Time brings everyone to their goals. Whether it is love or sorrow because life must choose one of them. Likewise, in a relationship, you have to defend one and leave the other. But all is not true for Handoko, because she is so greedy to have it all. He loves and does not want to let Astrid go, but he does not want to let go of the honey waiting for money from him. Especially after this Handoko will add to his collection more fresh. Of course this has hurt Astrid.
"Haah, stop. I'm tired already" Astrid murmured with a heavy sigh, "perhaps letting go is the best way. No matter how hard I cover my wounds with this luxury, it still hurts. It's enough I'm following Handoko's madness" he continued.
The forty-seven-year-old woman is weighing her heart, considering that tomorrow is the verdict hearing. He convinces the heart if farewell is the best path for him because he can no longer follow Handoko's every move.
"Good night, Moms," Handoko said suddenly as she approached Astrid in the living room. He threw himself at Astrid's side. He was stuck to the open arm like a stamp attached to a mail envelope.
"What are you coming to see me?" ask Astrid without further ado.
"I want to spend time with you on purpose, Mom." Handoko glanced at his first wife at a glance, "are you sure of this decision?" handoko asked after leaning on the back of the sofa.
"certain. My determination was already unanimous because I was tired of following your increasingly disoriented steps," Astrid replied as she looked at her husband, "I just want to live happily with you, but if you don't want to let go of everything, then farewell is the best path for us." Astrid stared at Handoko fixedly.
Handoko just kept silent while staring at the woman who had accompanied him for several decades. He did not expect that the household that Astrid had built with him had to run aground in the middle of the road. Handoko close the body with his wife. His hand touched the wife's pointy chin, while the look on his face could not be separated from the two beautiful eyeballs belonging to Astrid.
"If it is this path that can make you happy, I will grant it because my way of happiness is not only to one woman. You deserve the happiness you want, Moms. I'm sorry because maybe during my time as your husband I can only make you happy with the material. I share everything I have for others, even though I know that in the depths of your heart there is a wound from everything I do." Handoko revealed the contents of the heart that had never been revealed to Astrid.
"I love you, Moms. But I can't just hang on with you either" continued Handoko.
"Yes. Doesn't matter. At least we've been knitting love beautifully. Thank you for all the wonderful memories you once gave me. Maybe our destiny just got here. I'm tired and I'm giving up on your madness. I won't regret this decision" Astrid said with a very sweet smile.
"After this what will you do, Moms?" handoko asked as she remembered how the survival of the woman who became her first wife was.
"Eitherway. I don't have a plan yet. Maybe I'll stay with Agnez or stay in Indonesia" Astrid replied as she poured red wine into her glass.
"Don't stay with Agnez. Just stay in this house because I won't ask for it. This house and some of the assets that you have used are your rights. I'm not gonna dispute this. Consider it all a gift from me," Handoko explained as she looked at Astrid with a faint smile, "you can open a business with both of our savings money in the BNA account. Wear everything for your needs" continued Handoko while receiving a glass containing red wine given by Astrid.
"Thank you because you still care about me. I thought you were going to kick me out and take everything I've collected" Astrid said.
"I'm not that bad, Moms," Handoko replied before taking a second sip of red wine, "this evening I want to stay here for the last time. I want to give my time even if it's just for a little while because I want this parting to be a sweet farewell." Handoko looked at Astrid meaningfully.
The long night had just passed. The darkness of the night had disappeared after the king of rays again showed his power. Since morning Astrid was busy in the kitchen to prepare a special breakfast for Handoko. Some of the menu that used to be Handoko's favorite has been presented on the dining table.
"Good morning, Moms," Handoko said after arriving at the quiet luxurious dining room.
"Morning. You better have breakfast so we are not late to come to the Court" Astrid said after sitting in a chair facing handoko. This morning they woke up late because they were up.
Breakfast was without any conversation. They both enjoyed the food on their plates. Handoko occasionally stared at the face of the woman who had accompanied her for several decades.
"Let's go now" Astrid asked after breakfast.
They go to court driving a different car because they won't be one more house. Astrid was escorted by her personal driver to a religious court to conduct a court decision. Honestly, at this time, the woman who was soon going to bear the status of the widow was nervous. But all of that sense was dismissed when he remembered the purpose of his life so far.
"I deserve to be happy. I'm tired of doing all this. I can definitely live happily without Handoko." Astrid tries to strengthen her heart while on her way to the religious court.
A few dozen minutes later, the couple sat together in the courtroom. The magistrate read out the divorce suit filed by Astrid.
"After reading and weighing and mediating, we as the magistrate hereby declare that the divorce suit filed by sister Astrid Mananta to brother Handoko Pramuja is granted. Sister Astrid Mananta with brother Handoko Pramuja we declare not husband and wife anymore in religion or country."
The verdict has been declared valid by the judge after three hammer beats were heard. Shortly after that, the divorce trial was completed. Everyone immediately moved from his place, including Handoko and Astrid. They stood in front of the courtroom while smiling faintly.
"Thank you for all the time you've given me. I hope we can still be friends even if we are no longer husband and wife. Stay the father of Agnez" Astrid said, patting Handoko on the shoulder.
"Goodbye, Mas Han," said Astrid before leaving Handoko, who was there.
The middle-aged woman rushed into the car after exiting the religious court. He threw himself on the chair with a heavy sigh. Along with that, a tear began to wet the cheeks.
"Whatever I hold back tears, they still shed. It turned out that I wasn't that strong when I let go of Handoko. After this I just want to live happily without the pain of seeing Handoko with her ladies and gentlemen. I deserve to be happy even without her beside me. Thank you Bea, because you've shown Auntie that happiness is not just about matter" Astrid said, wiping her tears.
