"Say it again...." Aira pulled on Arsyad's shirt and looked into her husband's eyes. " I what?"
Aira's heart seemed to stop beating waiting for the husband's answer, while Arsya had now shed tears, she pulled Aira and hugged him tightly while continuing to mutter an apology.
Aira rebelled, she hit her husband's chest and kept asking. "I what?"
"Sorry, Honey. I'm sorry" said Arsyad. "I'm afraid you're sad, I'm hiding this fact because I don't want you to be sad."
"But now you're killing me" said Aira, who made Arsyad's heart break. "You have arranged everything perfectly, you have betrayed me. You tricked me, you're evil, Arsyad. You're really the meanest, meanest man I've ever met in this world." Aira continued to hit Arsyad's chest with passionate emotions.
"I hate you, Arsyad. I hate you so much, you fooled me, why are you doing this? What's wrong?"
"It's not my fault that I can't give birth, but why do you have heart, Arsyad? I am devoted to you, love you and respect you. But why are you still deceiving me?"
"Is it all lacking? You can tell me."
Arsyad just silent with tears, he let Aira hit him, let out a tear in his heart even Arsyad willingly and accept if Aira would berate him.
"I can't tell you that fact, honey. I can't help it," whispered Arsyad who was still holding Aira. "I thought I wanted to protect your feelings by hiding that fact, but I got caught up in my own lies. I'm sorry, Humaira. I was wrong, I knew I was wrong. I'll accept any punishment, but I beg you not .... Aira ... Aira's...."
Arsyad called his wife who suddenly fell silent and sobs were no longer heard, Aira also no longer hit him.
"Aira..." cried Arsyad when he realized the wife had been unconscious, Aira's hands drooped, her skin felt so cold.
"Darling...."
"Moor...."
"Wake up....."
Arsyad patted his wife's cheek but Aira did not respond in the slightest, her eyes closed tightly and her face looked so pale.
Arsyad immediately drove his car home, occasionally he glanced at the face of the wife who was covered with the rest of the tears that still wet his cheeks.
Arriving at home, Arsyad immediately took Aira to his room, putting her to bed carefully.
Arsyad grabbed Aira's hand, kissed her and went back to apologizing incessantly.
...
Slowly the water opened its eyes as it felt the sunlight touch its face, and it faintly heard the voice of someone who was speaking.
Aira's entire body felt so limp and powerless, her head was dizzy as well.
Aira groaned and she sat down. Aira looked around, realizing she was in her room.
Aira cried again when she remembered what Arsyad said before she fainted.
"I...." Aira held onto her stomach and the sadness hit her again. "Sniff, is that true, O God? Why did this have to happen to me? Why did you ruin my life, God? Why?" furious while squeezing the sheets, this reality was so bitter, Aira felt unable to accept it.
Aira got off her bed and approached the origin of the voice.
"But everything has happened, Arsyad. Ummi apologizes if you think this is wrong, Ummi did this so you could have children because Aira couldn't possibly give you a child."
Aira's heart gasped when she heard her mother-in-law's voice, she eavesdropped on Arsyad and Ummi Ridha's debate down there from the stairs, and the mother and child seemed to be struggling.
"I'm happy with Aira, Ummi. I'm so happy, the birth of a child in our marriage is a bonus from God, not an obligation!" Arsyad yelled back with emotion that even made Aira very surprised, this was the first time he saw Arsyad yelling at his mother
Arsyad knew he should not have yelled at Ummi, but he no longer knew how to control himself.
"Arsyad, if Aira had known that she was barren, Ummi was sure she would have accepted Anggun."
Aira's heart was like sliced to hear the words that her mother-in-law said so lightly.
"So right, Ummi who wants Arsyad to marry again?" it makes sad.
"Ummi knew, Ummi was wrong for forcing you to marry Anggun without telling Aira, Ummi would apologize to Aira, if necessary, Ummi would bow to her in order to forgive Ummi's mistake."
Arshad could only be flabbergasted at the mother's words, he looked at the woman who had given everything to him, including immense suffering.
While Aira, she could only be astonished, not believing such words were thrown from the lips of her mother-in-law whom she had always considered her own birth mother.
"There is no need to prostrate to me" Aira continued and then stepped down from the stairs.
Arsyad and Ummi Ridha turned to Aira. "Darling, you finally came to your senses as well" cried Arsyad breathing a sigh of relief. Aira passed out last night, and all night Arsyad did not sleep to take care of his wife.
Aira did not respond to Arsyad's words, he just looked at Ummi Ridha's eyes sharply. "Take that into account only to Allah, Ummi. Not to humans!"
"Aira, Arsyad is not wrong in this. This is the will of Ummi and Ummi to do it for the sake of his happiness," exclaimed Ummi Ridha who made Aira smile wryly.
"You paid for your son's happiness by destroying him" Aira said coldly. "And you too...." Aira looked at Arsyad. "Why must there be so many lies, huh? For fear that I am sad? Keep getting married again behind my back that you think I'll be happy? Naive you!"
"Darling, Aira....."
"Forced? Forced your mother?" cut Aira fast.
"And.." now Aira looked at Ummi Ridha. "How come Ummi did this to me, Ummi who came to my parents, asked me to be a good companion for your son.
Convince my parents that your son can be a good priest to me. But Ummi also ruined our lives, and Ummi also made Arshad unable to be a good priest to me."
"Aira, Arsyad has been a very good husband to you, he accepts you for who you are" said Ummi Ridha. "It's true, Arsyad remarried but he didn't cheat because his relationship and graceful was legitimate, but that doesn't mean Arsyad doesn't love you...."
"I'M NOT TALKING LOVE!" sela Aira is full of emphasis that makes Ummi Ridha flabbergasted. "I'm talking about responsibility, honesty, as a husband." Arsyad could only stare at Aira with teary eyes.
"It is true, it is not an obligation to tell the wife that the husband will marry again" he said later. "Indeed, a relationship that is tied to marriage either openly or secretly remains valid in the eyes of religion. But is it right to lie to a wife? Is it right to hurt the heart of a wife who has been very loving and devoted to her husband? Is it right to make a wife depressed, to shed tears, just for the sake of her needs?"
Aira looked at Ummi Ridha who was now just silent. "Did not the Prophet say, the best man is the best to his wife? Is Arsyad good to me and to his second wife, Ummi?"
