Lisa, assisted by two female servants, took three hours to dress up and get dressed. The wedding itself took less than ten minutes.
An hour later, Lisa mistakenly holds a crystal glass filled with frothy champagne. He and his bride were in the middle of a large golden-blue sitting room, while Mingyu poured wine into her own glass.
Although determined to ignore it, the wedding party felt very unreal, tense. Mother and Uncle Monty came and were hardly ignored by Mingyu and his grandmother, even though Uncle Monty was at his best and wisely did not glance at the buttocks of the women who came. Yugyeom Kim and Roseanne Park were also present, but now everyone was already on their way home.
Surrounded by the elegance of a golden sitting room and clad in a bridal dress made of yellowish white satin decorated with pearls belonging to Mingyu's mother, Lisa felt more like an unauthorized person than when she first came to this house. He felt like an intruder entering a world that was not friendly to him as well as to his family, all of this barely made him breathless.
It feels strange why I now feel so insecure and at ease, Lisa thought. She was wearing a dress far more beautiful than she had ever imagined, and looked more beautiful than she had ever imagined. Earlier this morning, Mrs Kim's personal fairy tale, had intervened directly to keep an eye on Lisa's makeup. Under her meticulousness, Lisa's hair had been brushed until shiny, then combed into a bun at the top of the head, and clamped to his left right with a pair of circams decorated with pearls that match with pearl earrings in his tiny ears.
Lisa looked at her reflection in the long mirror in her room and secretly felt happy. Even the Kim family's personal fairy took a step back and declared that she was quite beautiful, but Mingyu did not comment a word about Lisa's appearance. The man only smiled soothingly at her as Uncle Monty placed Lisa's hand on Mingyu's, and that was enough to keep her afloat during the wedding procession. But, now, they were for the first time just the two inside the sitting room as husband and wife, respectively, san the only sound was the voice of the servants carrying heavy suitcases down the stairs and boarding them to the carriage that would take them on their honeymoon trip.
Not knowing what she was going to do with the samapanye, Lisa chose a safer path by drinking it a little and placing it on a table full of carved and gilded gold.
When he turned around, he saw Mingyu watching him as if the man had only seen him for the first time. All morning not once did the man comment on Lisa's appearance, but now, as the man's gaze swept over her body ranging from her shiny hair to the hem of her sparkling satin dress, Lisa felt the man would finally comment, and she held her breath expectantly.
"You're taller than I thought you were when I first saw you."
That unexpected comment, following the puzzled expression on the man's face, made Lisa suddenly want to laugh. "I don't think I grew more than three centimeters a week ago."
Mingyu smiled faintly at the answer then continued more seriously, "First, I thought you were a boy, and as for the size of a boy you belong short."
Determined from now on to transmit cheerfulness into their relationship whenever they get the chance, Lisa joked, "But I'm not a boy."
Despite not wanting to get too familiar with Lisa after yesterday's kiss, Mingyu was apparently not immune to her cheerful and charming smile. The smile even dispelled the melancholy of the wedding feast from his heart. "You're not a boy" he agreed, smiling back. "Not a girl. But you're not a grown woman either."
"It seems so," Mingyu chuckled. "How do you describe a young woman who is not yet eighteen?"
"I'm eighteen years old" Lisa replied seriously. "Today's my birthday."
"I didn't know you had a birthday today," said Mingyu, truly looking regretful. "I'll buy you a present on the way. What do girls your age like?"
"We like it if we are not constantly reminded that we are very young" Lisa replied lightly but with a meaningful look on her face.
Mingyu's laughter echoed throughout the room, "Oh my God, you have a witty sense of humor. Amazing, for people who are still young.em so beautiful," he quickly failed. "I once again apologize for making fun of your age and for forgetting to give a gift."
"Like it or not, you're my birthday present."
"You express it in a beautiful sentence," Mingyu chuckled.
Lisa glanced at the clock, half an hour ago Mingyu said she wanted to get ready to set off on a boat. "I'd better go upstairs and change my dress" she said.
"Where did my grandmother go?" mingyu asked as Lisa was about to walk out.
"I think he was taken to the bedroom, lying in bed looking at your unfortunate marriage" Lisa joked. In a more serious tone, he added, "Will he be okay?"
"It needs to be more than just our marriage to call the doctor and bring him the deer antler" Mingyu replied in a tone of affection and admiration. "My grandmother could subdue Napoleon alone and come out victorious. And if my grandmother had finished beating him up, Napoleon would have begged him to forgive her for fighting with us. Little things like my less fortunate marriage won't make her fall ill, trust me. And since you've now taken my name, he won't let a single person insult you."
Lisa was pensive for a while, before she smiled again. "Yes, I think so, too," he said slowly until Mingyu also did not hear it. For Lisa, what else to worry about from the past. My grandmother-in-law would think so. Wouldn't it be more to maintain the honor that is now plastered in plain sight. He himself was also determined to preserve that honor. She is married to the Kim family. There was no way back for Lisa.
Lisa passes to her room upstairs to change for a dress, while Mingyu appears to talk to Will about some things that don't make Lisa want to know more.
