Chapter 46: The Consequences

The next morning, residents said they would repair the house and roof tiles that had been broken by a fight at night
When the group and Reinbach woke up and saw everyone was doing repair work, they are shocked and confused by what happened last night so they try to ask Kaido for information but Kaido ignores their questions and tries to divert their attention elsewhere.
In the afternoon Kaido left Reinbach's side and went to the royal library at the princess' request

I was in the middle of the park, the prince was seen talking to his subordinates
"I'm sorry my prince but I didn't know that he was so adept at fighting this kind of enemy! I underestimated it" said the vassal
But contrary to the expectations of the subordinates, the prince simply waved it
"Forget over! I have underestimated it! For now the army has just crossed the border and once the demon army has gathered then the kingdom will be mine" the prince said while looking into the distance

As Kaido enters, General Stone guards the door from tappers and intruders
"I'm right here! So tell me what is that thing?" Ask Kaido
As she asked this, the princess looked at her only in an arm-shirt as she tied her silver hair in a ponytail style as she put on her glasses.
Seeing her like this, Kaido's heart thumped slightly as he threw his face and thought
"Why does he look like a sword in that outfit?" He muttered
With a light cough, Kaido returned to a stern look as he approached princess Ingrid
As he approached her, Ingrid's daughter put down her book and said
"The one you are fighting is the Demonic Beast! A very powerful... There are three classes for Demonic Beasts and it is top, middle, bottom" he said
Heard him Kaido said
"So I guess the demon beast is top"
"Ping! pong! Bingo! Because from the way I see it, you have an enormous power within you and somehow the creature survived your attack which resulted in you using a national-level spell to kill it" said Iris while lifting her glasses and panting out her chest to prove that she was smart
Looking at his posture, Kaido only sighed while scanning the documents
"Then I believe based on my knowledge that such a demonic beast is the weakest force of the army of the demon army" Kaido said
"Yup! The strongest in the army before the demon lord were the followers of the arch demons and I'm sure they were at least six of them.
Hearing of the six much stronger enemy demons, Kaido begins to wander if the gods are serious in giving all the burden to the heroes, and the, Kaido himself almost pityes them until he remembers that he was also ordered by a shitty goddess to go to the demon kingdom to discover the truth behind the war
As he scanned his surroundings, he saw an old book that was locked by some ancient sealing spell that made him curious
"It... This book! Why sealed?" She asked
Seeing the book the princess replied
"I don't know! I never opened it, but I didn't have the strength to open it!" Princess Ingrid said
As Kaido stared at the book, he felt somehow his instincts told him that the book was important
When he turned around he saw princess Ingrid giving him a book while saying
"With your strength, the empire will definitely sort you out and send you to the demon kingdom and at that time this book will help you" he said
Seeing him like this, Kaido laughed as he said
"No, I don't, I'm just worried that you might get in danger after all you're like a friend to me" Ingrid's daughter said as she puffed her cheeks
"Friends right?... All righty! That friend! Kaido answered while taking the book
Seeing the indifferent attitude of the princess sighed in disappointment gave
"Stupid!" He whispered
As the room became quiet, Kaido spoke up
"This empire.... This is where the hero is right?" Ask Kaido
Hearing this, princess Ingrid replied
"Yes! I heard a hero was summoned a month ago along with two others on different continents" princess Ingrid said
Confirming his question, Kaido sighed as he said
"So the battle is inevitable eh! Is this what they call destiny?" She said
As he said that, he turned around and thanked the princess for giving up the boom and leaving the royal library
As the princess walked out of the library, General Stone looked at her while saying
"Daughter! You failed!" She said
"Shut up! I-i know... You don't need to remind me" said the princess

When Kaido arrives back at the inn, he spends time with his group and sui and enjoys their time together while looking after Reinbach if he is on duty.
When night falls, Kaido will read the book in his room and reflect for a moment while looking out the window
Sometimes he would send small drones made of titanium to patrol the capital at every corner and shrewd

[2 weeks later]
In the morning the prince was not seen in the castle while everyone including the king and the princess were unaware of his departure
As they enjoyed their morning, the sound of alarms rang as the soldiers shouted
"Enemy!"
"The demon army is approaching our wall"
"Devil!!!!"
With this series of alarms the citizens were immediately evacuated to the castle while all the nobles and soldiers armed themselves and headed towards the northern gate of the capital.
When Reinbach armed himself with full armor, he made Zia and Sui not group fighters to evacuate with the citizens to the castle.
As Reinbach opened Kaido's door, he shouted
"Kaido-sama! The demons! They have arrived"
When she entered what she saw was Melfina wearing a coat she had just bought in Kaido as the latter looked out the window and stared at the north gate.
"So they're coming!" He has stated
"Let's kill some demon"
