JI 2 - David and Devi

Leon's life spirit is very high. He is very optimistic that he can recover completely. Yes, although for now the condition of his legs is still the same, but at least for the hands have improved.

Leon always diligently controls the doctor and takes all the drugs given by the doctor. He never gave up on his healing process.

This morning Leon and Arini plan to go to the office together. Actually Leon had asked Arini to stay at home, but Arini refused. Leon's wife was very unable to if only told to stay silent at home.

Before they went to the office, they escorted Jasmine to school first. And because today there is not too much work in the office, Arini and Leon decided to invite Joseph to participate.

Poor Joseph was always left with ART only. The child forgets who his parents are.

"Good school, son! Don't be naughty, and if there's anything, tell Mama and Papa" Leon said, kissing Jasmine's cheek.

"Don't forget to pray, too" Arini said as she rubbed the top of her daughter's head fondly.

Jasmine nodded obediently. He got out of the car and went to his class. Jasmine is the least willing if delivered to class. And his parents knew that. So neither Arini nor Leon will force what Jasmine dislikes.

"Go to the office, Mom?" david asked as he looked at his two masters from the central rearview.

Leon nodded. "Yes, Vid" he answered.

After Jasmine disappears from sight, David drives his car to the office.

David was walking alone down every corner of the office, accidentally catching a woman's eyes. She was dressed in an office girl.

David sharpened his vision. He made sure that the woman he saw was someone he knew. More precisely the past that once left him for the sake of another richer man.

David followed the woman to the pantry. From a considerable distance, David again stalked the woman. And it turned out to be true. That woman is Devi, David's ex-girlfriend.

Devi mopped the pantry area while listening to music from the earphones. For Devi, listening to music is her mood booster.

David approached Devi who was mopping. "Hi! We have not seen each other for a long time" said David, folding his hands in front of his chest.

Devi, who had been looking down, raised her head to see who greeted her.

Once he found out it was David, Devi dropped the mop. He nodded for a few seconds. He didn't expect to see David here.

"How are you?" david asked with a friendly smile. He has moved on from Devi. So that when they meet again like now, there is no problem at all for David.

Devi pulled the earphones from both ears and pocketed the earphones into her pants pocket. "Well," Devi replied as she picked up the broom that had fallen off.

Devi is ashamed of David. Because he had left his first love only for a jerk who now incised deep wounds in his life.

"When did you work here?" david asked while shifting because the floor he was on was on the mop by Devi.

"Six months ago," Devi replied while looking down. I swear to what, he was ashamed to come face to face with David.

"Your boyfriend is rich. Then why are you working as an OG here?"

"That's an old story. Don't discuss it anymore" Devi said slowly.

After finishing mopping the kitchen, Devi then washed the mop in the bathroom. And shortly after, he came out while sitting next to David.

"You work here too?" devi asked after she managed to control her shyness.

"No. I'm now Mas Leon's nurse."

Devi nodded in understanding.

"Where do you live now? Same who?" ask David in a low and friendly tone. He asked that not because he wanted to continue the old story that had ended, but solely because he wanted to establish friendship only.

"Not far from here. Same with Mother and Azriel," Devi replied with a bow.

Devi is an only child who no longer has a father. Her father's been dead since Devi was still in the womb.  David knew that fact. But Azriel? Who's Azriel?

"Azriel?"

"My son."

David was silent for a few seconds. He found out that Devi had a child. The thing that makes David shocked is, Devi's age is not yet mature. That woman was nineteen. What made her want to marry young?

"You must be laughing at my miserable condition, right?" Devi laughed a little. "So ran away after knowing I was pregnant. He didn't even marry me. And now, Azriel's condition has no father. Forced, to support Azriel, I had to work. Work as whatever it is I'll still do, as long as it's halal."

Hadi is Devi's ex-boyfriend. He was also the one who knocked David out of Devi's heart.

David and Devi dated for a year. They are neighbors of the village. The education of both is only the same until Junior High.

Both are very romantic couples. Although they are still both teenagers, but they are quite mature in addressing many things.

Until Hadi comes in Devi's life. And that guy fucked everything up.

"I'm not the old Devi anymore. I've been so devastated. I'm ashamed of myself, too" Devi looked down.

David patted Devi's shoulder. "Jalani the future. Never be burdened by the past. Make him a lesson so that you become stronger in the future," said David softly.

"Thank you" said Devi.

Both were silent for a moment. There was only the sound of the clock ticking heard. It feels a little awkward. After quite a long time they did not meet, they were finally reunited.

David was deliberately lingering here. Because just now when he left, Arini Leon and Joseph were chatting and seemed a bit intimate. So he asked for permission to walk.

David is very uncomfortable if he has to listen to other people's privacy talks.

"I still have a lot of work. I go first, yeah?!" said Devi as she passed by carrying a washcloth and glass cleaner.

David just nodded.

There are two office boys and one office girl. On mornings like this, they were all busy with their own work.

With no one to talk to, David decides to return to Arini and Leon's room. He had been gone for a long time, afraid that the master was looking for his existence.
