ONE LOVE, TWO CONTINENTS

ONE LOVE, TWO CONTINENTS
CLBK: Old Love Hasn't Been Long

If this is good for the servant, let it be, O Lord. If it is not good for the servant, then keep the servant away from him now so that the servant does not hope, even though it denies the feelings of the servant.

Shahrel was so hopeful in his prayer. Everything is told to God, what will be written in his life story. Fear of what he feels can keep him away from God and love for Mother.

But his heart could not be denied to the girl who made him curious and finally harbored love like a normal adult man felt.

Twenty minutes had passed from ten o'clock, Dita arrived late at the campus. His pace was hasty, a number of guidebooks were tightly flanked in hand.

Last night for him to do his college assignments because today is the deadline for the collection of the task.  Sub-chapters that must be translated into two languages, English and Indonesian, index and introduction and table of contents that must be completed one night.

Not to mention the analysis of the leaders of these disciplines that must be included in the task. Anyway, today was a tiring day for Dita.

Various human characters from all corners of the world spilled on this campus. Dominating them are Indo-European and American citizens, it allows them to settle for a long time because some of them are children of foreign ambassadors or workers for their countries.

So automatically their children attend school in which the introduction is English with an international curriculum. Maybe for them to speak using English is not difficult, but for Indonesian children is a difficult language in practice.

But not one obstacle for Dita to use the language. In addition, there are still several languages that must be mastered such as German and French.

Three years is enough to make Dita blend with the diversity of these cultures and not a few of those who understand the culture of Indonesia even understand the traditional values of this nation.

For Dita, introducing Indonesia in the eyes of the world is something to be proud of. For example, Meredith Jhonson, an English student who is good at dancing pendet, and Ethan Gandel, an Australian engineering student who is good at playing angklung and many more that we can meet.

In their eyes Indonesia is a pluralistic country full of values and norms, not to mention their experience of first setting foot into Indonesia, they are greeted with a smile, she said, the courtesy and courtesy that made them wonder how much they were valued in this country. It is strange with our own nation that ignores our own cultural values, this is what Dita thought.

Maybe for them what we have is a foreign thing. Vice versa, Indonesian teenagers deify Michael Jackson and exile Gesang the Bengawan Solo. Or Indonesian children prefer Spiderman than Gatot Glass.

Ever in a cultural seminar at Chancellor University with local literary speakers W.S. Rendra and Taufik Ismail with the theme From Kerawang to Padang (From Kerawang to Padang) by reviewing Khairil Anwar and Buya HAMKA, hajaran applause came from foreign students about Indonesian literature, on the contrary, this nation does not want to learn its own literature. Praise God for Dita, being an indigenous who can be useful for the nation and its culture.

Arriving in front of the class, apparently Dita was left behind one-third of the course hours. Fortunately the lecturer allowed him to follow the next course.

“Good morning Sir, sorry I’m late," with a nervous face Dita tried to smile.

Dita's eyes search for the rest of the empty seats, her gaze stalled on the figure of the German man, Valdis Moller, the man who fell for her in the first semester. Because of his name in the diary Dita papa became furious.

Apparently he had to meet again with the man who had the greeting Val, a class anyway. Even more nervous, he had to sit right behind Val. As Dita approached the chair, the blue eyes of the fifteen-year-old man in Indonesia looked at Dita with a cold gaze.

“Oh my God, why do I have to see him again?” mumbling Dita in the heart.

The rest of the lecture must be passed by Dita with an uncomfortable heart, sixty minutes felt so long. Surprisingly, Val suddenly started talking.

“Eh, meet again with you," said Val in fluent Indonesian. Dita glanced, forced to give a smile.

“How are you doing Dit?”

“Ba, Fine Val.”

Dita's concentration is not good. If there is another empty bench, Dita may choose to move to another place. Until the time that faltered arrived, a bit of fresh air he breathed after sixty tense minutes.

Dita tried to avoid his feelings, drown the story that was written, he could not deny that there were feelings that were still left with Valdis. However he had once stopped in his heart, it took him some time to forget.

For likeness? Valdis Moller is the target of the female student, whose heart does not melt to see the Indo man, what else Dita who has been close to him, he is a romantic man, he is a romantic man, it's just his attitude to the opposite sex that finally makes women around him put hope.

Who does not resist jealousy, if you have a partner whose life is surrounded by women. That's the reason Dita chose to leave him because it is not strong every day just quarrels because of trivial things and jealousy.

Valdis was good at getting the attention of Mamah and Papah, he was the only person who could melt Papah's heart, that was before Papah knew with his behavior, and considered he had played tricks on his son's feelings.

Let it be the past and there may be another heart to erase the memory.
