50. AMBLYOPIA

"Come on, on breakfast first all. Here, yes, the title of the carpet, let it be a bit free." I helped Ms. Nita roll out the carpet and put food on it.

After finishing breakfast, Randi and I took Dian to the eye clinic. The distance from the clinic to the house is quite close, we took a gojek to the clinic.

Because it was still morning, Dian got the initial queue number, number 3. We sit waiting.

The examination of patients in this clinic is quite detailed it seems, even though Dian is in the queue number 3, we still have to wait a bit long. About an hour.

"Dian." I heard a call for Dian. Randi and I were going to take the drop, but said the officer, who was dropping off just one person.

"Who are you going in?" Randi asked.

"Whatever." I'm handing the decision to Randi. Finally, Randi decided, he was the only one to drive. I sat waiting in my chair. About thirty minutes Dian was in the examination room. Pretty worried also actually this heart, I am afraid of things happening dangerous to Dian's eyes.

Randi and Dian came out of the examination room. I looked at Randi's face, making sure that nothing serious happened. Randi understood, he gave a thumbs up, I don't know what he meant. I'm not delaying anymore. After Randi approached, I immediately asked.

"What's the doctor saying, Ran?" Randi looked at me.

"Amblyopia." Of course I don't understand what Randi said. But I can't wait for Randi to explain everything.

"So the gini doctor said, there is a decrease in vision due to abnormal visual development in Dian's eyes." Randi explained as her tone mimicked that of a doctor when explaining.

"So, why did he say, how could Dian's eyes be like that?" I was curious, and at the same time astonished.

"Amblyopia says doctors does occur often in early childhood. When the neural pathways between the brain and the eye are not stimulated properly, the brain prefers the other eye." Waduh, has started the language of medicine that Randi said.

"What did the doctor say just now, don't you understand, Ran?" Randi chuckles. Head shakes.

"Mmm.. basic yes! it's a kayak that doesn't understand." Randi chuckled again.

"So, what else did the doctor say?" I asked Randi again. Although not very understanding, it is okay to hear what Randi has heard from the doctor. Hopefully, it will become a science.

"Symptoms are usually crossed eyes, eyes that may not look to work together, Both eyes can be affected. That's what I heard."

"Then I was told to watch Dian's eyes. Try to see too. Dian, try here." Dian approaching.

"Try Dian to see sister." Dian stared at. Sure enough, when observed more carefully, Dian's eyes slightly squinted. Just a little tap, a glimpse invisible.

In my heart I give thanks. Not grateful because Dian's eyes hurt, but grateful because the pain of Dian's eyes is known by me and Randi now. When handled early, perhaps the chance for a cure could be greater.

"The doctor's word can be cured, right, Ran?"

" God willing can, but come back again, who heals it is God. Man can only work. So the doctor said." Thankfully, Sandy is serious now. So everything the doctor said could be well recorded by the memory in his head. Randi usually fails to focus. He's a bit of a bitch, but this time he's really serious.

"Then the medical effort for Dian what dong?"

"Handling can be the use of blindfolds, eye drops, glasses or contact lenses, and sometimes surgery. That's some alternative work that can be done."

"Operation don't first yes, Ran. Poor Dian, it's a little boy. Unless there's no other option but surgery."

"For Dian anyway, there can still be healing efforts without surgery."

"Alhamdulillah. Then?"

"I told you, we tried to wear glasses only once. What do you think, Wil?"

"OK-okay, do me anyway. What matters is what we do in an effort to heal. But if it can work out according to the expert's lead." Randi and I agreed that Dian's first attempt was to wear glasses.

"When do we have to come here again, Ran?"

"Wad. The day after tomorrow means Monday? How are we, Ran? We have to go to school, we have to take Dian, we have to take Mr. Nana." Randi scratching his head. I myself should think. Dian was patiently waiting while still sitting next to me.

"Try asking, Ran. Schedule a visit, if the afternoon can not?"

"okay." Randi walked to the registration section, to ask for information, before long Randi returned again.

"Can, Wil. Monday afternoon at 16:00-19:00 with the same doctor."

"Sip. Just looking for information on the schedule of visits for Mr. Nana means." We're a little calm. At least the problem of dropping off Dian was addressed.

"Yes already. Let's go to the pharmacy." We walked to the clinic, which was still inside the clinic building. Coincidentally the queue at the pharmacy was not much, so just a few minutes, we had received the medicine.

Drugs given by the new doctor eye drops only. Dropped twice a day.

Returning from the eye clinic, Randi again ordered two gojek. One for me and Dian, one for Randi. Ten minutes later, we got home again. I saw Nita's mother sitting on the porch. We say hello,

"Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikum Salam." Answer Ms. Nita.

"Self, Mom?" I'm feeling stale.

"Yes, my father will come home a bit unfortunate. Grandma's in the room, Mr. Nana too." Bu Nita explained the reason for his loneliness.

"Where is the doctor's diagnosis for Dian?" Nita's mother immediately asked about Dian's condition. Randi explained in detail, nothing was missed at all.

"Thank God then. Stay on medication as directed by the doctor."

"Yes, Mom."

"Let's go in, maybe eat, the food's ready at the table."

"Good, Mom. We go in first, Mom. Eat it again like it was this morning." Dian and I pamit. Randi was still sitting around accompanying mom, while opening up HP.

Not to forget I told Dian to wash his hands and wash his face before entering the room, at least hands so clean.

"Come here, brother drops his eye medicine. You sleep first." Dian according.

"Try, his eyes opened yes, do not hurt really, even later so eat his eyes, so clean." I'm acting pretentious. Though I myself do not know the function of the drops for Dian's eyes. I was just guessing.

In the afternoon, David was home. We were sitting on the terrace of the house. Nita's mother, Mr. David, me, Randi, and Dian. Grandma and Mr. Nana were back in the room after finishing lunch. Grandma said, grandma tried to make Mr. Nana feel at home in the room. Because if you go out, grandma is worried that Mr. Nana is leaving Mother Nita's house. In Garut already used to Mr. Nana likes to walk alone. But if in Garut, grandma has memorized where to look for Mr. Nana. If it's here, it'll be a hassle. So said grandma.

We are talking about the condition of Dian's eyes. Suddenly we heard a noise in my grandmother's room. Randi and I approached, We heard Mr. Nana screaming for the door to open. The door was closed and locked by the grandmother from the inside.

"Dor, dor, dor" Mr. Nana shouted while banging on the door. It seems like grandma is overwhelmed controlling Mr. Nana.
