yes Mother" replied Adam.

Lily smiled, she returned to the kitchen to fight with the pile of dirty dishes. Not long ago Lily's hand grappled with the foam and food scraps stuck to the plate. The sound of knocking on the door came back from outside.

"Who?!" shouted Lily, her voice was very likely to be heard by the guest, because the location of the kitchen is not so far from the guest house.

There was no answer, but the door came back on tap, even louder.

"Who the hell," muttered Lily. He washed his hands full of foam and then closed the water faucet.

Tok .. tok ...

"Who? Aunt Ayu huh?" this time Adam asked.

Lily walked over to her son. Lily helps Adam to stand up, then sits him in a wheelchair.

"Who is Bun?"

"No idea, could it be Ayu? why not answer it when asked?" Lily was horrified to see who was knocking on the door.

Moreover, this has been more than nine o'clock at night, tonight is also quite quiet unlike usual.

The sound of knocking on the door was heard again. Lily was getting curious as well as scared, was it possible for people? or ghosts? Hais .. Lily's mind is not care.

"Mother open the door yes," said Lily hesitantly.

"Adam goes with Mother" said Adam, he could not bear to see the face of his frightened mother.

Adam knew his mother was afraid of mystical things. Although Adam believed that knocking on the door was not invisible to man, he also did not know that man had good or bad intentions.

Lily pushed her son's wheelchair, reaching near the door. Lily took a broom just in case someone behind the door attacked her.

Hc .. tok ...

"Who?" ask Lily again.

"Hurry to open," said someone from outside. The voice was familiar to Lily.

Lily timidly finally opened the door, as the door opened. A man wearing sunglasses, standing tall in front of him.

Lily clutched firmly the broom she was holding.

"Who are you?" ask Lily.

Instead of answering a small smile, like a scary grin.

"I'm the father of your son" he said.
