Chaptre 58. Emperor's Decree
Jia Xiulan quickly regained his senses from his shock, then immediately led them into the Emperor's private room.
After they arrived, Ling Tian and the others sat down while waiting for the Emperor's arrival. The waiter who was placed in the room immediately served tea and brought some Spirit Fruit as a snack for them.
Actually with Ling Tian's extremely sharp and extremely sensitive hearing, he listened to all of what the advisor had whispered to the Emperor, but he did not understand why the Emperor wanted to speak to him.
The Jia Xiulan Guards who had been with them before, had reported what he knew about Ling Tian.

Moments later, the Emperor had arrived accompanied by his advisor. The emperor then smiled at Ling Tian and the others.
They would stand up to greet the Emperor but the Emperor raised his hand to hold them.
"This is my private room, and the people who have entered this room are the people I have considered my family. So you don't have to be formal with me." The Emperor raised his hand to signal that they would remain seated.
The emperor then sat down in his chair, then said to Ling Tian.. "I heard from my subordinates that you are indeed right as what the rumors say. You have such incredible power that you get the nickname Monster."
"We were having a meeting to talk about a very important matter, which is about the Ma empire that had submitted a marriage proposal to Xiu'er with one of their Princes."
"If we don't agree to it, then the Ma empire will sever all ties with the Jia empire and will immediately attack with their full strength."
"If it was a normal Prince, maybe we would have thought of agreeing to it. But it was the Prince who was mentally handicapped from birth, which signified that the Ma empire was insincere with the marriage proposal and that meant they were greatly degrading our Jia empire." The Emperor continued again in a sad tone.
"I will never marry a Prince from the Ma empire even though he is a normal person..!" Jia Xiulan said firmly.
"Father also knows about it Xiu'er, but you know for yourself that the power of the Ma empire is above the power of our Jia empire."
"Whatever happens, I will never marry a Prince from any empire..!" Jia Xiulan's tone grew even more resolute.
"Piiiuuhhh.. Imperial envoy Ma will come tomorrow to deliver the wedding dowry. If we reject it, we must prepare for war with them." The emperor took a long breath.
"Bad.. All my guesses turned out to be wrong." Ling Tian.
"If the Princess doesn't agree to it, just say "No" to them. And if they want war, let's fight it." Ling Tian said casually while shrugging his shoulders.
"The Jia Empire only has 1 strongest person, namely the Azure Dragon Academy's Head whose cultivation is at the fifth stage of the Diamond Star. As for the Ma empire, they had the 3 strongest people whose cultivation was the same as the Head of the Azure Dragon Academy." Said the Emperor's advisor.
"Their soldiers are also very numerous and have a combat power that is stronger than our soldiers. If we force it to go to war with them, maybe in just a year they will rule the entire territory of the Jia empire." Continue with the advisor.
"That's just the opinions and estimates of all of you, but it's not clear what you think will happen. If we don't try it, how will we be able to figure out the result." Ling Tian said calmly as he smiled towards the Emperor and his advisor.
Hearing Ling Tian's words, the Emperor and the examiner were greatly shocked. The two of them looked at each other for not daring to take the risk as Ling Tian had said.
"If Your Majesty believes me, just tell imperial envoy Ma that Your Majesty has not accepted their offer. But if Your Majesty doubts me, just sacrifice the Princess to meet their demands." Ling Tian still smiled calmly.
"Maybe this should be taken into account carefully with the officials and generals at the meeting to be held tomorrow." The Emperor said in a soft tone.
For Ling Han and the others, they simply quietly listened to the conversation between Ling Tian and the Emperor.
Ling Tian and the others still stayed in the Emperor's private room for a few minutes, then followed Jia Xiulan who delivered them to the room the servants had prepared.
The waiter had prepared 5 rooms for them, but they only used 3 rooms. Zhang Xuan would stay alone in one of the rooms. Ling Tian and Ling Han stayed together, while for Lin Yue and Su Mei, the two of them also stayed together.
The next day, Ling Tian did not attend the meeting held by the Emperor and his subordinates. He simply sat leisurely in the palace garden with the others enjoying the surrounding scenery.
Xiaohai who was lazing in the garden also immediately raised his head to look up at the sky. He sensed a Spirit Beast fly towards the palace. But he quickly lay down again continuing his activities.
Xiaohai sensed that it was only a level 3 Spirit Beast whose cultivation was at the eighth stage of the Golden Star. It was just like an ant in his eyes, as Xiaohai's level had now risen to become a level 4 Spirit Beast.
"Hmmm.. Could it be that it was an envoy from the Ma empire..?" Ling Tian who sensed the arrival of the Spirit Beast, asked in his heart.
All who were there could feel it too, but they remained relaxed and did not care about it. They thought, maybe it was the Spirit Beasts of the officials who were going to attend the meeting in the palace.

In the palace hall where the Emperor and his subordinates held a meeting..
A soldier was crouching with one leg touching the floor, then bowing and saluting to the Emperor. "Your Majesty..! Imperial envoy Ma has arrived..!"
"Hmmm.. Get him in..!" The emperor said calmly.
"Well That Started..!" The soldier immediately rushed to greet the imperial envoy Ma, then led him into the palace hall.
"Greet Your Majesty." Imperial envoy Ma bowed and paid his respects to the Emperor.
"Mm.." The Emperor nodded towards the envoy.
"I am here because I have been sent by His Majesty Emperor Ma, to deliver the marriage dowry to His Majesty Emperor Jia." The messenger said with a smile.
"What would Emperor Ma do if I refused the marriage dowry and did not allow my Daughter to marry your Prince..?" Said the Emperor still in his calm tone.
"Your Majesty Emperor Ma said that if His Majesty Emperor Jia rejects him, the Jia Empire will bear all the consequences." The envoy's smile looked insulting.
Everyone in the hall clenched their teeth in anger, only the Emperor and his advisors remained calm hearing what the envoy said.
"All right..! Tell Emperor Ma that I refuse his offer. And if the Ma empire is to threaten to invade the Jia empire, we will be ready to go to war with it." The emperor stood up from his throne and said firmly. He had finally made up his mind to believe what Ling Tian had said.
Imperial envoy Ma was surprised for a moment to hear what the Jia Emperor said, then he said with a sneering tone.. "Since His Majesty Emperor Jia has decided on it, I will return soon to say it to His Majesty Emperor Ma."
"All right..! Prepare all of you to face the consequences." Said the envoy who looked towards the officials and the Generals, then sneered at them.
Everyone immediately stood up and was about to attack the envoy, but the Emperor immediately stopped them.
The envoy then turned around and walked out of the hall, then immediately returned to convey what the Jia Emperor had said.
