Chapter 25. Companions

Today Sharron decided to stay in the apartment. It was at Darrell's request. However, it seems like this is just a mere promise because Darrell suddenly decided to return to his mansion.

"Sharron, I apologized to you earlier. Tonight I have to go home because Callie suddenly wants to be accompanied by a walk" said Darrell.

To be angry, obviously that's impossible. Sharron is only the second woman after Callie. As the second woman, of course Sharron could not hope for more. Especially always getting the main attention. Thats impossible. No matter how hard Sharron tried, he would still be second.

"Go! I'm just a mistress who can be visited whenever Daddy wants."

Darrell felt pain in his heart when he heard that. However, Darrell tried to remain calm to not be affected by the circumstances. Callie's more important tonight is for a special reason. The woman will take Darrell to meet someone he's been hiding all along. Therefore, because of his high curiosity, Darrell agreed to Callie's invitation.

"Baby, tomorrow I'll make time for both of us. Trust me, I'll make you happy. I have to go home tonight to the mansion. Okay?" Darrell.

Sharron decides to return to the apartment she lives in with Noelle. She'll feel more comfortable being there than in the apartment Darrell bought for her. The reason is very interesting. Sharron wouldn't have occupied this apartment if Darrell wasn't with her.

Sharron was getting selfish. He won't let himself be played again by Darrell. He had to be one step ahead of his sugar daddy.

"Aren't you staying at the apartment?"

"For what, Dad? I'm alone. Can I call Noelle to accompany me here?"

"No! This apartment is just me, you, and Alan to know. Others no! Did you forget that only Alan will be your Sugar Daddy? What if Noelle finds out that you live with Darrell, not with Alan. What are you going to explain to him? Do you want to open our relationship? After that, Callie immediately sniffed this relationship. That so?"

Sharron was lazy to argue. The one who should be angry is himself. This is the opposite, Darrell is very upset at Sharron for a proposal that would jeopardize their relationship.

Being upset, lazy to argue, and trying to be understood are natural things for Sharron and Darrell's relationship. Being a mistress is always second.

Callie's getting ready. Tonight is a special night to coincide with his sixth wedding anniversary. He asks Darrell to come home quickly just to celebrate his anniversary and meet someone special in Callie's life.

"Darling, you just came?" ask Callie.

"Yes, honey." Darrell kissed his wife.

"So prepare. I'll be waiting for you. We had dinner at Belen's restaurant. I've made a reservation in my name" explains Callie.

"alright. Wait 10 minutes."

Belen restaurant at eight o'clock in the evening has been waiting for him. Darrell drives a luxury sports car to get there. He did use his sports car only for sudden interests like this. This is his wife's favorite car.

Half an hour late is not an important issue for both. After getting out of the car, Darrell continues to treat Callie like a Queen in the real world and in her heart.

"Ready, Honey?" ask Callie. Yes, she'll surprise her husband. Several times it was too busy at the office so she forgot that today was her sixth wedding anniversary.

"Sure, Honey."

A candle light dinner concept is presented there. There is already a cake and a greeting attached to the wall that says Happy Sixth Wedding Anniversary.

"Wow, it's a surprise for me, honey," Darrell said. Callie seems to be more romantic than him.

"For us. Happy Sixth Wedding Anniversary, darling. I love you" said Callie.

"I love you too, Callie. Sorry, I forgot the present for today's event."

"No problem, honey. Your presence is more than enough. Oh yeah, we're not gonna have dinner alone. I've invited someone I want to introduce you to. Can I?"

It turned out that dinner this time was not just the two of them, but there was someone else. Darrell wanted to reject her because she felt uncomfortable. However, Callie forces her that this is not with anyone else, but Callie's best friend all along.

Darrell felt a bit awkward. During her marriage to Callie, it was the first time she knew about her best friend. The question is, since when does his wife have friends?

The door of the VVIP room was knocked, then a man came in carrying a bouquet of red roses. The man approached Callie and congratulated her.

"Congratulations, Call. Your marriage is amazing" said the man. "This is for you." The man handed Callie a bouquet of flowers.

The look of jealous eyes was clearly visible in Darrell's eyes. Callie who saw her husband already in jealous mode finally started introducing the man before her.

"Honey, don't be jealous like that, dong. This is my best friend, his name is Marcello Phoenix. He lived abroad for a long time. In fact, he often sends gifts to our mansion," he explained.

Marcello reached out her hand to meet her best friend's husband. However, it seems that her best friend's husband looks very stiff facing her.

Marcello put his hand back. "I'm sorry, maybe I came at the wrong time" said Marcello.

"No problem. I'm Darrell Wesley, Callie's husband. Please sit!" said Darrell. Although he looked a little upset, but considering that this man before him was a guest of his wife, Darrell could not throw him out.

"Thank you, Darrell."

It's time Darrell and Callie blew out the candles on the wedding cake. Before that, Callie asked Marcello to help capture this special moment. Of course as a friend, Marcello did not reject him.

After blowing out the candles then cutting the cake as a symbol of gratitude for what he had obtained so far, they went straight to the core of the event. They started enjoying dinner in silence. Just the clink of spoons, forks, and the occasional food knife.

"Have you known Callie?" ask Darrell on the sidelines to eat it.

"Yes, we've known her since Callie wasn't married to you, Darrell. I happened to be abroad when you got married. Instead, I always send gifts to the mansion."

Darrell surprised. During this time he did not know that his wife often received gifts from his best friend.

"Well, it's worth my wife's closet full of stuff. I think he was deliberately shopping for things like that. Turns out you sent it," Darrell replied awkwardly.

"Yes, Honey. You already know that? Sorry, I rarely tell you about the gift. I thought it was just a gift, after all you were busy with your office business, right?" callie.

"No problem, honey. In the end you also brought us together" Darrell replied. "Oh yeah, Marcello, when can you come to the mansion? Maybe my wife should plan a dinner together to welcome you to this country."

"There's no need to be over-received, Darrell. I'm here for a while for following my work."

As his wife's best friend, Darrell shouldn't be suspicious of excess. It is still in a reasonable context according to him. However, it does not rule out the possibility that Callie will do anything, right? Darrell had better anticipate bad things that would cause a commotion in his household.
