"You sure you want to hear it?" Derex asked doubtfully.
Zevina nodded slowly.
Huh
Derex let out a rough sigh, then sat down on the chair beside Zevina's bed.
The Flashback
Zevina was only six months old and Derex was eleven. Their age is far enough.
"John, I don't want to part with Zev." Pinta Carla, their birth mother.
"We have no choice, dear. They're ready to destroy us." John said, Their father.
"I'll leave Zev to Dicky and Liana." Say John again.
John was the greatest gangster leader in London at the time. But his enemies managed to seek help until finally he could make it fall and now want to attack his residence.
John quickly exits his room and heads to Zevina's baby room where Derex is playing with his sister. Carla faithfully followed from behind.
"Hey little, later if you're older you should be prettier than Mom. Don't like eating candy so your teeth aren't ugly." Little Derex said to his sister.
Her defeated sister had yet to understand what was just busy playing with the toys near her. Zevina lost it just learned to move creeping with her stomach.
"You're so adorable." Derex said as he rubbed the cheek of the little Zevina puffer.
John, who had just entered the room, snatched baby Zevina from Derex's sling, causing Derex confusion.
"Well, where's little going?" Derex asked to go after his father.
"We can't bring little, Derex. I'll leave little to Dicky and Liana." John is honest.
"But why Dad?" Little Derex asked in anger.
John stopped and squatted staring into his son's eyes.
"Derex, promise me. If you survive later, you'll have to pick up little from Dicky and Liana." John was very strict with his son.
"Good Dad." Said the little Derex firmly.
They continued their footsteps into the secret passageway where Dicky and Liana were waiting at the door.
Dicky and Liana are a married couple, Dicky is John's right-hand man, while his wife Liana is actually Carla's best friend.
At first Dicky who was crazy for Liana also forced Liana to marry him, in a crazy way, although in the end they became inseparable.
They had no children during their dozen years of marriage.
"Dicky, I'm begging you." John handed little Zevina over.
"Sir, just calm down. I will take care of the young Miss with all my heart." Dicky.
"Dicky, one more thing. Remove all Zevina's links with us. Let her be your real daughter legally." Decree John.
"Good sir." Dicky said back.
"Now go." John and Dicky Liana obeyed the Lord's orders by bringing Zevina from that place.
There was no long sound of gunfire from inside the big house.
Flashback Off
"Then how did you survive?" Zevina asked as Derex finished his story.
"I'm not holding on. But forced to endure. I didn't get away with their shot either. They brought my weak body to torture." Derex vile.
"Derex." Zevina stretched out her arms to get Derex to hug her.
Derex is happy to do it.
"I remember Dad's last message before handing you over to Dicky, so I hung on with the rest of my energy and escaped from their confinement. Then I met another gangster leader who was Dad's old best friend, he saved me and took care of me until I was sixteen, I finally joined them." Derex hugged his sister tightly.
"Why don't they help Dad?" Tanya Zevina was curious.
"Not not want. The gangsters have their own rules, and Luke's father doesn't know if he's under attack." Derex vile.
"But you're too old to be my sister." Zevina taunts her sister.
"But I'm still handsome, right?" Derex asked confidently.
Both of them chuckle at the same time.
"Little, I'm sorry. I came too late to save you." Derex said weakly given the torture Roy had given his sister and future nephew.
"No Derex. You're not late. If you're late maybe now I'm dead." Zevina calmed her sister.
Even when weak like this, Zevina could still calm others down.
"I always fail to look after you." Derex blamed himself.
"Hey, you forgot about me little." Jack made a noise from the doorway pressing down on little's words.
"Jack." Zevina took off the hug from her sister and spread her arms to welcome Jack.
Jack could not refuse. Derex gave up for a second. However, Jack has been instrumental in caring for and helping his sister.
"Thank you Jack." Zevina said sincerely.
"There's no need to think about little." Jack pressed little again.
"You are that." Zevina patted Jack firmly on the back making Jack groan while laughing.
They let go of their embrace.
"Hey boy, you have to be strong so you can keep your Mommy from your uncle who likes to kill that guy's wife." Jack spoke to Zevina's stomach while insinuating Derex.
"He's still alive Jack." Derex finally reveals the truth about Alice.
Jack silently stared at Derex.
"She's alive and now she's my wife." Derex said again.
Jack is frustrated, wants to be angry but for what? Want to hit was ah, I don't know Jack can only be silent sculpting.
"I'm sorry Jack, I'm sorry I took yours forcibly." Pinta Derex sincere.
This meeting of two hostile men was very unexpected. Derex chose to lower his ego considering Jack's services to his younger brother.
"Is he happy?" Jack asked me softly.
"I don't know. But he always told me he was happy with me. You know, he's even very loyal to me. Either he's stupid or something." Derex said honestly from the heart.
"Stop calling him stupid. I am grateful that he is happy. My heart has let go." Jack said sincerely.
"She wants, really wants to see your daughter?" Derex asked permission.
"Please, as long as you don't separate me from her. Understand that you're a criminal and like to take other people's things forcibly." Jack again quipped Derex and Zevina chuckled.
How can two grown men argue like a child?
"Little." Derex and Jack at the same time.
Zevina laughed even louder.
Derex smiled at his sister's laughter. Grateful her sister wasn't as weak as she feared.
"Little, I gotta go for a second. I promise it won't be long. You take a break, or you can talk to this lonely guy." Now Derex who insinuated Jack remembers Jack was in touch with his lover because of loneliness and did not get a ration from Alice.
"Fuck you." Jack kicked Derex's ass bravely making Derex glare sharply at him.
Derex also passed from Zevina's room accompanied by Zevina's laughter.
"Zev, you're lucky." Jack actually praised Derex.
"Why?" Zevina asked confusedly.
"You know, the first time I met her she was really not like a human being, she was so scary. There was no warmth from his eyes. But now he's very different when he looks at you." Say Hack according to reality.
"I'm lucky to still have Derex." Zevina haru.
"That's your sister. It's not polite to say his name." Jack sok fierce.
"I'm not used to it yet." Zevina.
"Yes already. You take a break. I have to go out to buy a lot of food for you." Jack ruffled Zevina's hair.
"Jack, I'm scared." Zevina held Jack's hand.
"No need to fear, in front there is Keanu who will take care of you." Jack said casually.
He then walked out of Zevina's room.
"If you want to come in, you can go in and get to know your young lady." Tell Jack when he crosses paths with Keanu at the door.
Jack immediately left.
Keanu decided to enter Zevina's room.
As he entered, his sharp eyes met Zevina's shady eyes. I don't know why his heart is beating so fast.
"You must be Keanu. I'm Zevina." Zevina smiled sweetly.
"Em.really young Miss. I'm Keanu." Keanu said wrongly.
"Call me Zevina." Zevina again smiled making Keanu feel like dying on the spot.
"Zevina."
