Soraya continued to observe every thing that there was a living room. The sight of the forty-five-year-old beautiful widow was then locked onto a family photo. Not a photo with a large size and full frame engraved with gold color, but only a sheet with a size of 10 R wrapped in clear plastic to avoid dust. The photo was attached to the wall using clear tape at each corner.
There Dirga was seen with both parents and a teenager who was certainly the younger brother of Dirga. Although the pose and background in the photo looks very simple, but radiated there is a warmth of togetherness that is not made up just for the sake of a beautiful shot seen by the eye.
"Good afternoon" said a man who was none other than Dirga. He was already standing in the living room earlier with his appearance that looked very fresh.
"Good afternoon" Soraya replied as she stood up to greet the host. Shortly thereafter, Astuti appears, carrying three cups of tea, and serves them on the table, with Dirga inviting Soraya to return to her seat. "What do you need, Mom?" dirga asked then after seeing Soraya who was trying to sit as comfortably as possible. "Sorry, the seat in my house is not as tender as the one in Mother's luxurious residence" said Dirga, who saw Soraya's attitude.
"Ga, why talk like that? Disrespectful, son," Astuti scolds who can catch the look and strange tone of his son.
"That's the truth, Mom. You should make sure that this cup is very clean and hygienic. Then Soraya's mother wants to taste the tea that I have served," said Dirga with a cynical tone full of satire.
"Dirga, Son. I never taught you to behave like that" Astuti again scolded disapprovingly.
"It's okay. After all, I didn't come here for a ride in tea" replied Soraya who was still trying to keep her image. "I'm here to discuss Beatrice's issue" he said.
"Isn't he in Spain? He even went there without saying goodbye first" Dirga said.
"He's back. It just so happened that yesterday we both went there," Soraya replied with her attitude and style of speech that showed that she was from the upper class. "Beatrice insisted on going to Madrid without me knowing why. However, the truth is he was there still looks moody. After returning to Indonesia, he just told me that it was all because you were Dirga," Soraya said with a fixed gaze to the young man before her.
"Because of me? What's my fault with her?" ask Dirga not accept. "Bea started it. I didn't do anything" Dirga denied emphatically. "After all, this is a personal matter. It should have been him who came to see me, not you."
"I am his mother. Bea my only daughter. He did not know at all about this visit, because this was purely my own initiative," Soraya explained.
"Whatever your reasons, what would be ethical if I talked about our relationship issues to you, who obviously did not like the closeness of both of us? Sorry Miss Soraya, I will not speak anything if not Bea himself who came," declined Dirga no less firmly.
"Bea doesn't want to see you. That's what he said yesterday," said Soraya who immediately made Dirga stunned. "To be honest, my daughter is not fully able to behave or think as an adult. He was twenty-two years old, but he was used to getting what he wanted. The most important thing is ... Bea did not like to accept disappointment," Soraya asserted with a gaze that was still fixed on Dirga.
While Astuti who had just listened, finally came to voice. "If I may know, what exactly is this?" ask the widow of the two children.
"I don't know, Mom. Bea suddenly could not be contacted. Soon, I saw him in Spain. Bea didn't say anything to me, he didn't even reply to a single message I sent. In fact, if examined from the problems that occurred in our relationship, he was the one who started it," Dirga told Astuti.
"What did Bea do?"
"He ...." Dirga paused his sentence, because at that moment there was a ringing sound of a cell phone that definitely did not belong to him. From the sound alone, it has been known that it came from an expensive phone.
Justright. Shortly after, Soraya pulled out an expensive cell phone from her bag. Beatrice's name is on the screen. Soon, Soraya answered the call. "Dear," she said.
"Will my mom come home early today?" beatrice's soft voice came from across.
"Yes. Mama will be home soon" answered Soraya. He then hung up his phone. The beautiful woman then put her phone back in the bag. "Sorry, I have to go home soon because there is an appointment with Beatrice" Soraya said.
"Please," answered Dirga flatly. He then moved from his seat even before Soraya left, making Astuti feel bad.
"Mom Soraya, wait," he prevented her before the beautiful widow passed from the living room of her house.
"What's up, Miss Astuti?" ask Soraya. He who was about to leave, was stunned for a moment and then turned to Dirga's mother.
"I have absolutely no idea what the problem is between Dirga and Bea. However, we are both mothers, of course we want the best for our sons and daughters" said the woman with a simple look. Something very different from Soraya's appearance.
"Yes, that's for sure. That's why I was very careful in choosing whoever the man who tried to embrace Beatrice" Soraya replied.
"A while back, Bea came here. He spent all day here. Bea asked me to teach her how to cook" she said.
"I like your daughter, not because of her physical beauty or social status. I saw that Bea was a very special girl. I'm sure she got that privilege definitely from you as her mother. A mother has a very important role to shape the character of her children. Sorry, you must know a lot more about it" Astuti said later.
Soraya was silent for a moment. He stared fixedly at Astuti. The woman before him was very simple, very far away with him and also his three best friends.
"Bea always said that Dirga was a good man. Now I know where the character came from. Sorry if I was too rude" Soraya said.
"Excuse me" said the beautiful widow before leaving the Astuti residence.
Astuti can only nod his head without preventing Soraya's departure. He sighed after Soraya completely disappeared from his sight. Now, it looks like Astuti should talk to Dirga about this matter. Of course as a mother, Astuti did not want his son to have problems.
"Ga, why are you doing all this? You should not behave like that, especially Soraya is Bea's mother," Astuti said after entering Dirga's room and sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Mom." Dirga's gaze could not be separated from the figure of the woman who was staring at him at this time, "I know what I had done earlier was a mistake and very disrespectful. But when I saw Soraya's face, I couldn't forget her rejection and words at the time, when I drove Bea home." Dirga was upset because of this situation. He changed the position to be sideways so that he could look at his mother.
Astuti was stunned after hearing the answer from his son. Without asking, he himself could already guess what happened that made Dirga behave like this. Of course Astuti understood that at that time Soraya could not accept his son because of their economic status. Astuti is starting to fret about it. As a mother, she felt sad when she saw the frustrated face of her eldest son.
"But, Ga. You shouldn't let this relationship dissolve into misunderstandings. You should talk to Bea, son." Astuti chose to discuss Beatrice alone for fear of Dirga getting emotional when discussing Soraya.
"Mom, I'm a man. My pride was hurt when Bea acted that way to me. He was guilty, but he just kept quiet and chose to leave without giving me any news. Do you think what Bea did was right?" Instead of being calm, Dirga was even more upset when remembering the attitude that her lover showed.
Astuti could not answer that question because he himself did not know what kind of problem made Dirga and Beatrice like this. Astuti looked at his son's face fixedly while looking for a solution to this love affair's second problem.
"A relationship can't go well if both are selfish. One of you must give up. Since when are you like this, Ga? I never taught you to be a selfish man. If Bea behaves like that to you, maybe she has a reason you don't know and your job is to meet her to solve the problem" Astuti said, rubbing her son's hand gently.
"Mom, I told you before, I'm innocent. Bea is guilty of playing behind with another man who is much better than me." said Dirga with a face that looks very upset.
"Ask your heart, Ga! Is it possible Bea did all that? Didn't you know Bea for a long time? You should know what Bea's character is?" Astuti was still trying to wake his son from this untrue attitude.
"But Mary saw for herself that Bea was with her friend's sister, Mom. As long as I know, Soraya had introduced the man to Bea. Is it wrong to be angry about it?" Dirga is increasingly upset that she remembers all the stories related to Beatrice and Reyhan.
"God. So you guys became like this because of the bird that Marry told her son to see Ida?" Astuti was surprised after hearing the confession from Dirga, "Ga, jealousy is okay, so do not be jealous blind, because all of it can make us hurt. You're wrong, son, if you act like this to Bea. Meet him and talk carefully, " Astuti said in a soft-sounding voice.
Dirga exhaled heavily after hearing his mother's advice. Of course he won't do any of that because he doesn't feel like he's done anything wrong. However, Dirga wanted Beatrice to come and explain the reason for his attitude.
"Easy, Mom. We don't need to talk about this. I'm tired and want to rest" Dirga said, turning his back to Astuti.
