Holy City of Topaz (Part 4)

Shumi walked in escorted by two guards in armor in front of him, two more on his right and left and two people behind him. The guard in front of him on the right, carrying Shumi's bow and arrow.

Many residents of the city who watch it like a criminal who was caught by officers. Although there were no emotional gazes from the audience, he was uncomfortable with it.

He passed a wide road. The road was full of rocks that were arranged and leveled so as to cover the ground below. The gaps between the rocks are filled with small grasses but no one dares to pass through the surface of the rock. The city houses were also made of different painted wood with colors that did not show the eye. Shumi considered this city more suitable to be called a large village because of the atmosphere and type of building. He tried to enjoy the trip so that his discomfort could be overcome.

A few moments walking and passing several turns, Maheer who walked the front of the group guided the group to a fairly long staircase. Shumi tried to look at the end of the stairs and he found nothing but a blue sky and a thin aurora.

Shumi and the troupe began to climb up the steps one after another. I don't know how many steps it is, but enough to make his legs feel heavy. His physical training did feel very lacking, he thought.

It took me a while to get to the top. Shumi was still staring at the floor and looking at his shadow. The ground below this time was covered by an equally large and tightly arranged box-shaped rock. He thought this was a special place in the city.

Shumi held her head up. He saw a rectangular and concrete walled building. The type of roof is very typical because the angle is curved upwards towards a short top line. Many hang ornaments and ornaments on the walls and ceilings of the building.

They arrived in front of the gate of the building. There were only two robed guards there who bowed in salute to Maheer and opened the door.

Shumi had not been able to see the inside of the building before he actually entered. The room was actually a rectangular shape that was almost empty but very elegant. Just like the royal throne room, where there are some flags with symbols that Shumi does not understand. Stretched red carpet is also right from the lip of the entrance to the end of the room as if splitting the width of the room into two equally large sides.

Shumi stopped not far from the gate, then the guards in front and beside him went wide to Shumi's right and left, until parallel to the roof poles are lined neatly on the right and left of the room. On the outside of the columns there are several long benches that are also neatly arranged facing the end of the side of the building which is now in front of Shumi.

“Greetings to the Great, Third Chief Yasmine Almeeira,” Maheer said and simultaneously the guards there clapped their hands to the chests of each other so that they were smashed with metal from their armor.

Shumi only realized, that at the end of the room there was a white throne, like made of marble that was very shiny. The back was high enough that a long, flaming red-haired woman sitting on the throne looked very short.

She was very beautiful with pink eyes. His straight hair was stretched all over his back to touch the throne. Her skin was so pure white wrapped in a white dress like a queen. He grasped a wooden staff of gold type and at the end was engraved two dragons without wings posing as if they were circling something in the middle that looked empty. And what caught Shumi's attention was a necklace that was clearly seen circling his neck.

The necklace he had seen before. It was not the type or shape of the necklace that hung around the woman's neck, but a piece of stone that was tied in the eye of the necklace and hung above the woman's chest. The color of the mesh makes Shumi remember something. It was the necklace the man who killed his real father wore.

“Thank you, Maheer! Greetings!” answer the woman. His voice was very smooth, firm and as beautiful as the owner's.

The guards returned to their positions as before. So did Maheer who walked backwards, passing Shumi and the two guards behind him, then stopped so that it was a few steps away from the guard.

“Shumi Mediane?!” yasmine asked again looking at the person she called.

“Since when? How does he know?” shumi asked inwardly who returned Yasmine's gaze sharply as well.

“Shocked?” ask again while smiling.

Shumi was silent. It must be magic he thought.

“I am the Coconut of the Quarzt Tribe, so I have the privilege of knowing everything that my people know in this city, Shumi! Even what you know! And this is not magic!” obviously, “ya, I was surprised earlier, because you finally returned to your birthplace, maybe along with Maheer's shock when he found out who you were.”

“Welcome back, daughter of Minna Scarlet and Zahid Salim!” greet Yasmine, “emm, or rather, the Crown Princess of Earth Kingdom!”

Maheer was heard squealing softly and his feet were like swiping on the floor. Shumi was also growing quiet and dumbfounded.

“What's up, Maheer? This is the man you failed to kill that night?” ask Yasmine.

This time Shumi managed to turn her body around. He wanted to look at Maheer's face more closely because of Yasmine's words earlier, this means that he has met one of the men who killed his father even though he doubts that he will be able to match his face with the killer because he has never seen Maheer's face before. But, emotions began to overflow in Shumi's body.

Maheer seemed to be misbehaving. His breathing is irregular.

“Quiet Maheer, Shumi! Let me explain everything!” yasmine.

“I know your purpose here is to meet your sister, so there's no need for you to try to add to your purpose that will dirty your hands, Shumi!” Yasmine started telling me, “Maheer just obeyed the orders of her leader, Aziz! And I, who ordered to take you from your parents, did not at all order him to kill anyone!”

Everyone in the room was silent.

“But, maybe Aziz and Faiz are dead by now, so let's finish the revenge game!” added Yasmine. His gaze continued towards Shumi's eyes which also kept replying to him. “And your sister I called here! We just wait!” he added.

“Am I going to be killed here? I am the sin of the purity of this people right?!” shumi said, this “blood in me is a disaster for you guys, right?!”

“Oh, don't talk like that, Shumi! Indeed, that purity is the advice of our ancestors, and if you talk like that, it's the same as challenging our ancestors, right?”

Shumi remained silent. He really doesn't care about that.

“Special to you, based on the decisions of the pure witches of the four races who guard the Arez stake in this city, you may live, Shumi! But you have to go and never come back here!” Yasmine turned her head towards Shumi's right, precisely to the guard who was holding Shumi's bow.

“Run your life like a human knight with one of the three legendary bows in this world!”

“Just because I brought the Zephyr Bow, you call me a knight? I don't need that!” reply Shumi began to emotion again, “for me, if can remove such rules without weapons, it will be much better!”

“Quiet, Shumi! That's not what I mean!” yasmine, “rightly, if I can revoke that rule, I will be unplugged since I have occupied this throne! But, those are all orders from our ancestors!

“In fact, if I also choose to fanatically maintain that purity, then the exception of you will be violated! But, look at the truth! Aziz and Faiz who broke my orders and went home with your parents' blood, and they've punished me with merit!”

Shumi shaking. He seemed to be cornered by Yasmine's explanation.

“Indeed I was in charge of all those events! And I've also been punished for my mistakes!”

“How do I know you're not lying?”

“Your heart can answer it, son!”

Shumi remained silent. He didn't feel like what he heard was wrong.

“This city does not allow magic to manipulate living people! Black magic won't work if you use it here! This city is the Holy City! So I won't be able to get dirty by lying to you even hearing magic! And you know, I really hate lies, including from my own mouth!”

Unknowingly, Shumi's cheeks were already wet. Her tears slowly spilled.

“So, they killed my mom too?”

“They're in my post telling them to execute Scarlet! I do have the power of the quartz, but it's only the city's fortress, Shumi! So, I can't prevent that! Plus, your parents chose to give birth to you beyond my reach!”

“They don't want you to know my birth and snatch one of their babies born humans!”

“They can't wait for the decision of the pure witches who were asking eidolon at the time, Shumi! Your parents just don't want to risk it if the decision is to reject that exclusion on you!”

Suddenly someone opened the gate behind Shumi and entered. The sound of her footsteps was clearly heard getting closer towards Shumi who was still staring at Yasmine. The move then came to a halt right beside Shumi.

“Goodbye, Third Chief Yasmine Almeeira!” greet the man.

“Thank you, Shinta Mecca! Greetings!” reply Yasmine.

Slowly Shumi turned his head to the right. He saw a young woman, pale white as snow with long black hair surging to her waist. Shumi looked at the woman. He kept staring at the bright green eyes of the woman. Same color as his eyeball.

“Ki..Kienka?” ask Shumi lirih.
