"Why keep standing by the window?" ask Kiandra's father in wonder.
His wife, who had been watching Dave and Kiandra sitting in a gazebo by the lake from a second-floor window, turned to look at him.
"I'm afraid they're fighting again" she replied gloomily, then slowly walked over and sat down next to her husband.
"As long as I'm home, they won't dare to be troublemakers." He said, turning the page of the newspaper that was being read.
"Are you threatening Kian?" accuse the wife suddenly.
"Where might I do such a thing to your beloved son." A little annoyed, the narrow-eyed man replied. He is always jealous, if the wife cares more about other men, even if it is their own child.
"Don't like to threaten Kian." his wife warned.
He lowered the newspaper, then folded and put it on the table.
"I told you no." he looked at his wife who was no longer young. But strangely, it made her love even more.
"I'm surprised Kian wants to see Dave, he usually leaves as soon as I tell him to."
"That's because you spoiled her too much."
"I've never spoiled my children. I only love them." denied the wife, who was even as old. However, it had black hair without gray hair, and it contrasted with him whose entire hair had turned white.
"Yes, yes, yaa.." lazily he confirmed.
However, the way of speech and expression shown, making the woman's lips pursed.
"Why are you always so disdainful, right like this?"
"Underestimated what? you're right, I was wrong. Women are always right, right?" her husband pretended to be innocent.
The wife sighed, knowing that her husband was insinuating.
"It's not. But, women's and men's thinking is different." she tried to explain.
"What's the difference, my dear?" Her husband shifted his seat and was now staring with interest.
Unfortunately the wife knew, her husband behaved like that not because he really wanted to listen and understand his thoughts. But just to make them stop arguing.
Realizing that, his wife took a deep breath.
I have to be more patient to face her older self even more funny.
he said in his heart.
"Why shut up? not a story?" ask the husband to get closer.
"Not so." answered his wife.
"Wrong again..." Her husband snorted, then dropped his back onto the sofa.
Secretly his wife laughed at the behavior of his partner who sometimes gentle, but one side can also be so absurd.
"We're going to Tawangmangu this week? I miss the twins so much." her tone was cheerful again.
The husband just glanced. This time, it was her turn to be angry.
"No, this week I have an appointment to play golf with a relationship" he said without seeing the interlocutor.
"Usually playing golf in the pending?" his wife put on a sad face.
Her husband is still cute.
"It turns out to be true people said.." he deliberately hung up his sentence.
The husband's eyebrows shot up, then looked at him.
"If the longer the age of marriage, then the relationship is getting colder and the sense of love will berku..."
"Who said that?" cut off her husband while holding her back.
"It's like that, isn't it?" he pretended to be clear, but inwardly laughed
"What's the truth?" her husband's tone grew higher. "Their fate is just unlucky, having to live with a couple br*gsek. But, not everything is like that. Let's take for example."
His wife could not stand the tickle anymore. He nodded while closing his mouth.
Her husband who had been making a stir immediately realized, if it had been in jahili.
"You're this.." He folds both hands with increasing forehead wrinkles.
"Oh my goodness.we are very old.but you have not changed at all.hahaha.." his wife said in the midst of laughter.
Husband surprised. "Darling?"
His wife of more than 70 years was grimacing with pain in the part of his heart that seemed to be in a squeeze.
"What's wrong? hey.." he's getting anxious.
The wife's breathing began to sound heavy, as if she had just run thousands of kilometers. He also felt his wife's palms being held sweating and trembling.
"Marisa's? what was? you why?" panic asked.
However, his wife could only lean on his shoulder while enduring the pain.
The man's face was now as pale as the wife's. His heart was beating so fast and the fear he had been craving for was slowly beginning to crawl.
"YESHINE...!! HOWDY...!!" call loud.
The state of the house was calm, making the man's shout echo throughout the room.
But before anyone came, slowly the pain subsided, making his wife's breath slowly start to sound normal.
"It's okay." she patted the arm of her husband who was holding her.
Two servants finally arrived.
"What's up, sir?" ask them almost simultaneously.
"There's nothing." The madam replied. "Take warm water." he ruled while wiping his sweaty forehead.
"Ba, well." in doubt, they obeyed, then asked for resignation.
The old couple themselves. Her husband was still holding the wife, while hiding his face.
For a few minutes, they were silent without anyone talking.
"Let's go." his wife's voice broke in silence. "Then look at other people." He continued. But, the husband even further tightened his cage.
"I'm fine." he poked up to see the face of the man who had accompanied him in almost half his life.
"You're gonna outlive me, right?" the bright brown eyes that had always bewitched him turned out to have made the river.
"You always ask that." his wife chuckled, even though her face was the same as her husband's. His wrinkled hands stretched out to wipe away the tears that almost dripped in the corner of his life partner's eyes.
"I can't live alone" He cupped his wife's hand, then kissed her palm and pressed it against her cheek.
The sweet habit of her husband that never disappeared until now, and every time the man did. She will feel like the most special woman.
"You're not alone. There's Kirana, Kian, Dave, our grandkids. Don't you want to see Kian get married?" his wife said softly.
The husband bowed while holding the hand of his wife who always felt petite in his clutches.
"They need you more than me. They can stand without me. Without me, they'd be fine. But I.." His voice weakened. He lifted his face and looked at the only woman who owned his heart. "I'll never be okay if you're ahead of me."
When she was young, because she met this man, she felt that she was the most miserable woman.
But now time proves that it is true what the wise say, grace comes after misfortune.
We just have to live and believe, the test will end and half of your life will be filled with happiness, if your values are perfect in the eyes of the Creator.
"Why crying?" The man with a Kiandra-like stature looked worried, because the wife just looked at him with tears.
"Andre.." his wife's smile widened.
"You haven't called my name in a long time." she looks happy, even though her face is still puffy.
"Thank you for making me the luckiest woman."
Like a young couple in a romantic hangover, they look at each other, and both look perfect in the eyes of each other.
"Andre, I love you." he who has aged, again declared love.
"You know, I love you more." without hesitation her husband replied.
They embrace each other while holding back tears, reminiscing about the colorful past, and the death that is now beginning to appear.
I'm grateful that you're in my life and I have no regrets...
She smiled and cried on the shoulders of her husband who remained firm and warm in his old age.
The best couples in the world are smiles and cries. They won't see each other at one time. But, if they meet, it is the most beautiful moment of your life.
Andre, I'm happy...
