Chapter 56. Engagement Brings Wounds

Allegra immediately informs the waiter to tell the MC to start the event immediately. The plan was delayed for 45 minutes. In the 31st minute, Sharron and Darrell were ready. After going through several stages of the event, arriving at the core event of the engagement by exchanging rings.

"Sharron Alexandria, will you be my partner for life until death do us part?" ask Darrell.

Allegra received a jewelry box that the maid gave him. She opened it and took the necklace and put it on. It looks so beautiful to be on the neck of his future daughter-in-law.

"Together, Honey. May you always be happy" said Allegra. The remaining jewelry in the box is returned to the waiter for storage. After the event was over, Allegra would submit it entirely to Sharron.

Sharron and Darrell go to meet the guests. Some of them congratulated him on his engagement and waited for when the wedding would be held.

"Congratulations on his engagement. May you always be happy."

"Well, I didn't expect your candidate to be this pretty, Darrell. I think you won a lot. He's young, isn't he?"

"I didn't expect Darrell to get married a second time. I'm really amazed at the woman of your choice."

Sharron continued to be made to blush because of the compliments given by invited guests. It was with a well-known guest, Marcello.

"Congratulations on your engagement, Darrell. I didn't expect you to get engaged so soon. I didn't even know Callie was gone. Is this your plan?" ask Marcello who seems to corner Darrell.

Sharron himself held onto Darrell's hand without letting go. He knew that the man before him was the one who had been told to Noelle. Speaking of Noelle, she promised to come, but it was a little late.

"What do you mean?" asked Darrell in a flat voice.

"I think you know what I mean. You killed him on purpose, didn't you?"

Had this not been in a public place, Darrell would have invited him to a one-on-one duel. However, he tried to respect his parents not to be rash.

Sharron was able to let go of Darrell's hand when she saw Noelle coming with some gifts in her hand.

"You continue the conversation. I'm going to see my best friend first" Sharron said.

"Go!" reply Darrell.

"I don't know why the world is so complicated. When I wanted Callie, you had her. And, when I want that girl, you get her faster than me. Or, maybe you're always sending out spies so you're always watching my movements?"

"Ck, don't be stupid, Marcello! I even met you when I was with Callie. As for your relationship with Sharron, I have absolutely no idea where you met?"

Marcello took the wine and then gulped it down a bit. He held the glass while continuing his conversation.

"She's a famous model in Austria. I know and I'm right. I asked one of the agencies to orbit it so that it would become famous faster. At least I've realized Callie's wish that you've been imprisoned in your mansion all along."

The accusations Marcello was referring to were illogical. Darrell does not like if Callie entered the world of models because everything in his body will certainly be seen by many people. The exception for Sharron who had already entered the model world so that whatever was asked to remove him from the model world was paid by Darrell. The reason is simple because Darrell loves her.

"I love him, Marcello. Whatever I do, Sharron will be with me."

"It does not mean being able to look at a woman who already belongs to someone else, Marcello. You can pick a woman out there."

Sick? Sure oes. Marcello could only look on without having. Once again he failed to get the woman he had always been after. It all ends in Darrell's arms.
