Chapter 53: After the Failed Invasion
[Other Side of the Castle]
Seeing that Kaido was slowly approaching the disheveled prince, the latter himself immediately spoke up to at least intimidate Kaido.
"Fixed!... Stay where you are! Don't come any closer!" He screamed
But Kaido immediately brushed off his shout and continued walking towards the prince
Seeing this fear instantly rained down on the prince's mind as a replay of how Kaido killed a merciless demon commander who was on a completely different level than normal demons.
"Don't come any closer! I warned you!" Struck by the prince
When he said that, he released his aura and focused his energy onto the sword and was ready to give resistance to Kaido if the situation was necessary.
As he did that, Kaido stopped his steps and picked up the stone as he wrapped it around with electricity and directly threw it at the prince which then his attack turned into a railgun as his speed instantly increased followed by a circular energy.
The moment the attack hit the prince, his arm was instantly shot and blood spurted out from him, therefore the prince howled in pain as he fell on his butt and covered his wound.
With each step Kaido took, the prince would try to retreat to stay away
This intensity made the prince think irrationally as he gathered the Mana in his palm and was about to cast magic
Seeing this Kaido appeared instantly in front of the prince as he broke his hand
Because of this the prince screamed in pain and started crawling away, with his left arm shot and right arm broken, he had no choice but to try to escape on all fours.
"Help me! Anyone! Please help me!" He screamed as tears streamed down his face
As he tried to escape, Kaido stepped on him and took his sword as he aimed at his neck which made the prince struggle to break free while crying.
Just as Kaido was about to do the deed, a shout came from his back
"Stop!"
When he glanced back, he saw the king and princess with the general followed by the knights standing there facing him
"Please even think he betrayed the kingdom! He's still my son! Please let me be the one to handle it" the king asked
Seeing this, Kaido just looked at her and since there was no answer, the king knelt down and pleaded
"Please if you want to kill someone! Please kill me!" She said
The moment the king said those words, the knights, Generals, and the princess immediately gestured to him
"Your Majesty!"
"Please stand!"
"Dad!!!"
But the king did not heed their call and continued to kneel with his head touching the floor
After witnessing this and calming himself for a moment, Kaido returned his gaze to the prince and said
"Your luck! The king is too good for your kind! The next time you offend me, I will kill you personally even if I have to destroy the entire kingdom" Kaido said
As he said that, Kaido immediately went and passed the king
Realizing that Kaido saved the prince, the king became grateful as he stood up and said
"If you need my help in the future, just ask!" He said while bowing and going to the prince
The princess looked at Kaido while the latter looked at him, she immediately turned her head to avoid his gaze and said
"Your clothes! Fix it!" He said while blushing red
Currently Kaido was wearing tattered clothes as he recovered his injuries
Hearing this the latter quietly nodded and passed by the princess
Glancing back at Kaido, the princess secretly sighed as she attended to her father
After a while Kaido stopped in front of the soul ball and the cursed sword as he said
"I'll take these things! After all it seems like the devil is after this!" She said
"Huh? Uh yes of course, please do" replied the king in surprise
Actually Kaido was very interested in why this thing could attract the attention of the demons so he planned to research more about this if he had the time and for the sword he only liked the design.
Kaido immediately piled up the ball in his empty pocket, when he touched the sword he immediately heard a voice calling out to him in a sinister manner.
"Maido!" The voice whispered
After looking around and finding no one there, he quickly ignored her and took out a sword and covered her with the cloth he had obtained from the nearby knights.
After that he left the castle walls

While some mourn the loss of their loved ones, some are happy to be reunited
Every demon within the kingdom was thoroughly killed and the fleeing demon immediately returned to where it came from
When Kaido arrives at the medical center, he is immediately greeted by a crying Sui who worries him a lot while Zia stands nearby.
When Rebecca, Melfina, and Okou saw Kaido, they immediately felt sad but when Kaido said that they did well, they immediately beamed as they hugged Kaido in a grateful manner, they are truly blessed by a very understanding person so that they can follow.
As for Reinbach he secretly patted Kaido on the shoulder as he felt aware that Kaido was safe

The weeks passed after that Reinbach was promoted from viscount to Earl for his achievements in battle and for Kaido he was given the title as the pride of the Kingdom of Ingra for his achievements defeating demons with extra money as compensation.
Seeing the money, Kaido grinned, I was happy but quickly ignored this when he saw the princess approaching him
"The Pride of the Kingdom of Ingra! What a good title!" Said the princess
But Kaido answered
"But it's not scary!"
Hearing this the princess added
"We'll see!"
As they spoke, the princess seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself so much that seeing this Melfina interrupted them with Rebecca
"Sorry princess but Kaido-sama is busy!" Melfina
"Yes! And Kaido...."
Just as Rebecca was about to say something, Kaido looked at her blankly
Seeing this he immediately said
"It's okay!"
As she said that the princess laughed as she envied their current amusing relationship

After a month had passed, snow began to fall from the sky signifying winter
When this happened, two letters were sent to the king and Kaido in the capital
The crew still stayed in the capital to make sure no more demon troops appeared
When Kaido and the royal family read the letter, the king sighed as he finished reading the letter
"So the empire has heard about the achievement of kaido-sama defeating this demon, they asked his audience in the empire" said the princess
"It looks like it!" answer the king
"Do you think heroes and kaido-sama will be suitable?" General Stone asked as he heard the conversation
Hearing this both the king and the princess sighed as they imagined a chaotic quarrel spreading

When Kaido finished reading the letter, he took a sip of his black coffee while sitting on a chair and staring at the falling snow.
Fate seems to play tricks on him while trying to make him and the heroes meet each other
Since he and the three heroes were like opposing sides of a currency, they would absolutely not agree with each other, perhaps continuing into a terrible fight.
Thinking of this he grinned as he declared
"Hero! How strong are you?"
