Three Years Later.
"DEREX." Zevina shouted thunderously calling her sister.
Derex who was busy making love to his wife in the room was forced to end their game because of Zevina's screams.
Bare-chested and wearing long jeans, Derex went downstairs to see what was going on.
"What's little?" Derex asked holding back his annoyance at his sister. I'm angry but baby.
"You saw your son's behavior. What commendable thing has he done to my son?" Zevina said annoyedly.
"What are you doing Derice?" Derex asked annoyedly as he saw his son holding onto an expensive piece of Zevina's already shapeless lipstick and Arzevin's face was a mess of red.
Arzevin is the son of Zevina and Darvin.
The seven-year-old Derice only chuckled guiltlessly, while Arzevin stared at the people around him in confusion.
"I don't care if your son plays anything else, but that's the lipstick I just bought two days ago with Alice and there's only two in Derex's world." Zevina held back the growl at her sister.
Derice is his nephew.
Derex just smiled in response to his sister's annoyance.
"It's little, you can buy another one. The color is ugly. Doesn't suit you." Derex said origin persuaded his sister.
Zevina grew furious with her sister.
He finally carried the three-year-old Arzevin away from the place.
Zevina takes Arzevin to the back garden and removes the graffiti on Arzevin's face with a wet tissue.
"Darling, what's wrong?" Ask Keanu who just got closer.
"No. It's just that Derice crossed off Ar's face with my limited edition lipstick. It feels so upset." Zevina told Keanu.
Keanu smiled and sat down beside Arzevin flanking him.
"Here, let me erase it." Keanu said taking over the wet tissue from Zevina's hands.
They are not married, rather Keanu is still struggling to get Zevina's love.
The Flashback
Three Years Ago
"Zew." Keanu called out to Zevina.
"What's wrong?" Zevina asked confusedly.
"Let me take care of you and your baby." Pinta Keanu was hopeful.
"You've been looking after me." Zevina smiled.
Huh
Keanu let out a rough breath.
"Not keeping it that way. Not as a guard or a friend. But as a man who protects his woman." Keanu said seriously.
"But Ke, I don't want to hurt you. You know what my answer is." Zevina's words rejected Keanu's subtlety.
"Zev, I won't force you. I'll wait until you're ready to accept me even if you don't love me. But please, let me protect you more than just a friend." Keanu said tightly grasping Zevina's hand.
Zevina looked at Keanu's two sharp eyes which looked shady and looked at him gently.
"I will also look after and receive your son like my own." Keanu said again.
Zevina didn't know what to answer.
He was really confused.
"Alright Ke, I'll try. But I can't promise you. I still love Darvin so much and my little heart is still waiting for him." Zevina finally said.
However honest is better than having to give Keanu false hope. By telling the truth, at least Keanu can keep the limits of his feelings.
"Thank you Zev. Would it be okay if one day I called you dear?" Ask Keanu expectantly.
Zevina's confused.
"It's okay. Kai doesn't need to answer now. Em, what's your son's name?" Ask Keanu again.
"Arzevin Anthony." Zevina said briefly.
Keanu became weak again, but how else, that was the reality he had to face.
"What a good name. I hope he can be a good man." Keanu stared fixedly at the tiny baby.
Flashback Off
Zevina noticed Keanu who removed the graffiti on Arzevin's face with a heart and affection.
There was a warm feeling in Zevina's heart.
"Daddy's boy why is it so messy?" Keanu asked in a funny voice.
"Sister Derice, scribble my face uncle." Arzevin typical of children.
"Hem.kak Derice is naughty well." Keanu returned.
Arzevin laughed amusedly.
Arzevin did not call his father even though from a small he was taught to it.
Arzevin instead prefers to call his uncle Daddy.
"It has. Daddy's boy has become handsome again." Keanu said, holding Arzevin on his lap so that he could get closer to Zevina.
"There is no need to be sad, dear. I'll replace your broken lipstick." Said Keanu embracing Zevina's waist to get Zevina closer to her.
Zevina according to, however, Keanu is a man who has been looking after her and her son with great affection for these three years other than her older brother Derex.
"I don't need that lipstick anymore. It's just that I'm annoyed by Derice's mischief who likes to spoil my stuff." Zevina's words rested her head on Keanu's shoulder.
Perhaps slowly Zevina began to try to accept Keanu's presence in her heart.
"He was a kid. How else, a child is like that, right? They've got their own way of getting the attention of the people they love." Keanu said his hands were stroking Zevina's hair.
Arzevin was playing with the fine fur that adorned his sturdy jaw, even Arzevin occasionally plucking his beard feathers making his grimace sore.
"Huh, stop. Youre right. He's a little kid." Zevina resigned.
"You're smart, baby." Keanu kissed Zevina's head.
Silent moment.
"Zev, have you started to open a little bit of your heart for me?" Keanu asked breaking the silence.
"I'll try Ke. Wasn't easy. But I don't want to continue to fall into my unreal hope." Zevina's voice clasped Keanu's palm.
Keanu smiled sweetly even though Zevina was not looking at him.
"Last it, baby. I won't force you. I know it all takes process and it's not easy. But I will fight until you can give your heart completely to me." Keanu honest.
From the beginning Keanu had always been honest with Zevina and her honesty was evidenced by her actions against Zevina.
He respects Zevina as Zevina is a girl who is still unmarried and related to men.
"Thank you to." Zevina said sincerely.
"I love you Zevina." Keanu again declares love for Zevina.
Zevina had not been able to retaliate, until she simply nodded her head inexplicably what the meaning of her nod was.
They returned silent.
Keanu faithfully stroked Zevina's hair, Arzevin faithfully played Keanu's thin beard, and Zevina felt comfortable and safe by Keanu's side.
