Chapter 4 (Part 1)

Old News

Three days after his third dream, Shumi's daily life was lived as usual, as if what was conveyed by Modena was the conclusion of all these events. Shumi also had not talked about it with his father, because it was the night of the day, The King just said goodbye to him to go to the Southwest Earth Province to attend a very important meeting related to the White Forest Kingdom.

The same thing happened to Queen Stephanie and Shukoi who had never touched on her dream again. Zain had also been on his mission and set out with his troops in the morning since they last met at the main army barracks of the kingdom. This makes Shumi almost forget all the connections to his dream, although he still remembers how the events in his dream happened.

Shumi is now quite busy with his research in the discovery of herbs for his mother's disease, even during these three days, he was only in the royal laboratory and his team. He only went to the Queen's bedroom every meal hour to eat with his mother.

The results of the royal doctor's investigation have now managed to get new clues about the disease that attacked the Queen. The result was delivered to the palace occupants the day after Shumi's last dream. The latest results say that the Queen is aging physically very fast. This caused him to lose his strength and continuously his condition worsened. However, they still have no information on the cause. But, they were trying to find a potion to slow down this process.

Shumi officially focused directly on the research of making the potion. Therefore, during these three days, he had always been in the royal laboratory and returned to the palace late at night. However, all the fatigue he felt was quite fruitful. He managed to make the potion in question and ordered his team to take the ingredients in large quantities and produce it. It's just that, the potion uses ingredients that are quite rare, so it will take a long time to make more.

“Mother, the herb has been successfully made and has been tested enough to stop the aging process even though it may not be maximal,” explained Shumi who with a very happy feeling, who, bring the results of his research directly to the Queen. “Tim is trying to find these ingredients again, although for now only three doses remain, Bu,” he said again with a little regret.

Queen Stephanie smiled widely in her condition lying helplessly on her bed. He looks older than three days ago. His skin began to wrinkle and his hair began to fall out. It's getting pale and weak. “Thank you, my son, you are so talented, I am proud of you,”.

“Chealing fast, Mom,” said Shumi now sitting in a chair that was right on the side of her mother's bed that she always used when eating with her. Shumi started shedding tears, “Shumi missed a healthy Mom.”

“Thank you, Shumi,” reply Queen Stephanie. He also began to shed his tears. “Already, do not cry, Mother will heal with your homemade potion,” he said again.

Shumi hugged her lying mother. “Shumi loves you very much, Mom,”. Queen Stephanie rubbed her adopted daughter's back slowly with the strength she currently had.

After a while, Shumi sat back down and opened the lid of the bright yellow potion bottle that he had been holding from earlier. He slowly fed it into his mother's mouth until the Queen finished it without choking despite drinking it lying down.

“Thank you, Shumi,” said Queen Stephanie.

“Don't thank me, Mom, It's my obligation as a child,” reply Shumi smiled, “hopefully Mother is much better.”

“Why is Mom staring at Shumi like that?” shumi asked at the end.

Queen Stephanie chuckles. “It's okay, Shumi," she said, “Mom wants to tell you a little story, if you want to listen.”

“Of course, Mom,” replied Shumi, “I will always be here and listen until mom finishes telling her story,” Shumi began to archive herself to listen.

“Then, about 45 years ago, a woman was born in a very terrible state of war,” Queen Stephanie began to tell stories, she said, “warfare caused only by misunderstanding and power that is not satisfied.”

Shumi began to imagine what her mother was telling her and continued to pay attention.

“The baby girl was taken away and never met her parents because according to the news, they were killed a few hours after giving birth to her in a city that was suddenly invaded by a large and ruthless army. The baby girl was somehow saved and taken away from the devastated city,” continued Queen Stephanie, “the baby was cared for and raised by a woman who saved him until he was 12 years old. They lived in a small hut near the beach and were alone. The daughter always believed that the person who raised her was her mother even though from the first time the memory was in her mind, the woman always said that she was not her mother and kept telling her that the child's biological parents had died as a result of the war.”

Shumi continued to listen and Queen Stephanie continued her story.

“Until the time when they came a number of troops and a King who was then leading the country. The news that the royal victory killed the rebels turned out to be true and the King himself deliberately met the woman who raised the daughter earlier. The girl was initially very frightened because not many people had come to their homes before, let alone being escorted by such heavily armed forces. Usually who stop by their huts, only traders who really travel from one place to another for the sake of living even in conditions of war.”

Queen Stephanie asks for help to sit down and Shumi helps her. He then continued his story, “either what was conveyed by the King, they then brought the woman and daughter along with him. They moved to a newly rebuilt city after a meltdown. This is the birth city of the daughter. They were eventually given a home and lived there. The king left them with some treasure and several times in the coming months, he often met the woman and went together for one to two nights leaving the daughter to a nanny and guardian who the King took with him every time he visited.

“However, only after two years, they returned the arrival of someone very important in the country. They were the arrival of the Queen, the King's legal wife at the time. And,” Queen Stephanie swallowed her own saliva for a moment, “and in front of the girl's eyes, the woman she thought was her mother, was stabbed and tried to be killed after a slight bickering. Helpless, the Queen abandoned them. Lucky that night there was a pair of traveller magicians who helped them and provided healing magic.”

“They are Quartz?” shumi asked to cut.

“Yes, they are travelers of white descent.”
