CHAPTER XIX Equestrian, Show Jumping

Rigel invites or rather forced Nuna with his Letter of Agreement to watch the equestrian race (riding sport) which is final in the title today. Their class XI MIA I made it to the final by being represented by their class treasurer, Cintya.

Equestrian has several branches, namely dressage (matching rides), show jumping (passing stars), and endurance (marathon competition). There is also an eventing (trilomba) which is a combination of the three.

In dressage, riders and horses are required to maintain balance in making matching movements. From the simplest to the most difficult. Assessment based on the movements displayed by participants.

For endurance, the assessment is based on the endurance of horses and riders when crossing terrain with different surfaces, for example through forests and mountains. The race time can last up to two days.

While show jumping is an activity where the horse and rider must complete the course (trajectory) that has been determined and in the track there are many obstacles.

Show jumping requires horse riders to concentrate highly on thinking and strategizing. Assessment is calculated based on the time it takes participants to pass all obstacles and penalties (errors) made.

As before, Liver School contested equestrian, show jumping branch (jumping star).

The committee has prepared 10 obstacles on the track, including wall, square oxer, ascending oxer, liver pool, three-pole vertical and four-pole vertical.

The wall is made of foam bricks, so it will easily collapse if a horse hits it.

Oxer square, as the name implies, the two top poles have the same height as the distance between them which makes the rider have to think of a strategy so as not to drop the pole when the horse jumps it.

While ascending oxers have one top pole that is higher than the other top pole which makes the horse have to jump up to pass it.

Liver pool consists of oxer and vertical under which there is a pool of water at the bottom.

For vertical, it consists of three to five vertically arranged poles.

Nuna likes equestrian so much that she doesn't touch her phone and focuses on watching with Rigel. He saw the finalists from the other classes have quite good abilities.

Some of them move and jump so well that not many get a penalty from dropping the post.

Nuna then saw Cintya was ready at the starting line.

"Next participant, Cintya from class XI MIA I."

Cinta had sat on her horse fully dressed. He then started riding his horse through the one-meter wall.

Cintya then headed for the second obstacle that was at a distance of 10 meters in front of her, she successfully directed her horse to jump over the square oxer with a width of one meter. He then turned left and jumped vertically three poles as high as 1.2 meters.

Cintya turned back to the right towards the ascending oxer which had a height of 1.5 meters and passed it without dropping the pole.

Nuna silently praised Cintya's amazing movements.

Cintya takes her horse to the right, jumping over a square oxer one meter wide, and two 80 cm high walls. These three obstacles were close together and Cintya rode her horse smoothly.

Rigel wanted to clap loudly, but he held him back for not wanting to disturb the concentration of his classmates.

Cintya then pointed her horse to the left and successfully jumped over the 1.4-meter-high square oxer and a 1.2-meter-high vertical three-pole. He managed to pass through the 1.5-meter-high liver pool with the width of the one-meter water pool which was the final hurdle. Cintya completes show jumping in 60 seconds.

A loud applause was heard all around the field.

"Wooohooo.cool lo Cin!"

"Good job, Cintya!"

"From today I'm a fan, okay?"

Cinta laughed at hearing that. He also feels happy to have done a jumping show without a penalty.

After Cintya, the next finalist advanced.

Rigel and Nuna with MIA I's XI friends watch until the end until the champion is announced.

The committee read out the results. "The third champion was won by Zain from XI class IIS 5, the second was won by Aluna Cahyaningrum from class X MIA 9 and the first was won by Cintya Jeselyn from XI class MIA I."

A standing ovation accompanied the three winners forward. They received congratulations from teachers who served as judges and organizers. For trophies and certificates will be distributed tomorrow at the peak of the Sports Week event.

Rigel recalled the incident yesterday the day after, he doubted if Nuna could come along.

Nuna felt Rigel's gaze and shook her head. He doesn't want to go to the hospital twice a week.

"Thanks make the offer, Cintya. I'm not coming with you, Nuna" Rigel said, making Cintya stop her steps.

"okay."

They went to lunch leaving Rigel and Nuna who were on the spot.

"Asisten you'll be eating more food?" ask Rigel.

"Yes." Yeah."

"Lo really - really can't snack?"

"I can, but only once a month" replied Nuna.

"Dearly enough. Many foods are no less delicious than home cooking," said Rigel teasing Nuna. "And you can't easily taste them."

Nuna thought Rigel was concerned about her, "No problem. To me living healthy means more."

Rigel's lips are clenched. Uh! Why did he always lose in arguing with Nuna?

Rigel does not accept and says, "Healthy is important, but the satisfaction of the taste of food is also important!"

Nunq agrees. "You're right. For me, my chef cooks well so the food I eat tastes good."

"Gue do not believe, delicious according to you must be that - it just tastes. Honestly am I, do you cook me if you cook micin?"

"Micin?" nuna asked confusedly. "Do you mean Monosodium Glutamate?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Nuna shook her head. "He only uses simple kitchen spices, such as sugar and salt."

"Well that's him! You haven't tasted the food pack micin, you don't know how good it is rich tuh."

"really?" Nuna looked at Rigel and said in earnest. "Thank you for the information. I'll consult my nutritionist to use micin as a flavoring later."

Rigel, who received a thank you note from Nuna, was at a loss as to how to answer. This conversation is misguided!

Rigel wants to show that Nuna is so pathetic about not being able to taste the delicacy of food out there, not to advertise a micin, okay! He looked at Nuna elaborately and could only nod.

Ding. Incoming message on Nuna's phone.

Nuna read it and said to Rigel, "I'll have lunch now."

"Gue too, bring your provisions, come with me to eat in the cafeteria," Rigel ordered.

Nuna did not agree, but she had already picked up her new lunch on her desk. Then tailed behind Rigel towards the cafeteria.
