Heart Darkness
Chapter 31 Reinha Always Meets Trouble....

Reinha stood in front of The Windows, an old bookstore unkempt but still upright confident as if not want to erode time. Wall paint has faded also peeling on both sides, scaly due to damp and half of the wall coated with dark green moss that looks comfortable smeared there. Shop glass is dusted with thin dust, probably because it is rarely cleaned, while the front ceiling of the building is almost broken by the dew of the year. The floor of the terrace is carved with sharp cracks due to inedible age, from which some termites out settle without sin breezed into the store. Some of them must have hollowed out the book cover, perhaps the same is true on the inside; it had moved into the stomachs of termites without the shop owner even realizing it. The black board in front of the store stood upright without writing signs that the place was left to go visitors, it had been a long time.

"Eeiiiuu ..." Reinha's index finger poked the dusty glass.

Instead of going to study marketing like her report to Elgio, Reinha Durante was more interested in working in an old bookstore on the outskirts of the district that desperately needed employees but could not afford to pay much.

Books are no longer a window to the world. Google has occupied the position as windows, doors, even ventilation holes of the world. However, there are some antique books that Google can't match and that should be a boon for an old bookstore. Unfortunately, the shop owner may be very conventional.

"You're going to work here, Miss?!" The bodyguard named Augusto asked in astonishment. The Windows and Reinha Durante, it makes no sense. Reinha is better suited working as a SOP at a fashion outlet. Sure, he will become an idol in the world of marketing.

"Yes .. beware that you dare report to Mr. Abner, Augusto! You can sleep all day in the car watching me or you can go on a date. I'm not gonna run away."

"None Miss. Keep in mind, you have a Muay Thai training schedule at 5pm."

"Yes! I know."

Reinha pushed the shop door. Although the outside looked dirty and pitiful, the inside of the store was well maintained. Even so, piles of books crammed to the left right, making the store space that is not how big it becomes solid to narrow the space; almost only fit for one person in each hallway.

In the corners of the room the arrangement of books loomed again without shelves, arranged a rubik model that was about one and a half meters high, almost touching the ceiling of the store. If you are not careful, a little bit of reluctance then collapse the pile of books and there will be a rain of books.

An old man greeted happily as Reinha walked into the shop. The face of the grandfather is as old as the books lined up on the bookshelf .. possibility ... he has also absorbed a lot of knowledge as well as pearl sentences from the books in this store, he said, because the old man looks very wise. Mr. Lucas is the faces of Reinha's childhood.

"Miss Reinha?"

"Yes, Mr. Lucas. Its me. Thank you for accepting me as your employee."

"I should be the one to say thank you. It's an honor, you want to work here. However, as Miss saw ..., this is how things are going. This bookstore's almost shut down due to time decay, cell phones have taken over the world."

Mr. Lucas spoke as he arranged the half-new books onto the front shelf of the cash register and accessed the old computer to begin to barcot each book to make it easy to find.

"I salute you, Mr. Lucas. Still survive when the era of digitalization began to bloom and many books began to change format to online."

"That's because .. there are a lot of memories here. I can't just take it off, even though a lot of businessmen are chasing this store to be turned into a distro and other types of businesses."

That's right, there are too many memories here. Reinha muttered in her heart. The smell of these books is the scent of his mother.

"Is that so? Though this store is not so strategic when it turns into a distro." Reinha shrugged her shoulders. "All right, Mr. Lucas. Let's see what I can do for you. First of all I need to clean the outside of this place."

Why would Reinha be interested in The Windows?

This old place is full of memories of his Mother's Father. A long time ago, when I was a kid, I used to take Reinha and me to The Windows. Reinha will be immersed all day watching Cinderella's comics behind towering shelves while the Mother struggles with numerous journals to reference the novel. Yes, her mother was a literature teacher and novelist, until cancer struck her and she died four months before she died.

Reinha put on a mask, put on gloves and started cleaning outside the store. There was no time to think of his parents. Somewhere, they are living happily. They always accompany him every day and Elgio's affection, Mr. Abner's concern and Aunt Maribel's concern are manifestations of both of his parents.

He wrote on black board ads.

The old book is a new book for those who have not read it ....

"The books here don't have a price tag?"

That means Mr. Lucas throws the price and the buyer can bid it.

"Yes ... Miss."

"Do you mind if I sell your books on the internet? We could have another collection of books, except for antique books. If we can get a book collector, this store will do well."

"You're very smart, Miss."

"All right."

Thirty minutes later Reinha wallowed in the back of the hall busy documenting three novels whose covers are interesting even though they are not up to date. He took pictures, typed synopses and uploaded to several selling sites - buy online before first opening a special account The Windows. So excited, Reinha did not bother some men who entered the store.

Reinha's eyes caught a shadow in a black suit, one of them closing in on the shelf of poetry books, take the book Love Looks Pretty On You which contains a collection of contemporary poetry and prose that is very beautiful and start reading sheet by sheet. Very good taste and Reinha smiled because the book was so sweet, as sweet as the pink tosca cover. He was busy again.

"Instead of paying off debt, just sell this store to us! Doesn't this bookstore have no buyers at all?"

One of them spoke while rummaging through as if looking for something. The books began to fall to the floor.

"Don't Master, I beg you. I'll pay off my loan. Give me some time."

Mr. Lucas spoke softly and slowly to the man, as if he did not want Reinha to hear the conversation.

"It's been a year, Mr. Lucas, you just pissed us off for coming back here. Your debt is piling up so much and the price of this store can't even go beyond what you owe" the man said. He took out a thickest book, tore one sheet and turned on the lighter. He burned the sheet.

"Master, don't do that! It's a book and you have to respect it." Mr. Lucas welds. The nanar gaze when looking at the burning book sheet is inversely proportional to the evil grin of the perpetrator.

"Of course, I respect him. But if you don't pay your debt right away, this bookstore will be like this." He blew away the paper dust that immediately flew in the air.

"Master .. Give me time ...."

Reinha was sultry by her careless attitude full of arrogance and awakened by the inner natural flick, a feeling of pity. Why does he always meet delinquents? Behind the skyscrapers of this city turned out to be moral brutality got its own place. But you can't blame the owner of the money. Why is Mr Lucas dealing with them?

"Mr Lucas? May I know, what's going on here?"

Reinha's distinctive voice shocked everyone in the store, not least the man who was reading Love Looks Pretty on You and the book slumped down. He noticed Reinha Durante was full of emotional interest.
