Surprised to learn that the painter is a woman and Yugyeom's tone of voice is sluggish, Lisa hesitates for a moment and decides to forget about the matter and slowly turns her back in front of Yugyeom.
"Let's see me, Yugyeom. Do you think he'd be happy to see me now?"
Holding back the urge to tell Lisa that Lady Una painted the photo while enjoying her lightning affair with Mingyu, Yugyeom turned his gaze away from the painting and made Lisa's request. What he saw made him stumble.
In front of him stood gracefully a canti dark brown, wearing a sexy dress with a low neck of dark green chiffon material that has the same color nuance with the color of his eyes. The dress wrapped her diagonally full chest then hugged her slender waist and rounded hips. Her dark brown curly hair was combed back away from her forehead, dangling in waves over her shoulders all the way to her back. Diamonds tied with metal glint twinkling like stars on a satin cloth. The diamonds adorned his long, slender neck and shimmered at his wrists as well. However, it was Lisa's face that made Yugyeom's breath choked.
Although Lisa Kim does not have a beauty that conforms to the traditional standards of her people who prefer blonde hair and dull pale white skin, Lisa is one of the most seductive and seductive creatures, even without having to do anything, that Yugyeom had seen.
Under her plump eyelashes, there were eyes that could amaze or melt it was staring at the jail in the direction of Yugyeom, completely unaware of the effect he had on others. Her rancid, pink lips invited to be kissed, but her stiff smile warned anyone not to come any closer. At the same time Lisa can seem seductive yet untouchable, innocent yet sensual, those opposite things that make her so attractive. And, his incomprehension that he is attractive, makes Lisa more attractive and adorable.
Lisa's high-boned, delicate cheeks paled slightly as she waited for the silent man before her to say whether Mingyu would be pleased with her appearance tonight. "Is it that bad?" he asked, joking to cover up his disappointment.
While grinning widely, Yugyeom grabbed Lisa's gloved hands and said sincerely, "Mingyu will be amazed to see your performance tonight, as well as the nobles when they land their eyes on you. Will you leave a dance for me? Waltz?" The impression while looking into Lisa's big eyes.
On the train on the way to the dance, the grandmother gave Lisa one last message, "You don't have to worry about the waltz, my dear, so are all the social niceties you're gonna do tonight. Nonetheless," the woman warned in a threatening tone, "i must remind you once again not to let Yugyeom praise," she paused to glance at her grandson, "about your wit makes you feel lulled into saying something that shows you're nerdy and smart. If you say that, no one will be interested in you, I dare to guarantee. As I've said over and over again, men don't like highly educated women."
yugyeom squeezes Lisa's hand to provide support while they get off the train. "Don't forget to leave one dance for me tonight" she said with a smile looking at Lisa's glowing eyes.
"You can spend all my dance rations, if you want." Lisa laughs and slips her hand in Yugyeom's groove, unaware that her beauty has affected the man.
"I was forced to come in line," Yugyeom chuckled, "Despite that, tonight will be the most pleasant night after all these years."
In the first half hour at the dance, what Yugyeom predicted proved to be true. Yugyeom deliberately preceded the two women who had gone with him to enter the dance hall, so that he could watch his grandmother and Lisa majestically enter the room. And it's worth watching. The grandmother walked into the dance like a hen protecting her cubs, her chest puffed up, her back perpendicular, her raised chin challenges anyone who dares to question her judgment by giving Lisa that risky support or insulting her.
Their appearance literally 'stopped the show' for a full minute, the five hundred most influential, apathetic, and modern nobles stopped talking and were amazed to see the most respected, most fearsome, noble woman, and the most influential in all of England is protecting a young woman unknown to anyone. Guests began to whisper and glasses were raised while their attention shifted from Mrs Kim to the beautiful woman standing next to her, that was in no way similar to the skinny girl who was present at the Mingyu funeral ceremony.
Next to Yugyeom, a noble raised his haughty eyebrows and spoke in a lazy tone, "yugyeom, are you going to tell us about the identity of the dark brown-haired beauty standing next to your grandmother?"
Yugyeom looked at the person expressionlessly. "The widow of my late cousin, Mrs Kim young from the Kim family."
Trying hard to contain his feelings of regret, Yugyeom said, "The last time you saw him he was so young and grieving that he wasn't in his prime."
"The older he gets, the better" said the man, raising his glasses in a judging style and pointing them at Lisa, "Like wine. Your cousin is an expert at judging wine and women. The woman was in accordance with Mingyu's estimation. Do you know," the man continued speaking in a bored voice, his glasses still pointing at Lisa, "that the beautiful Mingyu girlfriend had been unwilling to take anyone up to her bed all this time? It's hard to digest common sense, isn't it? realizing that his mistress was more loyal than his own wife."
"What do you mean?" cecar Yugyeom's.
"I mean?" asked the man, turning his head cynically to Yugyeom. "There's nothing. But if you don't want the nobles to draw the same conclusion as I just did, I suggest you stop looking at Mingyu's widow as possessively as that. She doesn't live with you, does she?"
"Shut your mouth!" sergeant Yugyeom.
Instantly changing moods, the man smiled widely without any heartache. "They're gonna start to joke. Let's introduce me to that woman. I asked for my right to dance first." Well, anyway, he was a party organizer. He deserves more than anyone.
Yugyeom hesitated, grinding his teeth inwardly. He had no reason to refuse to introduce the man, after all, if he did not comply with his request, he knew very well that the man could and would turn around by humiliating Lisa. Or worse, repeat the conversation he had just done. And the man was the most influential figure in Yugyeom's circle of association.
Yugyeom has indeed obtained the title of Mingyu, but he himself knows he does not have the arrogance and confidence that makes Mingyu the most influential person among the nobles. The grandmother, Yugyeom knows, can force all nobles not to demean Lisa, and the old woman can guarantee Lisa will be accepted by those who are her age. But the grandmother could not force the Yugyeom generation to accept Lisa completely. So did Yugyeom. But the man she was talking to could. The nobles of the younger generation were afraid of this man's sharp tongue and even Yugyeom's friends didn't want to be the subject of this sharp-tongued man's banter.
"Of course," Yugyeom finally agreed.
Without much ado he introduced the host to Lisa, then backed off and watched the man bow gracefully and asked to be allowed to dance.
When the dance was almost finished, Lisa began to relax and stop counting steps in the heart. In fact, he was just about to decide that he did not miscalculate and step on the foot of his elegant but bored dance partner until the man made him almost make a mistake.
"Tell me, honey," said the man in a cynical tone, "how did you bloom so beautifully while you were living with the cold Mrs Kim?"
The music grew louder indicating that the waltz dance was almost complete, and Lisa was sure she had not heard wrong. "Sorry what you said?"
"I express my admiration for your bravery for having spent an entire year with the most famous ice queen, Mrs Kim. I dare say I sympathize with you for the pain you've been suffering for the past year."
