"Don't say that again, Mah. Mom has to hold on for Marissa. If necessary we seek treatment abroad so that Mamah can recover completely!" lirih Marissa with teary eyes looked at Melinda's pale face.
Melinda downcast. Her heart ached when she heard Marissa's words. Melinda took a deep breath and then exhaled while lifting her ship again.
"Marissa dear, if later Mama is called by Him, Marissa must be strong huh! I'm sure you can!" melinda said in a stammering voice.
Marissa was no longer able to stem her tears and finally broke her tngis right then and there. Melinda, too, hugged Marissa's body tightly. "Dear mom, Marissa!" said Melinda.
. . .
The next day, the,
Marissa wanted to go to her boutique, but she hesitated to leave Melinda at that time. Melinda's face was very pale even more than her usual day.
"Ma, is it really okay if Marissa lives alone?" marissa asked Melinda who was still squatting on the bed while leaning her thin body on the back of her bed.
Melinda smiled then stroked Marissa's cheeks gently. "You're leaving, don't worry about Mama. Mama is fine, really. Besides, there will still be Bi Ani who takes care of Mama," said Melinda.
Marissa exhaled heavily then nodded her head. "Alright, Marissa's leaving first." Marissa kissed the top of Melinda's head and then rushed off to her simple boutique on her favorite motorcycle.
Because of Melinda's expensive medical expenses, Melinda's precious possessions slowly run out. While the income they expected only came from the boutique which is now managed by Marissa.
"Here come .." said Melinda, patting the edge of her bed.
Ani, a Babysitter who willingly devotes herself to Melinda's small family. He walked over to Melinda and sat on the edge of her master's bed.
"Yes, Mom." Ani looked at Melinda's paled face with a sad look. He also knows how Melinda is currently, fighting hard against cancer of the womb he suffered.
"Here, do you keep the latest EL number?" ask Melinda.
Ani nodded her head slowly then took out her phone from inside the pocket of the skirt she was wearing.
"Here, there's something I want to talk to him about." Melinda grabbed the phone in Ani's hand then looked for her ex-husband's mobile number.
Actually until now Melinda's ex-husband always contact Ani to find out the news of Melinda and her son. However, Melinda only allowed Ani to tell them the news without giving her any other information that the EL had requested.
Melinda tried to call her ex-husband's number and was immediately received by the man.
"Yes, Ani. What's up?" ask the man.
"It's me Melinda."
"Melinda?! Um, what's wrong Melinda?" asked the enthusiastic EL after knowing who was talking to him.
Melinda sobbed as she recalled her past with her Husband. EL is a good guy even though he had an affair with Bella at the time.
"No, Melinda! Nah! I should be the one to apologize to you, not the other way around. You're never wrong, but I'm wrong!" el from across the phone.
Melinda's eyes were back in tears, she exhaled heavily and then refocused on the phone. "EL, if I come back to Him later, I hope you can take your time to visit Marissa. That girl has no one but me. She still needed someone to guide her, EL," Melinda softly blushed in a stammering voice.
"Why are you talking like that, Melinda?! You can't talk like that, it's not good!"
"EL, promise me that you'll see Marissa when I'm gone,"
"All right, I promise," said EL.
"I just want to say that, EL. Thank you for your time."
Melinda broke off her call while exhaling a sigh of relief.
"Hopefully EL can take good care of Marissa. I have no other choice, Ani. Only EL is my only hope" said Melinda as she handed back the phone to Ani.
Ani immediately grabbed her phone back while smiling wryly. "Mom should have stayed up. Don't despair like this" said Ani.
"But my illness is getting worse, Ani. The doctor gave up and raised his hand. Right now I just have to count every second of my life, before the angel of death actually picks me up" Melinda said as she shed her tears.
Ani immediately hugged Melinda's body and her crying broke. To her Melinda was already like her own sister and Melinda's little family was her family as well.
"Mom, don't say that! Spirit is, Mom," said Ani interrupted his sobs.
Afternoon Approaching,
Marissa is getting ready to return to her home on the motorcycle she bought after earning money from selling her car for Melinda's medical expenses. Marissa looks pretty cool because today her boutique is selling well.
On arrival in his front yard, he rushed in and the first person he wanted to meet was his mother.
"Well, where's Mom?" marissa shouted while searching for the whereabouts of the Mother.
"Non, Mama Miss Marissa is in her room," Ani sneered.
Marissa frowned when she saw Ani's expression at that moment. Marissa immediately ran towards Melinda's room.
"Mama?!"
