ONE LOVE, TWO CONTINENTS

ONE LOVE, TWO CONTINENTS

On the sidelines of the conversation appeared a young woman, so wacky her curves, in her hands a tray of drinks and a little small food she accidentally brought to Syahrel and Mas Hardi.

“Please tasting!" Bargain the girl.

“Include this youngest daughter sayo, namanye Indah Safitri.”

Syahrel reached out his hand, “I Hardi," Mas Hardi interrupted Syahrel's hand.

“Indah”, so soft his fingers.

“Syahrel.”

“I live first yah”, said the girl with a fly on the temples of her eyes.

Syahrel recalled the girl who had left a trace of the story in her life.

“What are you doing now?”Ask Syahrel in heart. Dita's face is back.

“Indah my eldest son, a final semester student at the state department faculty in Jakarta. Get a vacation here. How, shall we continue the conversation?  Where was it?”

“Hmm..Oh yes sir. Sorry, where was it?” Ask sahrel back.

“I remember. Residency Jambi 9 January 1959.” Hardi tried to remind him.

“There is no influence of youth movement and other organizations in the formation of Jambi?”

“Loh has wong told me in the beginning!” His eyes were so strong.

“Various determination after the establishment of the Youth Congress in Jambi area occurred by sending three delegates, namely Rd. Abdullah, AT Hanafiah and H. Said and an advisor to the delegation, Mr. Syamsu Bahrun, faced the Minister who was then led by Prof.DR.MR Hazairin" added Mr. Dulamien.

“More when does Jambi completely?”

“Pade in 1958 based on Law No. 61 of 1958 dated June 25, 1958," so understand Pak Dulamien genealogy history formed Jambi. It is natural that he is called an elder here, because he is a perpetrator and a witness of history.

“Bapak still remember the name of the Resident and Governor of Jambi starting from the colonial period until now?”

“Hopefully remember. Colonial Residence Netherlands O.L. Helfrich, A. J. N. Engelemberg, A. L. Heidings, AL. Camerling, H.E.C. H.L.C Petri, C. Poortman, G.J. Van Dongen, H.E.K Ezerman, J.R.F Verschoor Van

Niesse, W. Chubby, Ph.J. Van der Meulen, M. J. Ruyschaver, Reuvers. And the Independence committee of Jambi Residency led by Dr. Segaf Yahya, R. Inu Kertapati, Bachsan, Hoesin Puang Limbaro, R. Sudono, Djamin Datuk Bagindo," so eloquently he mentioned the name of the Dutch figure, although some of his teeth have been dated.

Mas Hardi was not wrong to bring me to meet people like Mr. Dulamien, the surrounding residents called him as the bearer of the historical Chapter of Wong Kito with the title Datuk Dai Sepang. He is very appreciated in this city, even the local government gives him alimony money and old age insurance.

“The language used in Jambi is anything Datuk?”Syahrel called him Grandfather.

“In Jambi there is one regional language, namely Malay, with local dialect macem Kerinci dialect, Bungo or Tebo dialect, Sarolangun, Bangko, and others, East Malay nak covers Tanjung Jabung Barat and Tanjung Jabung Timur, Batanghari, Jambi Seberang, or pule dialects of Anak Dalam and Mixed. Especially for the Kerinci community, they already have their own acre which is quite known as Aksare Encong which can be found and used by a group of people in sane.”

“Cough so good at understanding the history of his own Nation," Syahrel was amazed and amazed by Mr. Dulamien.

“Message Datuk. As great as you wander do not lupe with your cage.”That is, wherever we do not forget the culture and history of the country itself. Datuk Dulamien gave the message as the conclusion of the interview.

Actually there are still many who want Syahrel to know but time is what limits this encounter.Sok he must return to Jakarta.

“Now it's time we search the pictures and culture of the locals.”

“Beres Mas," reply Hardi.

“Today is our encounter, tomorrow I have to return to Jakarta.”

“Wah, in Jakarta it's good yes Mas.”

“Who said Mas?” Syahrel cut off the conversation.

“Not there Country economic center?”

“Mas Hardi, that's delicious people said. Not necessarily for those who run it.”

“Betul..that's exactly Mas." Hardi's eyes kept watching the road.

“By the way Mas Syahrel is married?”Hardi threw a pretty trap question while making Syahrel think a little.

Syahrel. “Mas, my question is not answered?”

“Anu Mas Hardi..No one wants to and again there must also be careful preparation to step into that level.”

“Aduh Mas Syahrel, dear spending youth alone.”

“There is one thing I have to accomplish Mas.”

“Career? A treasure? Mas, there's no history of the rich bujang. Even if it's there's the most parental legacy.”

Syahrel was slightly pensive and thought about Mas Hardi's words. There is a truth and not either.

“I still have one parent I should be happy with.”

“Mas, what must by not marrying our parents can be happy or if we are married we can not make parents happy?” Ask Mas Hardi.

“Not the ridho of God is in the ridho of our mothers and fathers?” Sela Syahrel's.

“Betul. But keep in mind also, getting married is the sunna of the Prophet.”

“By the way Mas Hardi already has a child how much?”

“.................., "now the opposite, Hardi fell silent.

“Two, three or four?” Syahrel threw back the question for him.

“Mmm..Anu Mas, actually had wanted to get married but failed in the middle of the road.”

“So Mas Hardi is also not married? It's the same with me. Huuu...I think I already have a child!”

“Four wanted to get married but failed Mas. My future wife returned to her ex's arms, "Mas Hardi's face was slightly pensive.

“It's okay.”

“I pray that Mas find a good and loyal girl.”

“Amin...Thanks to Syahrel for his prayer.”

“Mas Hardi know the meaning of Jambi province coat of arms?”

The emergence of the question was because Syahrel saw a large logo on a monument at the crossroads.

“Spartly I know, like the base of the square five symbolizes the spirit of the people of Jambi will philosophy of the nation that is Pancasila. Six holes of the mosque and one keris and the foundation of the mosque are two stacks of stones above five and below seven, symbolizes the establishment of the Jambi area as an autonomous region that has the right to regulate its own household on January 6, 1957. A mosque symbolizes the belief and obedience of the people of Jambi in religion.”

“If the keris is in the emblem, there is no name Mas?”

“Oh...If that one is called Keris Siginjai, symbolizes the heroism of the people of Jambi.”

“Wah, Mas Hardi turned out to be secretly smart too huh?”

“Ah Mas Syahrel could. Doesn't mean Mas praises me for continuing to rent my car for free right? Not so, is it Mas?”

“Ya is not.. Rent a car plus a driver there are calculations kok.”

“I'm just kidding Mas.”

“I'm also kidding," tepis Syahrel.

“Besok me between Mas what time?”

“Jam ten I need to be ready at Mas.” airport

“Beres boss.”

“Don't be so Mas Hardi. Bas, bes, boss! I'm just an employee.”

“Beres wan.”

“Means?”

“Beres employee.”

“Hah,"Syahrel sighed from the nose.

Only a few images are taken as a complement to the coverage, but there are some references that Syahrel should look for as a complement to the draft coverage, namely Jambi culture.

“Mas Hardi, if we want to witness the culture or customs of Jambi where should we visit?”

“Tenang Mas, I have a place that still has a variety of Jambi culture. Anyway Mas Syahrel just sit sweet.”

“Previous thank you Mas.”

“Sama-sama.”

                                                                                e Ooo 'c

They arrived in an unnamed village, far from the city center. There is a feast of the celebration of the earth. Jambi is a province that can be said to be multi-ethnic. Most are ethnic Malays and the rest are various tribes and ethnicities from all over Indonesia. The dominant ethnic groups are Minang, Bugis, Javanese, Sundanese, Batak, Chinese, Arabic and Indian.

In this province Malay customs are very dominant. It is this custom that regulates all activities and behaviors of citizens who are based on Sharia law. Falsafah comes together as a guideline for people who embrace Islam. The value of philosophy is known as “Adat singal sara, sara’s kabulullah” or “Sara tattooed the custom of using” is very popular there. Islamic law enforcement has a lot of coloring in the Jambi community.

As with other sunni followers, in their daily lives many teachings and Islamic influences are applied, including traditions of death, yasinan, and various ceremonies carried out following the cycle and circulation of human life.

“Presidents of Jambi grow crops on average, so that the culture and traditions carried out by the local community follow their habitual patterns such as custom ‘ simultaneously down to umo’. In cultivating rice fields according to the season with reference to climate rotation, this is called ‘piamo’. In terms of crop safety so as not to be damaged by livestock, there is a customary saying ‘umobekandang noon, kerbo bekandang malam’ which means if livestock disrupt plants during the day, the, then the responsibility remains to the owner of the rice field or garden. Conversely, if livestock enter the fields or gardens at night, the responsibility remains on the shoulders of the livestock owner," explained Haji Dai Datuak Abdullah as a leader of this unnamed village community.

“Sorry Wan Haji, if you may know what the name of his village is?”, Syahrel is a little curious.

The people call it Sepalang village. But that's not his real name either, "there's something strange or maybe it's the way it is. In this village is very sparsely populated, the distance of one house to another reaches a hundred meters, then we will find another house. The atmosphere of this place felt once its spiritual aura.

“Here there is another ritual such as Kenduri Seko which is a ritual that aims to clean heirlooms in the form of keris, spears and books in the form of Ancient Ranji. Maybe that is all I can tell you”, explained the customary figure.

“Thank you Wan Haji. Assalamu’alaikum.”

“Sama-sama. Wa’alaikum greetings.” They left the house whose building was completely made of bamboo and cubicles.

“Quite until here only my coverage Mas. Thank you for the help Mas Hardi.”

“It has become my duty Mas.”
