Chapter 34. Big Secret

Long time not meeting her husband makes Callie miss. After a long journey with her in-laws, Callie is now in the mansion. Her husband was in the room when she arrived.

"Darling, are you here?" ask Callie.

"You just got home? Mama and Papa come?"

"Yes, Honey. Come down! Meet before they go to rest."

Darrell got out of bed. He's already wearing his sleeping pajamas. It looks so sweet after a week of not meeting.

"Darling, you don't want to give this kiss of welcome to your wife" Callie pleaded.

"Come here!" Darrell asks Callie to come closer. He gave a friendly kiss on his wife's forehead. "I'll go down to meet them."

Darrell meets his parents at the dinner table. The manor was preparing dinner for his parents.

"Hey, Boy! How you doing?" ask Javer.

"I'm good, Pa. How are you guys?"

"We're good too, Darrell. Mama's confused, why did Callie pick us up? Is your marriage a problem?"

"Come, Ma. I've been dizzy with Callie's attitude lately" Darrell said.

"You should have children. If it's like this, you're busy working, Callie can take care of her own child" said Allegra.

"Honey, Mama asked you to come down" said Darrell.

"We'd better be honest with them, Callie. They can understand, right? Rather than us hiding the truth, it would make them disappointed."

"Darrell, forget about our talk about children. I want to ask your permission to go to Italy again. I want to calm down first before further discussion."

"Callie, how are you? You just arrived at the mansion, now you want to go again? Did you intentionally want to show my parents that our relationship wasn't okay?"

"Come, Ma!"

Darrell looks calmer.

"May Mama sit down?"

"Please, Ma. Sorry for making you uncomfortable. I don't know, the last couple of weeks I've been so emotional."

"What problem do you have? Do not hide the burden alone. Mama's still your parents, isn't she?"

"Ma, Callie can't be pregnant."
