The two of them had just walked out of the bookstore, Maura immediately released Erland's hand grip which automatically made Erland stop his steps then he looked at Maura who was also stopping his steps but the woman was standing right behind him.

Erland turned her head, intending to ask why Maura let go of her hand? Just as Erland wanted to open her lips, Maura's voice sounded first.
