" Why are you?"
Sagara realized that after eating earlier Belva's behavior changed. Perhaps it was because he had said that he was not a man, but a descendant of a wise ruler of the sea.
" No, just take a closer look" Belva said. He keeps his distance from Sagara because he is afraid. Along the way to the wooden stilt house where Belva slept last night, it became awkward. Belva even only occasionally glances at Sagara with the tail of an eye. Then, observe the expanse of the fragrant and beautiful jasmine garden.
" Are you scared?" as if realizing Belva's unrest, Sagara asked.
Belva screamed inwardly, saying if she was so scared. Intention to die, Belva instead stuck with a kind of dedemit in the middle of nowhere. Wait, is this cenderawasih island a world of dedemits?
" You don't have to think things out" Sagara commented again. As if I could read Belva's mind, "I wouldn't hurt you."
Suddenly Belva's feelings warmed. He turned his head towards Sagara who carved a thin smile. So thin. It looks mysterious and fascinating. Really, that smile can make Belva's chest pounding. But, Belva soon regained consciousness. He threw away his face realizing his feelings were not right.
" Warm weather like this, you feel like walking slowly?"
Belva is back. It was as if Sagara's question drew him to a world where he was walking under the scorching sun and the heat was piercing the skin. Belva accelerated his pace, half running to see a minimalist building whose front yard already looks neater and cleaner than last night.
Belva went up the stairs, and entered the stilt house. Lying your body in front of the closet. So tired. But, suddenly he felt a very cool air penetrating the pores of his hot skin. Belva realizes that Sagara is next to her. Lose your body too. The man did not look tired or hungry, even though he had not eaten or worked since yesterday.
Belva shifts her body away from Sagara. Sagara who is aware of it also shifts his body to be closer to Belva. Once Belva and Sagara do so until Belva can no longer shift because it has stuck with the closet.
" You don't need to be afraid of me" Sagara's voice broke the silence, "it's not better if you're comfortable near me?"
Belva turned her head, along with Sagara who also turned to her. Belva did not understand why even in this state of fear, he still felt comfortable being near Sagara.
" Can you read my mind?" Belva is still curious, the ability of what is owned by this cool creature next to him besides not eating, never tired, can take a coconut just by shaking its trunk and opening a coconut without tools.
" It should. But, I don't understand why your mind can't be penetrated at any time."
Belva is even more horrified, as well as proud of himself because Sagara is unable to access his entire mind.
" Maybe you have a grip" Sagara continued, tilting his body towards Belva.
Suddenly Belva's cheeks meet red. Realize that Sagara is looking at him unusually. He turned his gaze to the ceiling of the room, embarrassed to be stared that close by Sagara.
" Pe...grip what do you mean?"
" I don't know. I can't feel anything. But..." Sagara stopped his speech, undoing the intention to say the next thing.
" But what?"
" The impenetrable man always makes me curious."
Belva gulps. His chest was pounding no more. Really, this kind of feeling Belva had never felt before. It feels more than just being in love.
Sagara nodded, "yes."
Belva. Although his feelings are not good, Belva is very curious about what kind of man Sagara can not penetrate his mind. Belva tilts her body, facing Sagara. Now they face each other.
Belva surprised. Just this time he saw Sagara's face as detailed as this. That face, he never imagined his good looks. Sagara's eyes are deep blue, and when Belva looks there, it's like he's looking at a quiet expanse of ocean. There are fish and sea plants in it. Then Belva saw himself there. At depths that are not known how deep. Dark, empty, alone, empty. Then Belva saw a figure that looked like Sagara, but did not have legs. Half fish. The man was able to swim quickly in the depths of the deep sea and grabbed Belva's wrist.
Belva held her head which was suddenly dizzy. He blinked many times, feeling that something was wrong with his brain.
Belva believes he just saw himself in Sagara's eyes. Like a movie in the cinema. Very clearly, even Belva could feel her cold and helpless self inside there.
" What do you see?" sagara's voice is very bright.
Belva shook her head, "nothing."
Sagara did not answer again. Still watching Belva. Belva responds to Sagara's views. He still could not believe what he had just seen in Sagara's eyes. And, Belva wants to try it again. If Sagara's eyes are the ocean, Belva is sure to find something that no human has ever found in the world. But, for this time, Belva found nothing, other than her pitiful reflection.
" Sagara, what kind of man can you not see through his mind?" ask Belva at last.
" A clean hearted man who never offends parents and animals."
Hearing Sagara offend parents, Belva became sad. Her mother and father are gone. How are they doing in the afterlife? Belva's eyes glazed over, feeling guilty because on the day of her Papa's death, Belva chose suicide.
He knew Sagara must be wrong. Belva had already hurt his father on the day of his death. As a good boy, Belva should help take care of his Papa's funeral, not even despair and throw himself into the ocean.
Belva was surprised, feeling something touch her eyes. It's darkening the water coming out of there. Sagara's thumb swung at the end of Belva's eye.
" My heart is dirty, Sagara. I don't deserve to kill myself when my Papa's body needs help."
" That's why I can still pierce your mind, once in a while."
" So, can you still read my mind?"
" Rather, your feelings," Sagara's index finger pointed at Belva's chest.
Be dead. If it's true Sagara can do just that. Belva rubbed the edges of her eyes violently. It reverses the body. Don't you think Sagara knows Belva likes him? Holy hooch! No way!
" Nothing is impossible. In fact, I do know."
Belva bit her lower lip. If thoughts can be manipulated, but feelings, who can lie? Jeez, why did Belva get to meet a magical creature like Sagara anyway? really, knowing Sagara's identity is not a good start for Belva.
