Justright. Kent stared at Jess's small back that just passed by leaving her. This pain feels like rejection.
Kent was never rejected by women. Women are willing to do anything to be with him. Including Melisa. But it seems, the charm of Kent is less patent to ensnare a Jess Amartha who does not much behavior and words.
It was proven that the woman was so immune to all her gentle manners. Though Kent felt he had done it with a sincere and inadvertent attitude.
Before long the sound of crying screams sounded echoing, although faint-faced. The distance from Jess's room is quite a distance to the family room
He believes Eli must have been looking for him when he woke up this morning, and found him nowhere.
Last night Kent accidentally came out of Eli's room. Because when he woke up because of the thirst that hit his throat, Kent saw one other occupant fall asleep while hugging him from the right side. Kent never thought how Melisa got in there while the door was locked from the inside.
He begins to suspect there is a conspiracy between his daughter and Melisa. Given that Melisa is not a descendant of demons, who can penetrate the door without being opened first.
That's why he's targeting Jess' room. It just so happened that the room was only in a lock using a small wooden crossbar from the inside. Kent hasn't had time to get people to fix it. And he's grateful for it. Fortunately, his mind gave thanks as much as possible to the rogue contractor who was not good at doing the entire building perfectly.
Kent manages to break into Jess's bedroom door and sleeps there. Jostling on a small bed turned out to bring him blessings. He could get close to his wife and even hold her for the rest of the night.
Kent could have slept in another room in the mother house, only his mind was focused on the wife who must have been uncomfortable sleeping in the slums and cramped. In fact, Jess is fast asleep with a trail of tears in the corner of her eye. Kent knew that was because of it. The guilt again broke his heart.
Before falling asleep, Kent was content to look at the creation of God before him. Natural beautiful face without the slightest polish thick makeup, as done by Melisa every day.
Returning to this moment, Kent came out with lazy steps leading into the house through the kitchen. Eli was crying in his mother's arms. Kent tried to be patient about this uncomfortable condition until Jess was no longer there.
"Kent's? Where have you been? Did you know Eli cried all morning when he woke up not getting you in bed. You made a bad impression on her. It's Eli's first time here and you messed up his first morning." Sarcas Melisa scoffed at Kent with an angry expression.
His face was visibly emotional and disappointed, over Kent's childish demeanor.
"You're prolonging Melisa's problem. Come here, baby, forgive me. Papa just finished exercising in the back garden. Already, stop crying. Papa's here now." Kent takes Eli from Melisa's sling with some coercion.
Melisa stared in full gaze at Kent, from top to bottom. Doesn't look like Kent's a workout guy. Her clothes were still the nightgowns she had worn last night. Melisa is a little suspicious, Kent just spent dawn with his second wife.
He remembers sneaking into Eli's room at 12 midnight. With the help of Eli who opens the door from the inside, Melisa manages to get in. Kent must have woken up at dawn when he fell asleep.
"Say you're not making out with that cheap maid, are you Kent?!" Melisa asked full of questions. His face was red because his thinking mind was dirty.
Kent stared giddily at Melisa with his jaw tightening perfectly.
Melisa glared perfectly hearing the sentence pitched the accusation.
"So, you talk Kent! It's only natural that Eli is so spoiled. You're his father, it's your duty to spoil him. Where do I find my fault in educating him? you don't even want to know about his growth all along. You think your money could replace the time you couldn't give Eli? No Kent! We need you, Eli needs his father and you've been ignoring your responsibilities lately. Because what? Because of that ja lang woman!" Shouted Melisa out of control.
Kent covered both ears of the child with one hand, the side next to which Kent was attached to the chest of his field.
Kent smiled cynically. Melisa is always explosive as usual if their discussion has begun heavy. Women with unstable emotions despite their age are quite mature.
"Didn't you enjoy my attention, Melisa? I see so many collections of luxury goods at fantastic prices that you buy even though it is not very important. Have I ever protested? No don't you? You spent the ration that was supposed to be Eli's, I just kept quiet. That's because I realized I couldn't give all my time to you. But if you demand more. Remember your position, Melisa. I'm not a plain guy like 6 years ago. I'm not as patient as I used to be, if you're over-organizing and demanding my life. Prepare to be a bum on the streets." Kent said calmly. The gaze of the eagle's eyes that always Melisa puja looks so scary to look at.
Melisa sculpted, hearing the sentence. Kent is completely out of his control now. He has to start playing beautifully now, if not to lose his source of luxury.
"I'm sorry Kent. I just want to be seen as your wife too. Isn't it true that the woman took you from me? You've started to change since his presence. Is it wrong of me to claim my rights as your first wife? I'm tired of hiding, Kent. Eli needs your family's confession. The older Eli gets, the more he realizes he's unwanted, and it'll hurt his heart later. I don't want my daughter's heart to hurt Kent, never will." Melisa's words begin to soften, although spiked with a sentence that corners Jess.
The drama happened again. A little beatitude like a mistreated wife looks so sad.
Kent ignored the full drama.
Carrying Eli's little body upstairs. Facing Melisa was enough to ignore her. Because if by serving it, it will only make the woman continue to chat non-stop. Like a bird locked in a cage. Full of suffering but secretly piled gold under his nest.
Without them knowing, if Jess had accidentally eavesdropped on the conversation. The woman smiled smirkingly. Seeing how the couple debated each other's arguments, in the presence of the innocent boy.
Not wanting to be involved in the toxic condition, Jess chose to continue the step without caring about the existence of Melisa in the family room.
Seeing how Jess just passed her by, made Melisa's emotions even more ignited because she felt unappreciated as the first wife.
"No wonder you don't have manners. You're even a kid your parents never wanted. At the orphanage you must not get much attention and proper upbringing. Given the number of children there that certainly amounted to quite a lot." Jess stopped her steps.
Melisa's words tore her heart apart. With a single breath, Jess tried not to be provoked by the woman's dime. Jess turned around gracefully, smiling knots without showing any emotion. There was no anger on his face. Only a slanted smile seemed to mock.
"You're right. The number of children in the home is quite a lot. That's why the place is called an orphanage. Children's shelters that parents don't want. But it's wrong for you to assume that we don't get enough attention and ethical upbringing. In fact, we got more than what we needed. In addition to ethics, we are educated with a good knowledge of morality and divinity. You have to visit at any time, you will be astonished to see how we welcome guests in the right way, friendly and most importantly." Jess paused her sentence, looking at Melisa with a mysterious smile.
"We are not taught to enter another's residence by force without shaming." Jess ends a brief spiritual session of showering to refresh the memory of shameless women like Melisa.
