Killer Reincarnation

Killer Reincarnation
Chapter 40. Monster Invasion

Lien Hua stared at her surroundings in astonishment, she had not expected to see anything she had never imagined at all.

The streets that are usually crowded by residents are now filled with blood and corpses, traces of magic are still clearly visible. There was even a corpse that had been destroyed beyond recognition.

Lien Hua covered her nose as she smelled a pungent fishy smell, her feelings suddenly being unpleasant. He quickly ran towards his residence. The thing he was thinking about now was the safety of all his family.

Arriving there, Lien Hua seemed speechless. His mouth was tightly locked, his eyes were trembling and teary.

Lien Hua biting her inner lips trying to hold back the sobs and tears that were trying to get out, she ran small towards the ruins and tried to look for someone.

But he found no one. Lien Hua tried to convince himself that they were still alive and might be helped back by Zhang Xue as he was at first.

Quickly, Lien Hua dashed towards the empire far away from her residence. He accidentally found a horse in the street, Lien Hua directly climbed the horse and headed to the empire faster.

He jerked the horse bridle while looking around, the houses collapsed. The bodies of the citizens were scattered everywhere, some were even torn apart by something. Large scratches left on the ground.

Upon seeing the approaching empire, Lien Hua suddenly pulled the horse's bridle until the horse stopped abruptly. He rounded his eyes while staring at the horde of monsters that were now trying to enter the empire.

'Wh-what really happened?' Lien Hua looked around, she accidentally discovered something familiar. His heart seemed to stop beating for a second, he got off the horse and walked towards the thing staggered.

Lien Hua took a tear of cloth that she knew very well. 'Don't worry! They, they must be fine!!'

Lien Hua tied the torn cloth to her left hand, she then closed her eyes with both hands raised.

“Blue Fire, Ice water, thunder earth, light peril.” Lien Hua opened her eyes, but did not see the book. He closed his eyes again and tried to focus, Lien Hua returned to chanting. But still it didn't work.

He's whining. 'In that case, the only way is to use my own strength!' Lien Hua looked around, she picked up the sword imprinted on someone's body and walked towards the monster. He knew he was so reckless and would definitely die, let alone that his weapon now was just an iron sword that could be destroyed with a single strike.

Lien Hua sighed, she had gotten a pretty good plan. Lien Hua raised his sword forward.

“Fire blades.” A flame emerged from Lien Hua's sword, it propagated like water and filled the sword until it turned into a sword of fire. He grimaced softly when he felt his hand burn.

Lien Hua stepped forward, a step that looked relaxed yet arrogant. He continued walking while taking out some of the monsters that attacked and blocked his path.

Lien Hua came to a halt amidst the monsters, she glanced around with a wary gaze but also seemed calm.

The monsters were now encircling him, there was no gap to escape. Lien Hua still continued to swing her sword in any direction, no matter what because her surroundings were now evil monsters that would spend at any moment.

Due to taking too long to use magic, Lien Hua ran out of mana. His fire sword also turned into an ordinary sword, he crouched down with the sword as a pedestal. His breath was breathless as if he had just run far away.

The monsters were getting closer to her little by little until one of them pointed her sharp claws at Lien Hua, as the girl thought she was going to die.

A sword from above the sky descended and instantly cut off the monster's hand, Lien Hua looked up and saw someone standing on the wall jumping down and standing behind him.

'Jeez, why is he here?' Lien Hua covered her face and continued to pray that the man in front of her would not recognize her at all, but ill-fated. His prayer was not fulfilled.

“A-aku--”

“Don't think about it now! You're in trouble again because of your carelessness, next time. Listen to my orders or you'll really chain me!” threatening the man who was none other than Jian.

“Jian, what...my family is okay?”

“Which family?” jian asked as he swung his sword towards the monsters. “I mean it, Xia, Juan and Xiu.”

“Oh them, they had already mat-” Jian no longer continued his words due to the sharp gaze of Lien Hua, the girl screeched and tried to stand up while continuing to make her sword as a crutch.

Lien Hua with all her might raised her sword and started swinging it. “If you are tired, go to the imperial basement and take refuge there!”

“No! I'll help you!” kekeh Lien Hua's. “Don't be stubborn! Look, imperial warriors are also attacking the monsters and helping us!”

“No Jian! I won't leave you in this state!”

Both of their backs collided with each other, they were now surrounded by a large number of monsters. Almost half of the monsters entered the palace, but they seemed to be increasing or perhaps regenerating.

Jian muttered a spell and directly stuck his sword into the ground, a flame emerged from his sword and spread towards the monster. After, the fire seemed to surround the two people of different gender.

Jian turned around and looked at Lien Hua who looked astonished, he then flicked at the forehead of the girl in front of him.

“Stupid go! This is not a place to play around!” Lien Hua looked at him in annoyance while holding onto his forehead.

“You jerked me again!”

“I told you, this is not a place to play around!”

“Tap--”

“You like Prince Zhang Xue, right?” guess Jian, he smiled thinly meaningfully. Lien Hua looked down. “A-I'm sorry Jian. I don't know since when, but maybe I do like it.”

Tears streamed the girl's cheeks, Jian rubbed Lien Hua's face gently. “I understand, feelings can change over time. Thank you for not forgetting me and our promise, meet Prince Zhang. He is in a bad state.”

“What, means?” lien Hua asked, Jian lowered his head. “Your Majesty drank the poison.”

“Toxic it-wait! What does it mean with the poison that my mother once made??” lien Hua asked in shock, Jian nodded. “But why is the poison here? It was gone years ago, right?”

“Melia, during the raid on the palace. Someone stole aunty's poison from a secret laboratory and kept it as a weapon, it might just be an imperial rebel.”
