Chapter 21 - Escape

"He's a man!" Nana puts away the hand of the woman holding Takashi's face. The woman took one step back.

"Include my name Mayu. I saved you all from these stinking zombies. You can repay him by making me a part of the group" said Mayu. He intends to be a member of the group. All because of Takashi.

Nana, Yuki, and Sakura immediately looked at Takashi. As leaders, they are certainly waiting for the decision of the man.

"Do what you want. And thank you for your help," Takashi said. She had no choice but to let Mayu come along. Considering that the woman had a capable weapon and had saved her life.

"Whose name?" ask Mayu.

"Takashi" Takashi replied.

"I'm Nana, and she's Yuki. Then behind Yuki it was Sakura." Nana's doing an introductory session. She accepts Mayu's presence due to Takashi's approval.

Mayu is fun enough to be a friend. She was a married woman and had a child. Mayu herself is 27 years old. He is the oldest person in Takashi's group.

The journey then resumed. Yuki, Nana, and Sakura inform Mayu of the purpose of the trip.

"What?! you guys going to the military headquarters?" Mayu looked surprised.

Takashi turned his head and stopped walking. So did the others. They are waiting for further explanation.

"I've been there! The place was filled with many zombies. I'm sure no humans survive there" Mayu explained.

"But you didn't go in there, did you? You can't just conclude" Takashi replied in disbelief.

"I'm very sure. You will also feel confident when you see the number of zombies that are there" said Mayu.

"We can use your gun. Isn't that able to defeat zombies easily?" yuki Suggested.

Takashi's feeling instantly became upset. Dismissed her hopes of meeting another man besides herself. Takashi is really getting overwhelmed. Hearing the military headquarters filled with many zombies, his fatigue seemed to increase. Not to mention the existence of Mayu who is already part of the group. Takashi wasn't even sure if he belonged to the group. The desire to escape often crossed his mind.

"It's night. We'd better find a place to rest" cried Sakura.

Takashi nodded. He and the others immediately looked for a place to rest. Until they finally found a cottage.

After lighting the fireplace and eating, everyone fell asleep. Except Takashi. The man pretended to sleep.

When he was sure that everyone was asleep, Takashi went to the back door. There he sat looking at the starry sky.

'Now what am I supposed to do? I was already at the point of tiredness.' Takashi's inner being with a faintly wrinkled forehead.

The more Takashi thought about his fate, the stronger was his desire to escape. Until finally he decided to prepare and would quietly leave the girls.

Takashi was already wearing a hat and carrying a backpack. But he had to stop when he heard Nana calling.

"Where are you going?" ask Nana as she approaches.

"I-i..." Takashi was confused as to what to answer. He was clearly caught red-handed.

"Do you intend to leave without our knowledge?" guess Nana.

"I'm sorry. But I couldn't and was really in a tiring spot" Takashi said.

"You're so weird, Takashi. Usually the men will take advantage of the opportunity in narrowness. But you keep avoiding. I always wish you could enjoy it." Nana's getting closer. He looked at Takashi. Naturally the man returned his gaze.

Silence enveloped in a split second. Until Nana pulls Takashi's collar with one hand. Then kiss Takashi's lips.
