Infiera felt her body stiff, in the arms of Abhimanyu, her husband. Her ears were buzzing, hearing the words her husband had just said. He really did not believe what he had just heard.
Fiera lowered her head, staring at the bulging burly hand on her stomach. “Mas,” call him in a slow voice.
Although his wife's voice was like a gust of wind passing by. Abhimanyu could hear the call. He responded by further tightening his embrace.
“I love you.” Abhimanyu repeated his words. “I love you,” he said one last time.
Only then did Fiera realize that she was not hallucinating. A few seconds ago, Abhimanyu had indeed expressed his love for her.
“Why suddenly?” Despite being able to confirm that Abhimanyu had declared his love, Fiera still could not trust him completely.
“Nothing is sudden. Everything went on for a year of our marriage. It's just.. .” Abhimanyu hugged her tightly. “Mas are too stupid to realize that you are an amazing woman. You can change how Mas feels in a very short time.”
Abhimanyu never realized before, how his heart was always irritated whenever he saw Fiera laughing together with others. Especially another man.
However, every time he felt upset. Abhimanyu simply said to himself. If their marriage is forced it will be difficult to put together. The only way is to make them friends.
However, all that made him more uncomfortable, when Abhimanyu saw clearly, many men were interested in his wife. That made him not accept.
Fiera touched Abhimanyu's hand and let go of his embrace. Then, he turned to face the man.
"Aren't we friends?" asked Fiera, her facial expression was nowhere to be seen, that she was joking.
Abhimanyu let out a long sigh before replying, "Mas knows, that was the most ridiculous request I've ever made." Abhimanyu slightly lowered his head, then grabbed Infiera's hand. "Mas must have hurt you a lot."
Fiera slightly turned her face away. "You know, the day you told me I was going to be betrothed to a friend's son, I decided to give my life to my husband by then."
Fiera suddenly returned Abhimanyu's hand.
"Tau bag? Since the day I told you I agreed to get married. I always thought, this hand will hold me and strengthen me in the difficult days that I will live. It's this hand that will teach me so many things when I don't know anything."
Although not married, at that time Fiera knew that her marriage would not be easy.
The process of arranged marriage and acquaintance is very short, making Fiera always strengthen the heart, if Abhimanyu will be with him through every difficulty.
However, who would have thought, instead of helping Fiera out of trouble. The first day they returned to Jakarta after the wedding. Abhimanyu instead created a huge difficulty for him.
They have to live in different rooms. The two must also act not to know each other. Whether it's on campus, or at home. Abhimanyu is only interested in his world.
Abhimanyu pulled out Infiera's hand, and kissed the back of the hand. "I'm sorry, mas, Fier. You fools have made you fight alone all this time. Please, give Mas a chance to fix everything starting today."
Fiera's smile heard that. His patience for a year, is it time to pay off? Is this the time he got the happiness he had dreamed of?
Fiera nodded without hesitation, making Abhimanyu breathe a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, Fier."
Abhimanyu pulled out Infiera's hand, making the girl's body step forward and fall into her husband's arms.
"Thank you, Fier, thank you. I promise, from now on I will try to bring you happiness."
Fiera returned the hug. "We're not friends anymore?" ask Fiera, a little teasing.
"You're my friend, my friend, my wife, and you're my world."
Abhimanyu lowered his head and kissed the top of his wife's head long enough. He closed his eyes, feeling happiness in his heart.
And what about Almira?
When his ex-girlfriend reappeared in front of Abhimanyu, when Almira became a new lecturer at his campus. Not the slightest bit of Abhimanyu felt the same vibe in his heart.
Abhimanyu only thought that Almira was an old friend, who had been close to him.
There was no longing, no more feeling of wanting to have a woman who had filled his days before.
***
After such a romantic declaration of love. The atmosphere must be disturbed by a call to Abhimanyu. Gerald told me that something was going on in the cafe. Abhimanyu had to leave immediately, leaving his wife.
In fact, Abhimanyu wanted to spend more time with Infiera, but Gerald instead gave the news that made him have to leave.
At about eight o'clock in the evening, Abhimanyu had just returned to his home. He did not see his wife in the house.
"Is he asleep?" muttered. Abhimanyu smiled as he glanced at his wife's room and rushed towards his room on the second floor to bathe and change into clothes. Tonight, she intends to sleep in the girl's room, before she takes Fiera to her room on the second floor.
Abhimanyu took a quick shower, he came back down in a hurry. In fact, he almost dropped the fitting flowers that were near the stairs.
Abhimanyu stood at the door of his wife's room and prepared to knock, but he suddenly clenched his hand, hesitating a little to do so.
"What am I supposed to say?" ask Abhimanyu to himself. "Fier, can you sleep here?"
Abhimanyu shook his head quickly. "Ah, no-no. It's too frontal. I'll ask, 'Fier, we are, right, married. Can I sleep here?’”
Abhimanyu fell silent, he felt that there was something strange about his words. "Why should I ask. Isn't that what a husband and wife should do?"
Abhimanyu looked frustrated in front of his wife's room. "Stupid! I should have asked him to sleep here. I should have taken it straight to the upper room. Ah, you fool."
Abhimanyu let out a long sigh to dispel his nervousness, then cleared his throat.
"Fiera," he called out in a soft voice, knocking on the door.
"Yes, Mom?" fiera replied, but her voice was not from inside the room. Except from behind him.
Abhimanyu stepped up and his place, he looked back. "Fi-fertil? Wh-why are you here?" He looked back. "Aren't you in the room?"
Infiera was seen holding back his laughter, from when he stood behind Abhimanyu.
"No. I just came back after buying food when I got home. But, because I went up to the second floor. So, I decided to prepare the food first. When I called, who would have thought... " Fiera lowered her head in shame, “ada someone who wants to sleep with me in that room.”
Abhimanyu's face immediately reddened, to the back of his ears. He's so embarrassed now. How could it be, Fiera saw all his stupid behavior.
Abhimanyu scratched the back of his head that was not itchy. "Can?"
Fiera nodded while developing her smile.
Abhimanyu was relieved to see that. He immediately walked over to his wife and hugged her, then...
...Seriate. Haha...
