CHAPTER XXIV Car Racing

In an empty building.

Tik tok tik tok.

Mark opened and closed the flame lighter in his hand. He stared at the Jealousy Squad member sitting in front of him. "Tonight we will race cars with Eternal Squad. I don't accept another defeat, okay?"

Felix who was the vice-chairman said firmly, "Quiet, Boss. We'll win."

"Oh? Sure lo?"

"of course. We've done something to their car" Felix replied, glancing at Ipul.

"We're gonna win, boss." Ipul nodded reassuring his boss.

Tics. Mark closes his lighter and throws it at the Ipul. "Lo's done well, right?"

Ipul calmly replied, "Yes, Boss. We just modified it a little bit so it wouldn't put their lives at risk."

"good. Let's go." Mark leads Jealousy Squad to the promised spot.

At one in the morning, dozens of teenagers gathered on a deserted road in the mountains. They were six people from Eternal Squad, fifteen people from Jealousy Squad, and the rest were pleasure-seeking spectators.

"Where's Rigel?" mark asked Rafa, the vice-chairman of the Eternal Squad.

"Do what you know." Rafa did not want to answer. "Not much nonsense, you want to bet what this time?"

"Not kapok ya lo, yesterday lost to one on one ama Rigel," Fajar scoffed.

Mark ignores his taunts and codes Ipul. "Pointing to them."

Pulp opened the suitcase and the red money poked to the surface. "The boss placed a bet of 50 million."

Cakra sneers. "Lower than yesterday, afraid of losing?"

Mark's lips curled upwards. "Gue is sure to win, so I don't need to place a big bet."

Adit sneers. "How sure are you?"

"We placed a bet of 100 million using duid lo yesterday. The duo is still in the account" said Bram. "Who are you going forward tonight?"

"Gue," replied Felix who was advancing forward.

"Okay, from us Delon is advancing." Rafa patted Delon on the shoulder.

"Okay we're ready now" Mark said.

The two squads took the opposite side and prepared themselves.

Rafa and his team checked the condition of the car to be used for the race.

Bram's eyebrows pucker up, "Rafa, I don't feel good. But I check there's nothing weird about the car."

Rafa kicked the tires of the car, "Gue didn't see the wrong thing either." He looked at Delon and said seriously, "You know who's not really in the middle of the road, you have to be vigilant. You don't have to win, your safety is the main thing for us okay?"

"Ready, Raf." Delon. "Gue get in the car now."

"Heart, bro," said Cakra and Adit in unison.

At the start line, both cars have turned on the gas and made a loud noise. Referee in the middle gives aba - aba, "Three.. Two.. One."

The violent gusts of wind made the audience scream in excitement. They then watched the live broadcast displayed on the pre-prepared projector screen. The video was shot by drones following the movement of the two cars.

Delon was leading up front. He had memorized this route well. Delon saw a bend in front and stepped on the brakes, but the brakes didn't work.

Felix smirked watching Delon's car not lowering his speed as it was about to turn. He thought Delon would bang his car to avoid falling into the mountainside and that way he could win this match.

But something surprising happened. The two eyes of Fajr round seeing Delon's car quickly turn around - turn then turn sharply and escape the bend.

After making it through the sharp corner, Delon did not reduce his speed and continued to advance until reaching the finish line. He then crashes his car into a group of sand sacks that have been laid out by Rafa and his team.

Rafa had anticipated the cheating from Jealousy Squad and sure enough, they manipulated the car that Delon used.

Rafa approached Delon who got off the car.

"Lo don't papa?" ask Rafa to worry.

Delon felt a little dizzy from the loud shaking. "Gue's good - good." He turned to Cakra. "Sorry, I wrecked your car."

Cakra. "Gue must apologize. I'm teledor until they can snack on my car."

"Lo has to check the waiter at your house, Cakra. There must be something bought for them" Adit suggested.

Cakra. "Lo bener's. I won't be right to go home."

On the other hand, Mark stared intently at Felix, "This is what you call winning?"

Felix closed his lips and did not answer because he knew he was wrong.

Rafa received the suitcase and chuckled, "We always win, Mark. And you always lose."

Mark grunting. He was about to get into the car when he arrived - suddenly turned to look meaningfully at Rafa and grinned.

Rafa who saw Mark's sneaky smile immediately opened the suitcase and was surprised to find an explosive inside with five seconds left. This crazy guy!

Rafa closed the suitcase and threw it into the slope that was on the side of the road.

The suitcase exploded. Although the explosion was small, it could still severely injure Rafa if he still held onto it.

"This Mark really is crazy there's no cure!" Bram cursed in annoyance.

"Gue can't imagine that Rafa doesn't understand the code of Mark's sneaky grin" said an anxious Adit.

Dawn took a water hose and doused the blaze that resulted from the explosion.

Cakra looked at the confused Dawn, "Where did you get this big water hose?"

Dawn pointed to Damkar's car that was near them. "Gue call the state of the previous incident. Just dong, the kid's still repeating his tactics."

"I swear, I don't think, not afraid if he's a real person?" Adit shook his head. He could not understand Mark who thought of this as a joke.

"Well, one day Mark will be hit by the stone" said Rafa who looked at the extinguished fire. He looked at the suitcase that had been charred blackened.

Mark walked into their base camp and slammed the glass bottles on the table. He kept throwing things and shouting furiously.

"You are really useless!" Mark yelled at his members.

The members of Jealousy Squad did not dare to make a sound and received the anger of his boss.

"Felix."

"Yes, Boss." Felix raised his head to look at Mark.

"Find Rigel's whereabouts. I'll give you ten minutes" Mark ordered.

"Ready, Boss."

Felix immediately turned on his cell phone and contacted his people to dig up information. Five minutes later, he hung up.

"Boss, Rigel is on vacation with his classmate to Bali."

"Oh? When did he leave?" ask Mark.

"One o'clock this morning, boss."

Mark was silent for a moment and called his assistant, "Ticket agent to Bali now. The earliest flight."

After hanging up the phone, Mark looked at Felix.

"Lo ama Ipul came with me to Bali" said Mark. He smiled broadly and continued, "We made a surprise for Rigel."

"Ready, Boss," said Felix and Ipul in unison.
