Flores could only look at Philip from afar. This was his first time seeing Philip in such a state of chaos.
“Philip.” Flores called out to him softly. “You can rest. We talk about this issue after we are both calm.”
Flores was angry and disappointed, but Philip was her husband. Philip gives a lot of love to Flores, defeating the affection that Flores receives from his own parents.
With Philip, Flores felt many new things. Philip has made his life more colorful.
“Why did you do that, Honey?” Philip finally made a sound.
Ever since the trip back home, Philip had only been silent. In the car, the silence felt so gripping. They avoid eye sight and interaction with each other.
Philip's looking.
“What do I do?” ask Flores. He looked back at Philip. “I didn't do anything.”
“That's what I meant, Honey.” Philip. Near him the wife. “Why did you do that?”
Flores frowned.
“Why don't you defend me?” philip asked, clarifying his words.
Flores shook his head. “You think, why do I ask mommy to let us go back home, huh?”
“I did that to defend you!” Flores let go of his anger. “I don't want to see you being trampled on by Rares and Jake! I can't stand it!”
“Why did you do that?” Philip continued to ask the same question, leaving Flores again confused.
Flores rubbed his face in frustration. “Should I how?” ask Flores with resignation. “You want me how, Philip?”
“Say 'no' to your family.” Philip. “You know me better than anyone.”
Philip finished his sentence. “You know I never cheated, or even touched another woman, right?”
Flores. He could only look at Philip with sadness. His anger has robbed him of his sanity, repeatedly he tried to be firm, in fact the situation made Flores depressed.
“You don't believe me, Honey?” Philip whirring. He grabbed Flores' hand and grabbed it. “You really don't believe me?”
Flores threw away his face. She let go of Philip's hand and turned, turning back to her husband.
“Flo?” Philip called out with a trembling saura. “You really doubt myself?”
“How not!” Flores' anger exploded. “How can I keep believing if all the evidence points to you?”
Flores looked at Philip again. “That hotel, that woman, all that photo evidence, and ... Jeniffer even confirmed that you came to the hotel knowingly, without coercion from anyone.”
Philip's heart was wounded.
“Tell me, if you were me ..” Flores approached Philip.
Philip's chest field became the boxing media for Flores' annoyance this time. “Are you going to just trust me?”
Philip shed his tears without him noticing. The most painful thing for him was Flores' decision to doubt Philip's honesty.
“I'll still trust you.” Philip answered softly. “You never cheated.”
Flores's hands drooped, falling beside his body after banging Philip's chest with emotion.
“Do not lie,” said Flores urged. He was also hurt to see Philip shed his tears. “You're just trying to make me feel guilty.”
Philip did not reply, he suddenly turned away from Flores. The disappointment did not come from his inability to make the Flores family believe him. However, it is about Flores who continues to view him as a suspect.
“Philip?” Flores tried to stop Philip's footsteps.
“Philip!” Flores' voice was more resolute. “Stop at your place!”
Philip ignored Flores. A pair of Philip's legs went to his doorstep, about to leave the house.
“Philip!” Flores is after Philip. “Wait a minute!”
Flores managed to grab Philip's hand, making her husband look at her again.
“Flores, you know what hurt me the most today?” philip asked, wiping his tears.
“Not how your mother or your family trampled my pride and physically injured me,”. He let go of Flores's grasp.
He looked at Flores carefully. Then Philip said again. “Because you don't trust me.”
“Philip ...”
“I don't care if the whole world labels me as a cheat, a parasite, a selfless man, or whatever!” Philip shouted furiously. “However, don't you do the same, Flo.”
Flores closed his eyes. He looked down, I don't know, Flores had no power to do anything but surrender.
“Honest to me, Flo.” Philip interrupted again.
Flores looked up at the eyes, his height only limited to the chest of Philip's field.
“You started to doubt me because of Marc?” ask Philip.
Flores was silent for a moment, like he was thinking about something. It was not the fault of Philip thinking so, Flores who was fishing for a strange atmosphere between the two of them right now.
Flores shook his head. “Why should Marc?” tanyakanya.
“Today you've always believed in me, Flores.” Philip chimed. “You never looked at me as a suspect.”
Flores finally relented. “I'm sorry, Philip. I just ...”
“Why suddenly doubt our marriage?” Philip won't budge. The wound in his heart was so deep, it felt all over his body.
“Is it because Marc came back to you when you needed reinforcements to protect your career?”
Flores frowned. “Why are you talking like that?”
“I only asked.” Philip smiled wryly. “My guess is right?”
“I don't defend you in front of my parents because I want you to do it yourself.” Flores finally acknowledged his way of thinking. “I'm tired they consider you weak and useless, Philip!”
“Why didn't you fight them earlier?” Flores shook Philip's body. “Why not punch Jake or Rares back and say if you never cheated on me, huh?”
Flores was crying.
“Why, Philip, why?” Flores was crying while screaming.
“Because I promised you!” Philip shouted.
Flores looked at him in surprise. She was silent when her husband snapped again.
“I've promised not to use force to finish my masalaku.” Philip shakes his voice. He's down. “I'm just trying to keep my promise, Flores.”
Flores. He's resting on Philip's side. His eyes turned blank, but his mind remained boisterous.
“I've kept my promise, Flo.” Philip ended the discussion.
Flores looked up again. Her tears had blurred the line of sight between her and Philip.
“Lantas why don't you keep your promise to keep trusting myself?” ask Philip then. “Has your love for me faded because of Marc's arrival?”
Flores was crying. He has admitted wrong. His mind is immature. The fear of losing Philip had left her mind stained with thousands of doubts on her own husband.
Philip moved from his place. Before he actually left in front of Flores, the man turned his head back and looked at Flores's sad face.
“I never cheated.” Philip claimed his honesty again. “I came to that place because of a message sent to me.”
Flores.
“Say they found my mother and I came to find out,”. “Stupidly I thought I could surprise you by bringing my mom back.”
Flores continued to listen to her husband's words with tears in her eyes.
“Next scenario .. You can ask your mother, Flores. He knows better what happened,” concluded Philip. “I said honestly, I never lied to you.”
