Chapter 54. Engagement Plan

The incredible awkwardness Sharron felt. Before the conversation continued, a servant came with a tray of cups.

"Thank you" said mama Darrell.

Darrell had not dared to look at Sharron. Slowly he began to focus his eyes on her.

Beautiful and graceful. That's the picture Darrell is telling us right now. However, only in his heart was he able to speak. Currently, Darrell is facing his family's trial for something. Suddenly he told his parents that he would propose to a girl he loved.

"Are you sure you're going to marry a girl who's a long way from you?" ask your mother before this meeting.

"Ma, I love her. I'm sure that this girl is capable of giving offspring to our family."

"If you're sure, bring him here! We'll talk together" his father said.

"That means mom and dad agreed?" ask Darrell to try to get some certainty.

"No! Before you met him, a deal was not formed. That's why!" papanya.

That's why Darrell got down. He was afraid that this opportunity would be lost because his father and mother disagreed. In terms of kinship, Sharron clearly did not include the characteristics needed by the Wesley extended family. However, in terms of career, his parents could definitely consider. Perhaps that will be the only pros and cons in his relationship with Sharron.

"What's your name?" ask papa Darrell.

"Sha-rron, sir," he said stammered with nervousness.

"Don't be nervous. My husband is good, really," said mama Darrell with a reassuring smile that she would be fine.

"Did your family allow you to come here?" ask Papa Darrell again.

Sharron's confused. He himself does not have a complete family alias aka kara. He started to fear that until this became a reality that he would be expelled before it was all over.

"A-i-i-"

"Sharron has no family, Pa," Darrell replied firmly.

Javer glanced at his son. A gaze that was difficult to interpret for both Darrell and Sharron. Which made Darrell aghast, not because his papa kept urging who the Sharron family was even though the middle-aged man already knew, but there were other questions.

"What's your job?"

This is like an interview conducted between a boss at a company and its prospective employees.

"Model, Sir."

"You're a model? Over where? Why didn't I know you were a model?"

At first glance it sounded very heartbreaking to Sharron. However, he would try to accept the consequences if he was indeed rejected.

"Pa, she's a junior model in Austria. It's only natural that Papa doesn't recognize him" Darrell said. He wanted to get through this day well so that the plan to marry Sharron could soon be realized.

"Pa, I think our son knows more, don't you?" sahut mama Darrell. "Oh yes, Sharron. Meet my husband, Javer, the man I've loved all along. And, I'm Allegra, Darrell's mother." Allegra realized that this young woman did not know her family at all.

"Greetings Madam and Mister" Sharron replied.

No words after that, suddenly Javer and Allegra left the middle room. Only Sharron and Darrell were left there.

"How is this?" sharron asked in a whisper.

"I don't know. I don't know, this time why they asked to interfere in my love affairs!"

"really?" sharron asked increasingly. Could Darrell's parents be getting more selective?

"Yes. They keep forcing me to bring you here. Both of them ran away without a message. This is really shitty. Agree or not, we'll stay married!" If his parents can make a unilateral decision, Darrell can decide his own life.

One hour.

Two hours.

Almost three hours, Darrell's parents haven't returned. It feels like the air-conditioned room temperature suddenly warms and then gets hotter. It feels really like being in court because soon the judge will knock the hammer to sever their relationship.

"Mama? From anywhere? We've been waiting for Mama ever since" protested Darrell who couldn't stand this kind of situation.

"I'm sorry Mama, Darrell. Suddenly your father forgot that he had to attend a meeting for a while. Why are you guys quiet. Please drink the tea" said Allegra.

Gosh darn. Imagine how cold the tea is. Three hours ago the position was still hot, maybe slowly warmed up because the room AC was already very cold. The new host invited him to drink it after the temperature was near freezing. It feels really weird.

"Mama! You let me and my guests do nothing because of your departure" Darrell protested.

Attacking Allegra with a constant protest, Javer came back with a slightly more relaxed appearance. If he had been wearing official clothes, then this time he looked relaxed with his casual clothes.

"Why do you keep protesting with your mama?" ask Javer.

"Pa, why did you leave us?" The next attack was directed at his father.

"You two should have dinner first. Mom and Dad ate. Go!" allegra.

Sharron's heart was twitching more and more. What is the game of fate for today?

"Hey, why shut up? Get ready to eat!" pinta Darrell at the dinner table.

"I think your parents don't agree with our relationship, Darrell. Besides the reason I don't have a family, I'm a model. Looks like models are very strange in their ears."

I don't know. Sometimes Darrell's thoughts don't go along with his parents. However, they never forbid any decision made by him. His decision to marry Sharron had to go through stages from his parents. It's really weird and unusual.

"Eat first! After that I will take you to your room. Stay here tonight."

"Darrell, I'd better stay at the hotel. I don't have a problem. After all your parents don't seem to like me," she said, turning the fork around without eating her food.

Darrell took a deep breath and then exhaled. Obviously this is something confusing. His intention was to take Sharron to Italy to get approval from his parents, but until this moment had not received any answers.

"Eat first. After that we'll stay at the hotel" Darrell said.

"Why the rush, Darrell?" ask Allegra.

"Mom, we'll be staying at the hotel for some time" Darrell said.

"You're always in a hurry, honey. What if papa finds his son alone with another woman who is not his wife? He could be angry."

Sharron's getting scared. What if her parents disagree knowing that Darrell and she have done something that they really shouldn't? Will Sharron be allowed to marry his son?

Cold sweat flooded Sharron. He's very scared.

"Mama, Sharron doesn't want to stay here" Darrell said.

"Prepare yourself. Another week your engagement party will be held."

Sharron and Darrell wanted to express this unexpected happiness. His parents seem to agree. They even asked for an accelerated engagement.

"That fast, Ma?" ask Darrell.

"I don't think you'll be able to bear waiting too long with this beautiful girl" Javer said.

Darrell, who was sitting down, now stands up to greet his father and gives a warm hug. The same thing Sharron did. It's a bit awkward to give Darrell's mama a warm hug, but Allegra has prepared herself to hug her son's future fiance.

"Thank you, honey. You're a good woman. Mama believes that you can control my son's sometimes annoying attitude" Allegra said.

Tonight is a happy night for a pair of men and women who are about to have an engagement party for another week.
