The Unexpected Plan of Bram

"Lately, I've noticed that your relationship with Andrian is getting closer. But I'm glad that's what I expected." Bram's baritone voice filled the dining room that morning.

Maura simply replied with a forced smile. He continued his breakfast despite having lost his taste due to this discussion.

''Dad, there are other plans. I hope you'll agree, Maura."

Maura and Rayyan threw each other a glance, as if asking through an eye gesture what the plan was. Remember, the figure of Bram is a man that is difficult to guess.

''What plan, Dad?''

''Dad's planning to cancel the engagement."

''What?!''

Maura was very surprised to hear that. However, a second later a smile appeared on his lips. For some reason, his father's statement was like a fresh breeze amid the stifling sensation he had felt for several days.

''But I will marry you straight away."

''Ahhhhh!"

Like being tossed up into the seventh heaven, and then directly thrown down to the bottom of the earth. That was how Maura felt. The sweet smile that rose from her lips turned into a wry smile.

''How do you agree, right?"

''La-directly, Dad?"

Bram nodded steadily.

''Isn't it too fast?"

''No, Darling ... I think your approach is enough. I'm afraid you're changing your mind again." Bram explained the reason.

Rayyan, who had become a loyal listener, could only fold her mouth deeply so that her laughter would not break. Maura who saw that also replied with an annoyed glance.

''Why don't you ask Rayyan to marry first?" Maura filed her protest.

Uhuk-uhuk!

Rayyan choked on the food that had entered her throat. She was very surprised to hear the opinion her cousin had put forward.

''Careful, Ray. It's a direct choking," said Maura with a look full of ridicule.

The woman gave a glass of water which was immediately welcomed by the man to the toilet.

''On occasion, ''Ente, '" said Rayyan resentfully.

''What?" Maura looked at the man bravely.

''It's manageable but I want to see you get married first, honey. Dad is old. I need a successor who can continue the company of the father, while you're the only descendant of the father."

''But, Dad...." Maura's words hang just like that when she gets a hard kick on her legs under the table.

''Alright," said the woman resignedly.

The spark of happiness was clearly drawn on that old face. A bright smile was perfectly painted on his lips.

''Thank you, dear. You are indeed father's daughter.''

''Well, I want to go back to the apartment. What can?" maura asked anxiously.

He hoped his father would grant his request. It is undeniable, for almost a month living in this house. There was a lot of pressure he felt. And she wants to take off all that burden with various with her best friend, Mira.

Bram seemed to think for a moment, until a while later, he nodded slowly as a sign of agreement.

''Thanks, yeah, Dad...." Maura immediately approached the middle-aged man, then slammed tightly around his father's neck.

''But remember...."

''It must always be under surveillance" Maura said quickly.

''Smart kid...."

Rayyan also felt the happiness that was in front of her. He was grateful to see her coming together with the family she had been looking for all these years.

...----------------...

''How do you feel, Ra?" rayyan asked as they were on their way to work.

''Come on, Ray," Maura replied softly, turning her eyes out the window.

''Are you still going to continue with your cats?"

Maura replied by shrugging both of her shoulders.

''Instead of getting caught, Om Bram will be more disappointed," continued the man is still focused on the wheel.

''Come on, the most important thing is to live it. If you're gonna be a match, there's a way."

''Desperation is okay but also effort is also necessary."

''Ah, come on, Ray. Your rant is making my head hurt."

Coinciding at that time, the car that was driven by Rayyan arrived in front of the hospital lobby owned by his family. Maura immediately came out without saying a word, even she had a chance to slam the door.

''The fruit fell not far from the tree. Can be far away, as long as the fruit rolls, then plunges into the river, then carried away by the torrent," Rayyan monologued in his car.

...----------------...

''Come on, pick up dong, Em...." Maura muttered uneasily by pacing to and fro. The phone still stuck faithfully in his ear. The fingernails of the hand become an impingement of endless anxiety.

He tried many times to contact Emran to tell the man about his father's impromptu plans. However, the nil call was connected but ended with a voicemail recommendation.

''Where are you, Em ... Dozens of times connected but none of them you picked up." Maura's frustration was at the highest peak, so she wanted to slam her phone right then and there.

He tried again, maybe the guy would pick him up. However, not yet had his call connected, Andrian just entered his room.

''Maura, there's something I want to talk to you about."

The surprised Maura immediately put her phone in her white coat pocket without turning off the connection.

''What?"

''Let's talk over lunch."

''Alright..."

...----------------...

''Ra, is it true that Mr Bram intends to directly marry us without getting engaged?"

''Yes," replied Maura flatly.

''Do you agree to it?"

Andrian who felt that he did not get any response from the woman in front of him continued his words.

''Emm, I mean ... If you disagree. You can refuse, even cancel. I'll get a chest. Later, I—''

''I agree to it," said Maura quickly.

''Really?" Andrian asked enthusiastically.

''Yes."

Emran clenched a strong hand. He who felt worried when he saw so many missed calls from his female devotee, immediately contacted. However, what he heard turned out to be a painful reality.

His eyes were reddened with the phone still stuck in his ears hearing all the talk of the two humans across there.

''You're a liar, Ra," growled Emran.

''You're a liar!"

''Traitors! Aarrrgh....''

PYAKS!!

"Jeez, Emran. Do you want to hurt your mother with that phone of yours," screeched Divia in her voice.

The woman was very surprised when she entered her son's room, greeted by a floating object that was right in front of her. Luckily, he immediately dodged, otherwise, it might have hit his head. So, the expensive phone had to be crushed horribly on the floor.

''What's up, brother? Try the story to mom. What makes you angry like this?" Divia approached her eldest son who was still trying to regulate emotions.

Emran was still silent with breath panting as if he had run out of a marathon of tens of kilometers. However, his gaze was straight ahead.

''It's a drink first." Divia took the initiative to give her a glass of water that she took from her son's desk.

Emran accepted it, then drank it to the toilet. Gradually, the man began to calm down. His breath was not hunting like before either.

''Why are you, brother? Try to slow down to my mom."

''He's a liar! He's traitor!"

''Who's up?"

''Maura."
