Lady Kim Yoona looked at her grandson with a stiff smile but her brown eyes seemed attentive. At the age of seventy, the woman still looked beautiful with her white hair, an aura of nobility, and the unshakable haughty self-confidence that comes from the exclusive life that he lived for a lifetime.
Despite the rigidity radiating in his every behavior, the woman is not never grieving. She lived longer than her husband and children. But her self-control was so strong that even her closest friends did not know whether she loved her husband and children or whether she realized they had died. After all asking that to Miss Kim could jeopardize their position among the nobility, so none of them dared to ask.
The woman did not look at all anxious when she listened to the words of her eldest granddaughter, who was sitting on one of the sofa sitting rooms with her legs in boots superimposed on the other knee, who was sitting on the other, casually explaining that he was late because two robbers wanted to kill him last night.
Despite this, the other grandson did not bother to hide his feelings while listening to his cousin's explanation. Raising his wine glass to his lips, Yugyeom gave a grin and said in a lazy voice, "Mingyu, admit it, you actually want to spend another night with your beautiful mistress. Uh, excuse my sassiness, Grandmama," Yugyeom said a little late as the Madam glanced sharply at him. "When in fact no robber and twelve-year-old girl saved you. Right, right?"
"Wrong," Mingyu replied calmly.
The mistress was watching the exchange between the two cousins. They are very familiar with each other, like brothers and sisters but also very different like day and night, Kim thought. Mingyu was more like herself, stiff, cold, keeping her distance, while Yugyeom was more friendly and kind. Yugyeom has parents who love him very much, Mingyu never knew the affection of his parents. The grandmother liked Mingyu's nature, but she did not like Yugyeom's friendly nature. Dislike, to varying degrees, is the only emotion Mrs Kim is willing to show.
"It happened exactly as I told you, even though admitting that my pride was hurt," Mingyu continued flatly as she stood up and walked towards the cupboard by the side of the room to refill the wine in her glass." "When I was staring at the barrel of the gun and then a second later the woman had appeared, coming into our midst on an old horse, and riding on a horse, his helmet cover was lowered while holding a spear in one hand and holding a rifle in the other."
He poured his much-loved Portuguese wine into a glass and then returned to his seat. In earnest and not disparaging tone, he continued, "His armor is already rusty and his house is exactly like the one depicted in the spooky novels, complete with spiderwebs on its ceiling, and his, faded woven fabrics, creaking doors, and damp walls. The woman had a deaf butler, a blind waitress who walked against a wall, and a drunk uncle.."
"An interesting family," murmured Yugyeom. "It's no wonder he's so.. uh."
"The conventional attitude" Mingyu quoted flatly, "is a refuge for a disheveled mind."
The grandmother, who throughout her life was a faithful adherent of the ancient understanding, was angry. "Who said that silly phrase?"
"Bruschweiler's analysis."
"very unconventional." Yugyeom chuckles amusedly, noticing how a smile of affection expands on the rough face of his cousin when he mentions the girl's name. Yugyeom knew Mingyu very rarely smiled, except seducing or cynical smiles, and rarely laughed. Mingyu was raised by a father who believed everything sentimental was 'soft', and anything soft was not allowed, forbidden. So does everything that makes a man fragile. Love included. "How does that wonderful woman look?" yugyeom asked, curious, wanting to know more about the woman who brought such a tremendous influence on her cousin.
"Dark," Mingyu replied as a shadow of Lisa's laughing face flashed through her mind. "And very skinny. But he had a smile that could melt corals as well as very pretty eyes. It's greenish hazel, if you look at her face, those are the only eyes you'll see. He said he was as learned as you or me, and although his house was very gloomy, he had a cheerful nature."
"And dare, it seems," Yugyeom added.
Mingyu nodded and said, "I will send him a check, a gift for saving my life. God knows they can use the money. Based on what she said, and the things she carefully did not say, I concluded that the responsibility of taking care of the household was on her shoulders. Lisa would be offended if given the money, which is why I didn't give it to her last night, but the money will lighten her load."
"You're so cynical," Mingyu teased bluntly. "But Kai misjudged this girl. He has no cunning or greedy nature."
Surprised to hear such a sentence coming out of Mingyu's mouth, who had always underestimated women, Yugyeom swiftly proposed, "A few more years try to meet her and make her as,"
"YUGYEOM!" hardik Mrs Kim with an unhappy tone of voice. "Please don't say that in front of me!"
"I never dreamed I'd take her away from the village" said Mingyu, ignoring her grandmother's pouting face. "Lisa is a rare gem, but she won't stand living in London one day's stuff. He is not strong enough, or bitter, or ambitious enough. She," Mingyu suddenly stopped and looked with a curious expression towards her butler, who was politely feigning a cough to attract Mingyu's attention. "Yes, Will, what's wrong?"
Will straightened up, his face wrinkled unhappily, his eyebrows raised in annoyance. Showing his words to Mingyu, the butler said, "There are three people coming here, Your Grace, who insist on seeing you. They came upon a chariot so bad that it could not be expressed in words, drawn by a horse that could not be said to be a horse, dressed in clothes that no sane man would wear,"
"Who are they?" sela Mingyu was impatient.
"The man says his name is Monty Bruschweiler, and the two women he has with him are his sister-in-law, Mrs Bruschweiler, as well as his niece, Miss Lalisa Bruschweiler. They say they're gonna collect your debt against them."
Hearing the word of Mingyu's eyebrow debt instantly intertwined. "Their earrings came in," he said briefly.
In contrast to her usual haughty attitude, Lady Kim allowed herself to throw a kellant-numbered-also-nothing at Mingyu. "Miss Bruschweiler is not only greedy, she also likes to be pushy and presumptuous. Just imagine, he came to see you here and said you owed him."
Without commenting on her grandmother's statement, Mingyu walked over and sat down at the carved oak table at the end of the room. "You don't have to watch this. I'll handle it."
"The opposite," said the grandmother in a cold tone. "I and Yugyeom must be present as witnesses, who knows, these people want to blackmail."

Keeping her eyes fixed on the butler's back, Lisa reluctantly walked behind her mother and Uncle Monty. He was struck by a great shame, and his suffering increased a thousandfold seeing the splendor of this Mingyu family estate.
He had expected that Mingyu's grandmother must have lived in a large house, but had no idea and imagined that this place was so majestic, towering in the middle of the many acres of parks and gardens. Until they arrive at this place, Lisa holds on to her memory of the nobleman as she saw him that night, friendly and open. However, this house had erased that ridiculous thought from his mind. That man came from a different world. For the man, this house was a tiny country house. Though this house is a palace, Lisa thought sad when her feet sank into the thick tapestry, this palace made her feel smaller and insignificant than before.
