Memoria: Searching for My Memories in the Game!
Chapter 8: “Cupcake mistake"

^^^“I don't trust others easily.”^^^

Davis’ POVs

I was a little surprised to hear about Elliot and Lav going to farm together today. Especially the blonde guy. He was very lazy to bring others to farm or explore the map. Except for me, because I must be his party leader, and make decisions about what we're going to do. I can assure you this time Lav forced El to take her and she must have been troubled and regretted afterwards.

Well, they're having fun without me.

“Oi Lav, here.” I waved my hand at Lav who had just appeared on the portal of this half-dining garden map. My favorite spot is on the right near the fountain. Although I knew Lav must have known about it, but somehow I always called him to prevent him from fumbling around like a fool.

Yeah, I don't really want him to get lost. That'sthat's all.

I was siphoning a glass of chocolate milk in front of me with eyes that could not be separated from Lav who was walking closer. I raise my hand, making Lav stop when he just pulled the chair in front of me.

“No. I don't want to marry you.”

His face shriveled with annoyance, making me almost choke with the milk I drank because I couldn't help but laugh.

“Yang is right! El told you about it?!”

I smiled with the straw I bit, raising my two fingers hinting at the word ‘peace’. I sucked the glass back before putting it on the table. “We passed in front of the portal. He's still walking towards home. Said he'd be coming soon.”

I saw Lav breathing heavily. He drowned his face in the table made of magoni wood in front of us. Lavender's hair that he tied high as usual lifted up in front of my eyes.

Lavenders.

He suddenly woke up and held his chin up.

“I just need a slot for my storage. That'sthat's all. No more,” the lips he advanced made me smile ignorantly, the desire to tease him even higher.

“Not more? What is the invitation to marry?”

“Argh, no more, no more leverage, I don't want to talk about it,” now he covers his face with both palms.

I leaned my body back on the chair, folded my hands in front of my chest while watching him, “What's the matter? Why are you so obsessed with your storage, Lav?”

He put both his hands on the table. His tall ponytail was seen rising as he lowered his head. Her green iris noticed the red scrunchie she was wearing on her right hand. He played it while answering with a forward mouth, “I'm afraid. What if I run out of pills? You know I'm not very good at looking after myself. Like the last time it happened, if only you hadn't found me maybe I would have ended up being that NPC's son until this point.”

I straightened my hair a little while it was not messy at all. I put my body on the table and propped my chin up. “But I log in every day. What are you worried about? You won't die a thousand times a day kok.”

“That's not all I'm afraid of, Davey. What if you leave all of a sudden? Disappear and not come back? I can't count on you, I don't want to burden you who are busy in the real world and have to come a few times to check if I'm okay. Me...”

Lav finally looked at me with both of his eyebrows raised, “I'm afraid of dying and forget you completely, Dave.”

I stared at him for a moment, noticing one of his eyebrows that was different from the other. One scratch on the eyebrow was not lost. I still remember why the wound existed and exposed.

I gave that wound.

“Pfft. You're this. What kind of romance novel is this? Realize, we're just playing a game. Don't get carried away. You will die easily if you keep going,”, I replied as I devoured one of the cupcakes in front of me that I had ordered and came before.

“You must have wanted to talk disgusting like that, right? Whahuh? You want money?”

Lav suddenly glanced at the bag that he was still carrying earlier behind him. He lowered it and smirked like a horse. “Ehehe, I thought my acting was very good.”

“This is the second time you've been kicked out of the inn. How much do you need?”

“I don't need money.”

“Ha?”

Lav rubbed his neck side many times while answering nervously, “K-I think I can stay at your house for a while before I get any more money. That's also if you allow.”

“Get another money? How about money yesterday?!”

“I... uh, I spent it all on pills hehe.”

I rubbed my face in frustration and propped my forehead with my hand.

Horrifically. Though all the ways I do is the best way to earn money in this game world quickly. And he spends it that easy? Just be right.

“Listen, Lav. I think you should stop like this.”

“What's it like?”

Lav was about to grab a green tea flavored cupcake with vanilla cream in front of us but I patted the top of her hand and pointed at the chocolate flavor next to her. He was a little bit angry but according.

“Excessive worry about this. Notifications will appear if you respawn, Lav. Three notifications still not enough? And what, you're afraid your memory won't show up because it's dead too much? Didn't I tell you to make a diary in the form of a voice recording? Still not enough? Don't you forget to do it?”

The length of the explanation was only answered with the sound of Lav's mouth full. I think he did it on purpose, avoiding to answer me. I sighed and took the last cupcake.

Whatever.

“You've told Elliot?”

Lav devoured the last bite on the cupcake then replied, “About what?”

“Your condition, of course.”

It made him stop chewing on the rest of his chocolate cupcakes and he took his eyes off me before answering, “Once. I still can't trust him.”

“Come on, he's my friend from the beta era. Of all the people in this world, only he I allow you to trust.”

Lav laughed and I shook my head, holding back the laughter, “Oi, my voice is not like that.”

“Oi, my voice was not like that,” Lav imitated my voice again and I rolled up the tissue on the table, throwing it with the tissue ball. “Ouch! You're hurting me! What if I die?”

“Oh yes? Just die here you die,” I stand from my seat, Lav shouted and almost both hands clutching tightly at Lav's neck when a familiar voice came from the direction of the entrance portal.

“Hey, sorry I'm late.”

With my hand almost grabbing Lav and Lav's neck covering her with both hands, we turned around and saw Elliot approaching our table.

Back standing straight and tidying my hair, I also welcome the arrival of Elliot with the jotos we used to do, “You're back?”

“Yes, it won't take long. My inn is not too far from here.”

“Oh about the inn,” I stared at Lav who was sitting still with his confused face looking back at me. “Lav got kicked out of the inn again, I think you already know that. Why don't you ask her to stay ber—“

“Ahahaha, you are so cute Davey,” he suddenly stood beside me, hugging my right arm, that forced smile and laugh made me want to laugh.

“Oh, El. You just came, what if I order a drink? Davey's? Would you like some more drinks? Your milk is over,” asked suddenly, I looked up at him and gave me a strange look. It felt like he was telling me something through his green eyes, but I who did not get the signal just fell silent.

“Sure, I think you know better what drinks are currently trending. Why don't you just pick it for me?” The answer from Elliot made Lav say ‘oke’ before finally leaving with a fairly quick footstep towards a drink stand that was quite a distance away from our table.

“What's with her?”

“Entah.”

The short answer from me he responded with the shoulder he lifted and lowered back. After that I sat down again and Elliot took the seat that Lav had previously sat in.

Slowly this blonde man stared at the surroundings, it felt like he was inspecting this entire game. It seems he is still not familiar with the latest updates that have been done many times for this game. It has been a long time since he returned to this game. I'm sure he's trying to adapt back to his surroundings. Compared to the next game we played with the horror genre, I think this scene makes it like seeing a new world.

“You like this game's new updates? Hows it? You tried farming too, right?”

He casually placed one of his elbows on the table, propped up his blonde head, and saw the stand Lav was coming to. “Kurasa. It feels very strange, I am not used to the color is too striking.”

“Basic horror lovers,” I said with a little laugh. I put my feet up and I ogled Lav who was busy choosing a drink on the menu.

“You know something right,” he said suddenly.

“About what,” I answered lazily.

“That girl, of course.”

I played my hair by combing it back. I didn't think the habits in the real world could be carried over into this game world. I guess I had to break the habit, Lav always told me that I was too trying to cool in front of people. I did it unconsciously.

Sometimes I wake up and don't stop doing it either.

“Heh. Tell me first what the results of your observation,” I said by approaching the table, curious about what he would throw in response. “You played a lot with him today right? What say?”

Elliot, who was still in his leisure position, gave me a side-eye for a moment, before turning his eyes back to the girl on the topic.

“He's an elite group right?”

I paused for a moment to hear that answer, before staring at the unreal camera next to me and shaking my head afterwards, “Wah, so far you... ha, that's your observation?”.

Eventually Elliot changed his sitting position by leaning back and crossing his arms in front of his chest. “What's the reason?”

“I don't think you missed this time.”

“What do you mean missed?” He approached, put his hand on the table and continued talking, “All the character slots open in his account. Some times change the color of the eyes that are not cheap. Not log out and never seem to log out at all even at night.”

This is what I'm waiting for. Elliot, who rarely spoke but once discussed something important, never backed down.

“Then?”

His serious face never changed in the past. He slightly changed his sitting position before answering, “This only refers to one thing. This girl is an elite player who decides to stay in the game for good and scatters her parents' credit cards for the game. I don't get it. Why would you want to accompany a player like this? Aren't you an elite anti-player?”

I could go crazy. Of all my predictions for Elliot's observations of Lav, considering him an elite player was something that wasn't on my list. I don't think he's going to answer this detail. I don't think he cares much. Elliot was not the type of person who cared too much about other players. I didn't think he'd be this serious about watching Lav. I never thought this was the answer he gave me.

I think bringing him here to solve Lav's problem was the right decision.

Before I answered this slightly frustrated blonde man question in front of me, I heard the sound of spilled drinks and repeated apologies coming from the right side of our table. There Lav stood up and lowered his head many times on the NPC waitress that he did not seem to realize was just an NPC.

The look on his face was upset, sad and disappointed with the eyes that kept rolling from mine and then alternating with Elliot, then he immediately left us just like that.

Ah, goddamn. It seems he heard El's words earlier.

“Lav. Lav!” I hurried up from my seat and chased after him, but Elliot had already chased after him and pulled his arm which Lav brimmed with drama.

I just watched from behind, as Lav tried to hold back his tears he said, “True I am an elite player, then what? If I was that disgust for you you shouldn't have been nice to me from the beginning!”

Then he entered the portal and disappeared.

I told you this isn't a romance novel. Gosh darn.

Note Chapter!

- Elite players: Players who decide to make this game a place to stay for a long time. Usually they settle in lodging, moving around, or for players who have a lot of money (usually from their parents' credit cards) even have their own home. This gets a very negative view for some players especially the elite anti-player, because usually they have a lot of things and look very OP, even though they can not use the skill well. Wh why? Of course because they buy a lot but are lazy to improve their skills and abilities :)
